I think COVID and inflation is what caused this. I noticed this shift in celebrity praise during both of these and with the Kardashians whole image being they’re rich and famous because they’re rich and famous, I think people just are aggravated and irritated because lots are struggling to afford basic necessities.

I think the Kardashian downfall slowly started in 2020. Once the pandemic happened, so many people realized it’s not about all the materialistic stuff. What's scary to me is that they may actually think they're promoting health. Meanwhile, I don't believe there is anything healthy about countless unnecessary surgeries to change your body with the trends or getting injections in your face, let alone lying about it. And I think they're idea of health when it comes to what they eat isn't right either - it's like the less, the better. That being said, I try to remind myself that they are human and they have more pressure to look a certain way than I do, that's for sure. It's all just sad.

Plus in the United States we live in a society where everything is constantly told to us in lies.. we can’t trust anything, so why would we watch the Kardashians who will just tell us more lies about themselves… it just seems kind of pointless to watch?

I feel like the Kardashians often forget that their literal job is looking a certain way, conveying an idea of physical and social image. People work all day long and sometimes don’t have the means for a private chef or time to cook and plan extremely detailed meals. Honestly, most celebrities who managed to stay relevant for decades, reinvented themselves and their “brand” over and over and over to achieve that. There is a reason Taylor Swift has an “Eras” tour with distinct parts, outfits and feels - because she changed her vibe at regular intervals to keep her audience engaged and/or change target audience. For all their talk of doing “the work”, none of them appear to have looked at what is needed to succeed long term - they seem to feel that being well known and keeping up with and/or setting unrealistic beauty standards is enough. The fact that many people have turned against exactly what the Kardashians represent - unrealistic beauty standards thanks to ridiculous amounts of surgery (and calling that a passion for being healthy, is extremely rich), appears to have passed them by. Also the fact that their existing audience, has aged and shifted interests away from people being famous for being famous and scripted, petty drama, marked as “authentic”…something a lot of people found ridiculous in the first place. The shock value, which originally got them noticed (They spent HOW MUCH on surgeries AND there is a SEX TAPE????) has worn off years and years ago. The new generation is actively turning against what they represent…and they seem to have completely failed to create a long term business, which can exist purely based on quality and selection rather than as part of the Kardashian eco system. Personally, I’d love to see them go, but then I’ve never been a fan and have watched with a certain amount of disbelief their rise to fame. I find it disturbing, that they succeeded in hitting any Zeitgeist at all and the fact they fail to hit the current one, says a lot about people moving on - but also a lot about how much “work” the Kardashians ACTUALLY do, when it comes to keeping their “jobs” alive.

I watched one episode of the Kardashians and it felt so scripted and insincere that I wonder how people ate it up all this time without realizing it was all fake dramas and publicity stunts. But for the people who have been following them for years now, it must felt like a big betrayal. All the lies, the scams and shit... If I was a fan, I'll be pretty mad too. To be clear, there's nothing wrong with being skinny, but pushing a SPECIFIC beauty standard is not healthy, especially for impressionable teenagers. And it's not like they achieved this through a work out or a healthy diet. It's all plastic surgery. We, as adults, know that. But the kids might not, and that's literally the majority of their followings, teenagers.
