Obstacle 1 has got to be one of the best songs I've ever heard.

Interpol really doesn’t get enough credit for their role in the revival of guitar centric rock. Turn on the Bright Lights is every bit the equal to Is This It. Two different styles of guitar, but both equally refreshing.

I don’t think a lot of people understand just how fucking good this song is. Also, this cover is absolutely unbelievable, holy fuck.

Watching this as a 28 year old in 2020 and instantly reminded of how lucky I was to be a middle school kid finding my musical tastes in the early 2000’s. Killers. Interpol. Everything else. Man, we really grew up with some of the greats, didn’t we?

Interpol is pretty underrated. I mean their basslines, guitar riffs, deep lyrics and theatrical videos. They have to be in the top 5 alternative rock bands of 2000s.

Probablemente muy poca gente lea este comentario, pero no me voy a privar de hacerlo... hace más de 12 años que me dedico a la música, soy bajista y hace años que me dedico al rock, durante mi niñéz y adolescencia he escuchado miles y miles de bandas de todo el mundo, sonido diferentes y muchísimas cosas más, sonidos únicos y totalmente increíbles... pero jamás escuché una banda tan buena como Interpol. A raíz de un accidente domestico que me dejó en cama por unos cuantos meses, me ví obligado a descrubrir nuevas bandas y tuve el privilegio de descrubir a Interpol, escuché todos sus álbumes, todas sus canciones, entrevistas y shows en vivo, realmente jamás escuché una banda tan simple y tan buena, me quedé perplejo al escucharla y aún me pone la piel de gallina. Hoy puedo decír que me siento realizado al 100% en la música, esto era todo lo que necesitaba escuchar. El corazón de New York, los años 2000, la cocaína como estandarte y las luces brillantes que jamás se van a apagar!!

It´s a fair tribute. Brandon´s style voice is great and unique in this interpretation as in their own songs. Listening Interpol in Killers is really great so they are both great bands.

The Strokes is my favorite band and I was ecstatic to see them on their home stomping grounds at govball16. But goddamit if The Killers didn't put on the most killer (...) live show of that entire weekend next to a frankly amazing lineup. This is a perfect cover. Listen to verse 2, the drummer and bassist match the double strokes and nail the integral, but forgotten, tom hit. Truly incredible musicians to do this. Big respect to Interpol and their fans.

I first heard of Interpol when they toured with The Cure in 2004. It was like my world opened before my eyes. Since then I have seen them in concert over 100 times in 2004. Best band ever!

Losing my mind over this. The Killers were my favorite band in high school. Interpol has been my favorite for about 12 years now. The Killers always do an amazing job with their covers and this is no exception.

no le tenía fe a este cover pero suena bien , sin embargo, si el tema hubiese pertenecido a The killers probablemente no me hubiese encantado y fascinado tanto como con Interpol, ya que esa voz tan genial de Banks, la guitarra de Kesler y el bajo espectacular de Dengler simplemente te envuelven una atmósfera tan indescriptible que es difícil igualar.

guess the bassists was having a hard time with the Carlos D basslines. when turn on the bright lights came out, I burned a hole into it playing on repeat. it defined the sound of NYC for me. probably the most darkest, cinematic atmospheric album during those time. that and maybe Elfant with the sunlight is making me paranoid. great music back then.

Sometimes it’s nice when a cover is a literal note for note performance of the original, it’s nice when there’s a new interpretation of a song but this is just so close to the original and it sounded great. Two great bands, one great song 🙌🏻
