The speech the king of Sweden made to his daughter, Victoria and his son-in-law, Daniel at their wedding. He also made a speech for his wife and the queen of Sweden, Silvia. (SVT June 19 2010 )

@princesskyrie Transcript of the first part of the speech: "Your majesty Queen Silvia, dearly beloved wife. Today is also our wedding day. Therefore I wish to congratulate you on our day and thank you sincerely for the love and support you have shown me another year. Thanks to you and your compassion I see to the future with much hope and confidence." Then comes the rose.

I couldn't understand a single word, but I think I got the basics! I think it was so sweet how he spoke of his wife at the beginning! You can clearly tell that they are still in so much love with each other!

I love every chance I get to listen to Swedish my original language. I was born in Sweden but grew up in the USA. I love my Swedish roots. I started kindergarden in the US speaking no English.

It was very unexpected of him to give the rose, he wasn't exactly known for romantic gestures. I read that in a news paper. Nice speech. It was cool watching this wedding from TV.

@@Snorgviggle the Braganza tiara, it was owned by a Brazilian empress, it passed over to her sister who happened to marry a swedish king, and now to queen Silvia who is partly Brazilian, and have read it's endearing to her

It`s probably annoying to you guys...translating all of it into english, but can someone please translate at least the first part? I`d like to know what the king tells the queen right before he gives her the flower. Would be nice. I think everybody has the right to express their opinion against the monarchy, no matter the country, as long as it is not a vulgar, personnal insult. I am part of the Commonwealth and against monarchy. They serve for nothing, only, speeches, cutting ribbons and charitys. A lot of non royals collect a lot of money without titles... remember Mother Theresa? For me the right thing would be that only people who support royals, pay supplement in their income to keep those royals: believe me that a lot, a lot of people would préfère to abolish royalty.

Unfortunately, he is. He's the regent of Sweden, whether you want it or not. If you want to change that, sure, but don't say things like that as it only makes you seem stupid.
