Nice video and good luck on the qualifiers. This seems like perfect intro for those in winter states who take 6 months off every year, great way to get back into it

Hi. You have great tempo and a 3/4 swing for all clubs. Thanks for the video!

Thank you so much for this overview of your drills and exercises for getting ready for the Seniors Qualifying. This would make an excellent set of swing exercises for anyone preparing for a comp. I like the idea of working on feel until that's near perfect before looking at any technicals. So shorter swing / shorter targets to get the body and arms synced up - then longer swing / longer targets. And, the 58, Wedge, and 8i as the work tools initially with 3/4 swings. This is a great video. Preparing for an event is so rarely covered. Or when it is, it's so glib, that it's not something the rest of us could usefully use as a template. This video absolutely meets the requirement - smashed it! I'm starting to use this as my swing development plan from today.

@@ezegolf60 I wish I was from LA so I could come and see you - but I live 25 miles east of Bath in the UK West Country. My big take on this video was to focus on the feel. Before seeing this, I'd definitely have tried to nail positions, angles, and where the butt points. I've started concentrating on this video content and immediately started swinging better and striking smoothly. I've been following you for three years when I was doing lessons with Graeme McDowell's coach, Clive Tucker. His lessons and your videos were a perfect match. The only videos that could do that.

Looking forward to part 2. Borrow someone’s track man and also would love to see u sharpening your chipping / touch. Also as a sloppy golfer myself I would like to hear more about how u take the sloppiness out without getting too ridged? Finally, r u happy w your equipment or r u making any changes?

Listen. I’d like to help. You are a rear post and an under right hand grip and elbow. Which is fine, IF it is in fact what you are supposed to be. However, you are demonstrating an intended release pattern that is NOT a matchup for that grip and elbow. It is a mismatch. You are demonstrating a right hand and elbow release that is a fit for an on top grip and elbow. The opposite of you. Just allow it to release naturally. Also, forget about this “synchronization” and the cautiousness that comes about because of the attempt. Start moving. Get dynamic. Allow your instinct and ability to govern the motion and quit trying to be so god damn careful. Get “reckless”. Also, forget about this imaginary “plane”. There is no such thing and the concept itself is toxic. Let the club swing freely and quit trying to make it go where you think it should. Remember, preferences are the enemy of success. Patches out.

Haha - er - you do realise that Eric has won over 50 events in his career? If you watch his other videos on this channel and a lot with Brendon DeVore on the Be Better Golf channel, you'll hear Eric cover all the errors his swing has that are not going to get fixed after all this time. So you're correct - but Eric knows - and Eric has to work with the "Swing he Brung" as Snead would say.

@@ChristopherDowning I think you’ve missed the point. There is nothing wrong with Eric’s swing IF IF IF 1) He is in the proper grip- for him 2) He is utilizing the proper lower body pivot action- for him *you can test for both of these 3) He swings the club freely Currently, he is employing 3 toxic concepts; “plane”, “synchronization”, and a mismatched release The concept of “swing plane” assumes that the club, from the grip end to the clubhead, lie flat against an inclined angle at address, and that angle adjusts steeper and shallower during the swing, all the while maintaining the same baseline. This is simply not the case. The grip end and the clubhead take wildly different paths in their journeys around the body. This toxic plane concept should be thrown into the gaping bin of myths and mysticisms due to what today’s modern technological measuring devices and the hundreds of elite players that have participated in getting measured have clearly revealed. Trying to manipulate the club through some imagined idealization produces CONSTRAINT. We don’t want constraints The concept of “synchronization” assumes that we want the body, the arms, and the club to be moving together at some point in the downswing and though the ball. This is exactly NOT what elite players do. The movements, or what Eric refers to as the “geometry” are 100% resultant of the physics; the force that the golfer applies that result in the movements that you see. Elite golfers do not get the force from the movements. This is quite literally backwards. Timing the application of these forces with the travel of the club IS the true measure of “synchronization” in a golf swing. The peak magnitude of these force applications occur before the club even reaches parallel to the ground in the downswing. The concept of trying to get everything to move together sounds good and all but is just not a reality of what occurs in the swings of elite players. The attempt inspires CONSTRAINT. We don’t want constraints. We want dynamic motion. Not motion that is attractive or aligns with someone’s preferences NOBODY, whether you have won the Botswana Open or the Masters or US Open is able to play well with a mismatched release. An under grip and an on top release or an on top grip and an under release is worse case scenario in golf. Ask Jordan Spieth or Brooks Keopka or Yani Tseng. The release that Eric is demonstrating as an intent is a closing action; the opposite of the one that fits the grip type that he is currently employing. If he does in fact measure out to be an under grip like the one he is using, he needs to release it like Dustin Johnson. He is demonstrating a release type that is a fit for an on top grip golfer like Sergio Garcia If you get matched up you can SWING IT without worry about where the club is in relation to planes or where you think your body should be. So get matched up and never mind the bullocks Patches out ✌️
