I think he has a fair reasons for not fully trust her. They had a deal when the girl came to the palace to ask for a medicine for her lover, and she promised that she would come back and be his concubine in 3 months. I think at this point he gave her his fullness trust and think that she would come back pure and all to become a concubine ( as we know the concubine must be virgin). However, she came back being pregnant with another man and she was really cool towards him. I know that she didn’t love him in the beginning but when you promised someone that you’re gonna be his wife why you still sleep with another man anyway. It is considered an extreme insulting for Chinese culture, and he is the king i couldn’t imagine how humiliating that would be. She was cold towards him, she escaped from the palace to meet with her ex and she set up a plane to help a captivated crown prince escaped. What she had done slowly poison his trust bit by bit. So i think she has a share in blame as well.

minsu1110 yes, the ending was pure shit, the "tragic love" that they want to make doesn't work, and in the drama she shows that love more the SC than the PC, but i kind love the fact that the pc is a "antihero" and in some ways villians i love villians 😳

I actually love her with Ying Zheng * covers face in shame * IDK why, am I a masochist or something? lol Some fans says she was better off with her first love, but I actually thought she's forgotten him a long time ago and has moved on to the King. I think they were better suited because of their opposing temperaments, that's why sparks flew everywhere whenever they met lol. But Ying Zheng was really twisted beyond her wildest imagination (and that's why that shit happen at the end. ) She loves him, but because internally he doesn't believe anybody could love 'the him that was already tainted', I think that's why he persist in believing that she stayed with him only because she feared for her son's life. But it occurred to me that if she had thought less of his desire to rule as a wise King, then she wouldn't have sacrifice her life like that for him and instead, killed him at that last scene to rid the people of his erring ways. Instead she took the harshest way to express her faith to him by offering the last thing she could, which was her life. That fight scene, weirdly, reminds me a lot of this Chinese gay film before called " Farewell My Concubine" Weirdly as well, that Li is a concubine too. hahaha.

I think a lot of people misunderstood her at the end. The only guy who's ever understood her really was Han Shen, even then he knew that she has already fallen for Ying Zheng. She tried to protect Jing ke because of their past relationship, and also for her son. She mourned Jing Ke's death like that at the end as he was her past lover and the father of her son, they shared friendship, same master, etc. But she only looked up to him now as her past love and senior. ps: gah why am i blabbing so much about this series! lol I thought i was over it already! dang it....! hahaha

minsu1110 i like the way he is portrayed i agree with you, he could learn how to trust people, but as a king is hard and she betrayed him a lot of times helping his enemies that late want to destroy him so when he started to trust her, she do somethin that make him lost trust on her, in the end the only person who never betrayed him is he guard and Best friend
