In addition, Anthony Kaldellis' Procopius of Caesarea: Tyranny, History, and Philosophy at the End of Antiquity is good, since Kaldellis shows that Procopius was probably pagan. I'll let you know if I think of anything else- that is similar to a topic that I did some seminar papers on a few years back, but I am hardly an expert on that particular topic.
