@Ryan Guidry It wasn't a matter of age, being in his prime. He avoided punching and kicking them because it was more spectacular and one mature well trained man's punch could kill any of these kids. So it would be b...t if he fought with them with all his power and they would fight back.

I don't know about China, but in the US, if you are being attacked, especially outnumbered like that, you have the legal right to use whatever force is needed to defend yourself. @@m0ment219 Seriously? Gee, I didn't realize. LOL! It was planned by Jackie, no doubt. Planned with his unusual style to use odd things and moves and to allow him to fight six kids without striking any of them. He knows how much power goes in a hit - and how to back it off. But - this is important - after all the planning, after training, practice and moving up to speed - each part of the fight still had to happen in real life. None of this was CGI.

@@Fraggr92 I've actually heard that Jackie Chan, while very easygoing and friendly off the set, is extremely demanding and a perfectionist on set. He wants actors and stuntmen that know what they are doing, he knows how he wants the shot to look like and he won't stop until it's absolutely perfect. He is extremely passionate about what he does and he expects that same level of passion and dedication from the people he works with on set. When he's not on set, he's super friendly and approachable and easy to talk to, but on set, he knows what he wants, he knows how to get it and he expects people to do their job and do it to the best of their ability. He won't settle for anything less than 100%. That's what I heard anyway. I'm sure that he cuts child actors a lot more slack. The people I was referring to are trained professionals and adults with years of experience. Children, he probably goes much easier on.

The interesting thing is, that martial arts do not teach the “no mercy philosophy.” I was taught to “throw the last punch.” And be done, you do not kick people when they’re beaten. The worst part about this group is it looks like they were gunning for a fight, which is not only wrong, but in some case criminal.

This is by far the best bully revenge scene I ever saw, even if this cannot be considered a proper "revenge". Mr Han is not cocky, he is menacing and focused. He is not trying to be "cool", he just wants the bullying to stop. And he does just what is extremely essential: letting them understand they are outpowered and outskilled without seriously hurting them. And at the end, he has visible fatigue, because he is not the usual superhero or mega soldier badass, he is just an old kungfu man with all the limits, trying to defend a child at his best against not 1, not 2 but 6 persons. No cocky face, no grin, no catchphrase, no applause at the end. There is nothing to celebrate here. Just a cold "go home" and soon after he takes care of the kid on the ground. That's something hollywood does not understand, this is where true strenght resides, in humility and love, not in how cocky or savage you are. And violence should be a last resort, not the "cool way" to resolve conflicts and "win the girl". Very good, chapeau.
