Interesting to see the Queen (then Princess Elizabeth) curtsying. She hasn’t done that for nearly 70 years and I don’t believe I’ve ever seen footage of her doing it until now!

It's amazing seeing the Queen (then Princess Elizabeth) curtsy to King Frederick and Queen Ingrid. Throughout my lifetime, she curtsied to no one.

This was the last time you'll see Princess Elizabeth curtsy to anyone for next year - 1952 she will be Queen. Interesting to know there is a photo of Queen Victoria holding Queen Ingrid's mother, Princess Margaret when she was just a baby in 1882.

King Frederik was king of Denmark while King George VI was king of the UK. Their daughters became Queens of their respective nations around the same period. Now, their grandsons (Frederick and Charles) are Kings of Denmark and UK respectively.

not true. Margarethe was still a little girl in 1952, she became a queen in 1972. Except if you say they were of the same age.

@urskaska "around the same period" As at 1980-2020 for example, they were both Queens. That's what I mean. Of course I know Elizabeth became Queen 2 decades before Margrethe.

I was just a little girl at the time of Their Majesties the King and Queen of Denmark's visit to the UK. Yet I vividly recollect those memorable days. The whole country was in sheer joy.

Queen Ingrid was like, yeah just visiting my mum's family...Her mother is Princess Margaret of Connaught, a British royal granddaughter of Queen Victoria.

The family relationships go much deeper than that. Margaret of Cannaught died young. Ingrid's father, King Gustav Adolf, then married Louise MOUNTBATTEN, Prince Philip's aunt. Louise became the Queen of Sweden, and she was the sister of Louis Mountbatten, the Earl of Burma, and Princess Alice, Philip's mother.

And one of Queen Elizabeths nieces had married a Danish prince (Frederick's 2nd cousin) who lost his place in the Danish succession. He complained that the King of the UK had married a Bowes-Lyon, why couldn't he marry one without losing his position.

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has not had to curtsy to anyone, not even her mother or grandmother, since 6 February 1952, the day Her father, His Majesty King George VI died in his sleep!!

What a Fine Figure of a Man King Frederik lX was & his Lovely Petite Queen Ingrid, originally from Sweden. You can see where Queen Margrethe ll got her Stately Stance & her Beauty From. Now his Grandson, King Frederik X rules Denmark & I'm Sure King Frederik lX, will have been proudly watching First his Daughter & Now his Grandson.

victor borge played piano and his commedy routines at a copenhagen opera house, int eh 50s this was,dressed in tux and tails he emceed the proceedings and welcomed the royal majesties the king and queen to the evenings festivities,,,,it is such an honor to be here in this beautiful hall on this equally gorgeous might in may,,, ( taking off one loooooong white glove laboriously) and also we welcome their royal highnesses,the king and queen are here this evening,,,,,the both stand for a bow,,, ;truly they are,,,,pause,,,,,,,a coupla great danes',,,,,,,,' both of them laughed heartily at this

1:46 first time seeing Queen Elizabeth curtysing to someone. 😮 king Charles and princess Anne are babies here, now they grew up into grandpa and grandma , queen elizabeth looks young here, she lived up to 96 and passes away, time ways for no one, not even for monarchs. So we all are same at end mere humans therefore we must live life happily with no regrets
