NOTES: Charm is making other people feel important & valuable. Here are the 5 A's of Charm: 1) Acceptance: Smile. Give unconditional positive regard. 2) Appreciation: Say thank you on every occasion. 3) Approval: Give praise to others. This makes you very likeable. 4) Admiration: Complement them on a trait, acomplishment, an award or on appearance. Compliment small & big things. 5) Attention: Create rapport w/ others. Listen to them intently. Focus on them. Take time before replying. (My add ons: Mirror them even-- an NLP technique. Practice empathic listening.)

The one thing that will make me feel important is to listen and not interrupt. Interrupting before someone finishes their thought is an indication that they are not interested in that persons opinion.

Brian Tracy, YOU are a great blessing! About two years ago I stumbled upon your lecture entitled, "The Unbreakable Laws of Self Confidence" and my life was completely, as well as immediately, changed for the better by that single lecture. Since then, I have listened to many of your videos & lectures. Your work is very reliable & you have a wonderful way of delivery that makes this incredibly valuable information very palatable & easy to understand. You have helped me in more ways than you could ever imagine. I sincerely thank you for answering the call in your own life to help improve so many other lives. You will always be in my family's thoughts & prayers, my friend. :) Sincerely, Gary Slayton

I love what you said about making the other person feel important. It’s similar to when I tell my coaches that if they want to make someone do something, they need to let the other person know how this will benefit them. Once they realize how what you asked them to do will help them, they’ll do it freely for themselves. They internalize it.

Thank you very much for this Brian. This has helped me to understand a former work colleague who cause me a lot or problems. He had the 5 Rs to Mastering Charmless Behaviour, these are as follows:- 1 - Rejection - Unconditional negative regard for everything. 2 - Rudeness - Never say 'thank you' and be offensive whenever possible. 3 - Resentment - Be jealous of others' abilities and successes. 4 - Rejection - Dismiss all actions of all others. 5 - Remoteness - Never think that anyone else has anything worthwhile to offer. I am sure that most people will encounter some awful colleagues that they have to work with; when you do, just check out how many of the 5 Rs they are displaying.

Brian, this is a fantastic video! Thank you for providing such enlightening and uplifting content. My husband makes me feel important by often thanking me or complimenting me for something that I have done, such as cooking a nice meal or completing a large project at our business, but my favorite thing that he does is that he occasionally tells me that he is lucky to have me in his life and lists several reasons why. (They change each time.) It really makes me feel special and important and makes me want to do that much more for our relationship, our home, and our business. And PS: I am the one who is lucky to have someone so caring and supportive in my life, and I tell him often.
