@@hisamyouhana2650 then you're not reading the entire context into the text. I've read it a number of times. I last read surah 9 in it's entirety last week. The context provided in the quran itself implies a lack of provocation on behalf of the pagans. It also stipulates no warnings, nore does it imply them... once the treaty months are fulfilled, the order is clear- kill them wherever you find them, make their lives hard, ambush them, and besiege them. Beseige them. I can't emphasise that part enough. This is about establishing a treaty that permits followers of Mohammed to surround the pagans in their own land without them knowing that they will be slaughtered or forced to pay charity to Islamic causes. If they are willing to submit to Islamic rule on their own land, only then may they seek refuge under Islamic protection. This verse was also written much later than the famed "no compulsion in religion" verse... so by doctrinal abrogation, it over rules the verse. I'm sorry to say it, because I know how uncomfortable reading something that so boldly challenges your faith can make you feel, but I urge you to read the surah again.

These are the kind of questions that are TOUGH to answer when being among non-muslims... this SPECIFIC ayah has been VERY WRONGLY TAKEN by current media and non-muslims and CONTEXT is what needs to be understood. @Jeffrey Pinsoy No actually. They are recognised as either 1 of 2 in modern day Saudi Arabia; 1. They wish to work there, 2. They wish to live there. (Peacefully) Those verses is with regards to war which the Muslims hadn't started initially back then, which show us the historical context. If there is war than such measures must be taken is the message of the verses. Not a universal declaration of war now.

@Addi Abebba God need you to put in effort. God could've made man without providing him free will and man would've never sinned. But God choose to give us free will so that we can overcome the bad temptations and willingly abide by God's rules. Similarly, you need to put in a little effort to gain knowledge of Islam. People these days don't want to learn about Islam. They have a pre conceived notion that 'religion is a myth' 'Islam is evil' etc and interpret text that way. The verse he was talking is Surah 9 At tawbah and verse 5. Even if a low IQ person would've read the entire surah from start, or from verse 4 to 7 he would've got the context. But people are quick to jump and attack Islam. They'd watch a guy on youtube explaining them Quran rather than sitting their ass down and reading the English translation.

Context Very true If you see a man hitting a woman in a video clip you would think, the man is a woman beater right? But if they show the whole clip which shows that the woman started it and she grabbed a knife and she wanted to kill that man but he managed to punsh her. It's a silly example but you can see clearly you can Photoshop even the Qur'an by taking it out of context

Quran [2: 26]) Behold! Allah is not ashamed to propound the parable of a gnat, or even of something more lowly.28 On hearing these parables the believers know that it is the truth from their Lord, while those bent on denying the Truth say: “What does Allah mean by these parables?” Thus He causes many to go astray just as He directs many to the Right Way.29 And He thereby causes to go astray only the transgressors,30

@@sunilchoudhury8957 The context is needed to understand why whats said is said, also if it demands unprovoked murder why don't Muslims carry out this murder and don't refer to terrorists groups as first of they are such a small percentage of the population and second of all they also do not use this context.

@@subhanbaig4461 also, the law of theological abrogation means that any earlier verses are abrogated by later written verses if there is any apparent contradiction, and the verses Mohammed was given by Gibriel before he died were the violent ones In context, the "you have your religion, i have mine" attitude was preached when Islam was a minority in Arabia. When the numbers were big enough, and islam had greater authority in the region- the violent verses came to be. And as the violent verses were written last, they forever hold more authority than the peaceful verses. I know what I'm saying isn't easy to swallow... but this is the historical context. So please, be honest with me as I have been unapologetically honest with you. What happened in the 300 years before the Crusades? God bless

@@subhanbaig4461 wow my first comment responding to you got deleted. I wish it didn't, I spent time crafting my message carefully so you'd understand my criticism isn't of muslim people but is of the religion, its scriptures, and the history of it. I spoke with regards to the context in the tafsirs not being consistent with the context that both history and many hadiths provide, and that most Muslims understandably trust the tafsirs... but sadly that means they're trusting a false history and false context. So long as the tafsiral context isn't in the quran itself, there will always be people like ISIS who take the violent verses at face value. They may be an absolute minority in the west, but this isn't the case through middle eastern and African countries (and to a far less dramatic extent, east and south east Asia) I hope you understand that I know this won't be embraced with open arms, but I'm saying it with love in my heart for your eternal souls. I pray that this inspires some to look outside of the mainstream Muslim sources to see for themselves what the truth actually is. The example Mohammed left in history was that of a political tyrant who exploited religion for his own gain (i know how hard this is to read, and im sorry... but I must be honest). The tafsirs record a very different context... but the hadiths when aggregated are actually closer to the truth. The question I want to ask you is this... What happened in the 300 years leading up to the Crusades? (i condem the crusades, but the question is important, and researching the answer may lead you to understand my point better)

Keep in mind that the Quran doesn't specify anything in case of those disbelievers who should be killed right away, except that the killing should be avoided near the Masjid, so the order to search and kill is directed to every Muslim, and applies to any disbeliever, who don't want to convert right away, while the exile is a different case, which applies only to those disbelievers who chased you out, instead of killing you, so it's only an act of gratitude.

Look at it this way for the non muslims I personally am not religious but spiritual however Let's say someone barges into your house takes all of your stuff and is threatening to kill you so you leave your own house. A couple weeks later you go back kill the people who evicted because they have weapons and your threatened and in danger but their in your house you pay the bills in. Its the same here muslims were kicked out of their land and were being threatened and persecuted so they went back to their land gave the people 4 months( which is awfully generous someone kicked me out of my house I woulda killed em without question) to leave and don't come back or join them otherwise they would use lethal force. Makes perfect sense to me thank you for the explanation truly wonderful 😊💯

One scholar might translate "beautiful" and another might use the word "magnificent" but the meaning is always remains same. @@KingVazay No, you have misunderstood. These terms only applied to the worst chief of the enemies of the muslims back then when makkah was taken. They were bloodthirsty. Remember, they were still a threat to the muslims and having them around was risky. That's why in order to take away this risk of a threat, those chief polytheist were asked to accept Islam or leave. If they did not leave, they would be considered a threat because remember, these were the chiefs of the polytheists who wanted to outright slaughter the muslims, had they stayed in makkah as non muslims, they could have made a plot to kill the prophet (SAW) or some of the muslims, understand now. You see, it's important to understand the context (the situation of the time). It's easy to criticize Islam and hard to defend as a large portion of the muslims are uneducated or don't even have access to the internet. Remember, the Quran mentions the "atom". Back then, nobody knew what an atom was, remember all the signs and prophecies of Muhammad (SAW) that came true. Don't leave or doubt Islam now.

Bukhari (84:57) - [In the words of] "Allah's Apostle, 'Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him.'" The verse isn't about dealing with anyone invading during times of war. You'd only believe that if you hadn't read the verse. There is clear context provided. Surah 9:1 immunity from God is provided to pagans if a mutual treaty were struck. 9:2 go for 4 months through the land... but don't frustrate God with falsehoods, for God will shame those who reject him. 9:3 an announcement of God and of Mohammed will dissolve the responsibilities of the treaty. It's best for you to repent. Turning away can't frustrate God. Proclaiming a horrible penalty for those who reject the faith. 9:4 treaties with the pagans are not dissolved, and any alliance you have kept you must fulfil until the time of the treaty is served. 9:5 Then when the months of the treaty are over "fight and kill the pagans where you find them. Seize and stir up strife for them. Besiege them. Lie waiting in ambush wherever you may in every stratagem of war. If they repent and establish regular prayers, and practice regular charity" then leave them be. 9:6 if they don't fight back, capture them and give them dawah. The verse (9:5) is about surprising those who you were just in a TREATY with with violence once the treaty has expired. It's about forced conversion, and is only eased once someone is willing to either convert, or is forced into slavery. The pagan isn't provoking anything. The clear order is to murder them wherever you find them. The clear order is to wait in every ambush... nothing in the context of the entire contextual base of verses applicable to the verse in question even remotely implies that these people are given time to leave an area in accordance with a treaty, nore does it imply anything to do with the pagans being insurgents. You don't live peacefully with insurgents before giving them the ultimatum "get out, convert, or die". To believe as such you must be a fool. You don't Besiege insurgents - insurgents besiege those they're invading. This is about murder in cold blood- unexpected murder so that those of your faith have the element of surprise in their favour. Talking about taking things out of context. This isn't a time of war right now, taqiyya isn't applicable when you're not making claims like this to defend your faith against people threatening your life or your religion, so why lie?
