Synopsis: Gongsun Li, a beautiful commoner, has been studying Kung Fu from her grandfather alongside two senior apprentices ever since she was a little girl. During her youth, she saves a boy named Ying Zheng, who later becomes the King of Qin. Her world is turned upside down when war breaks out amongst the warring states and her grandfather is killed by the Qin army. As a result, Gongsun Li is forced to flee her hometown. Her longtime senior, Jing Kie, is then poisoned for attempting to protect her. In order to obtain the cure for Jing Ke, Gongsun Li chooses to marry the king, Ying Zheng, who is responsible for invading her nation and murdering her grandfather. Soon after, Gongsun Li discovers that she is pregnant with Jing Kie’s child. When Ying Zheng’s discovers Gongsun Li’s pregnancy, he comes to her aid by claiming that he is the father of the child, which deeply moves Gongsun Li. In order to ensure the safety of Gongsun Li and her child, Han Shen, Gongsun Li’s other senior, chooses to become an imperial bodyguard in the palace. Faced with the dangers and perils of life in the palace, Gongsun Li develops into a strong woman and eventually earns people’s respect through her wisdom and kindness.

Han shen is the one who loved lier truly unconditionally he protected her and her son until his last breath he sacrificed his life for her that's the true love I couldn't stop my tears during his death scene , his character is my favourite in this drama,on the other hand the king's love is only obsession he's selfish and he doesn't care about anyone but himself .

People need to be taught how to love, care for, and be loyal… It’s not a trait we’re born with… And I’m not saying that’s an excuse for the king to do as he pleased, but it is exactly how he was raised, exactly what he was taught from birth… without love, without some who cared for him, without someone he could depend on, and learn from how to love, how to care, how to be loyal…This happens when children are taken from their mothers, or grow without anyone who truly loves and cares for them…his mother was a piece of work…case book on how to raise a monster…and never care for anyone but herself…

That was one of the dumbest things she has done…along with trusting a maid who acted like she was all about helping her…a maid from the king…please did she have no radar/common sense about who was good, who was bad, who was manipulating her, and who was not… I can tell in the first three seconds whether a person has good intentions or not… Why don’t people pay attention to this? I’d love to see a drama of people who know good from bad just by standing next them and feeling their vibes….

Don't understand why Jing Ke is receiving so much flak? King lovers are pitting his love for Li against Han Shen. Wasn't he guarding Li till King snatched her using a devious plot? Didn't he get poisoned while saving her? He underwent depression & guilt drinking all the way after losing her who was the only person he had but fan girls call him loser to make that cruel king look good?? He is a commoner who lost his purpose in life once Li gone and when she lied to him. He was already a zombie. Throughout, he has got nothing for himself. Now also, he has chosen death for himself for state of Yan. If he has misunderstood Li, he has done nothing for himself too. He hasn't even given his heart to Lan unlike Madam Li who's hugging, kissing that psycho King!

I really love Li & Jing Ke interaction with each other. They look natural yet passionate. She is not afraid with Ying Zheng and even made me think that the way she treating him is like a mother taking care of her spoil child at some point😅 But she is always obeying/following Jing Ke. Always careful to not make him angry or worry. And always act soft, succumbed & obedient, like a sweet little lamb in front of him. She is also Respect him by not asking him to running away with her, becoz more then anyone else she understands him better. She understand that he isn't such a man who will run away from his responsibility. Instead she stried to drug him with sleeping gas in order to make him missed the meeting. OMG, this girl!! She is really capable to do anything to protect the people that she loves (as a woman I respect her so much 💘 ) This is how a "wife" should react with her "husband". He also didn't ask her to leave the palace at the end, because he wants to Respect any decision she will decide. The same Respect he gave her, when he decided to let her go after he rescue her from being kidnapped. He Respect her decision to choose her son over him, and let her return back to the palace. They Considering the good for each other, to the point of brave enough to letting go. This is what true love should be, this is what a real "Married Couple" should look like 💜 especially in the ancient time they came from. Well~ he is actually indeed her "Real" husband 🥰😉 it was from Ep.4 if anyone even notice it. Jing Ke even called himself "fūfù" 🌹

Han Shen is an ideal character. He too is obsessed with Li. And Li doesn't deserve Han Shen. Moreover, she chose to remain with that cunning king than go away with Han. She doesn't love him. Just like Jing doesn't love Lan. Bitterness, misunderstandings towards each other come in two sided love because expectations get set. With one sided love, that is not the case often.

Unfortunately, the King of Qin has nefarious plans which endangers the life of Tian Ming. Li'er have heard the talk between thr commander Lhi Jong and the king regarding his plan to officially announce that Tian Ming be the crown prince instead of the eldest son Fu Su when in fact, during the course of the King's life, he will all of a sudden change his own edit and make Fu Su the heir apparent after all. The King's plan was very sinister. Li'er knows that her son, Tian Ming is just a pawn used by the king to force Li'er to stay by his side. The King has a very possessive and obsessive love on Li'er and uses every means including using the innocent Tian Ming to further his interests and plans for his empire. no matter if he makes life of Tian Ming so miserable and always in danger. I admire the King for his wise, decisive and knowledgeable prowess in the administrative and military side. He is indeed a very powerful king. In this regards I have my respect. But, when it comes to his love for Li'er, it appears that it is too obsessive to the point that he hides his true intentions on Li'er, cunningly pretends to care for Tian Ming only because the child has his uses.... Poor Li'er with her pure spirit, she really thought that with her surrendering her feelings to the king, giving-up her first love to Jing Ke, carve a new life with the king, a new chapter in her life, everything will be alright and peace will fall into place. But, lo and behold! In the end, like a game of chess, the King played everybody-on including Li'er and Tian Ming, and even to his heir apparent Prince Fu Su.

King love Li but it's just because of his past life trauma that he don't actually trust anyone even if he love that person a lot . I think the ending was perfect writer actually did Justice to this story . Because in this life it was not possible for Li to break this love triangle (as King was so powerful) so may be in after life Jen and Li will be happy ,King will learn his lesson (by living a lonely life all alone) and wait for his death too so that he can be good and find like other life 😭😭😭😪😪 lots of love to dilruba and Zheng for making this series an emotional journey hats off to you lots of love from india

A very sad story...their friendship was broken because of their indifferences. There are many moral lessons that we can learn through the story. I thought this is a true story.

Though I didn't really like Han Shen at first ,I felt for him😭Just watching after 3 years just bcoz of Dilraba 🥰,I find Diz drama one of d best historical dramas , Doesn't matter d ending is sad 😭
