It is an "overpay," but sometimes you have to do that when you are close to a title. I honestly think it was a good move. If I can only keep one of Randle or OG, I'm trading Randle. Both OG & Mikal are 37-38% career 3P shooters, both have made all-defensive teams, and both are very capable of averaging 16 points per game. Having those two on the same team, I just dont think people are giving the Knicks enough credit. Now if they just let OG walk for nothing, I'm not as big of a fan of this. If they lose iHart, there are several centers in this years draft & they have a pick.

I have been wanting Bridges to the Knicks for a while now. I just never thought the Nets would do it. I think this trade is harsh, but fair. Knicks gave up late first round picks for someone who will work in their system, and didn't hurt their rotation to do it. That's how you gotta build a contender these days. Fuck them picks, and then when it ends, blow up the team for someone else's picks. (It also discourages tanking. :D) They gotta bring back OG to make it work though, since they gave up so much for OG, and they gave up so much for Bridges. If Bridges is just a replacement for OG, that makes it a bad trade, since the benefit is in the synergy of having OG and Bridges. I also think that Randle is expendable now. If they can trade him for a good center, or for cap space so they can resign IHart, then that would be best. Hope Mitchel is healthy next year too, despite Embiid's best efforts.

For the Nets this was the right move they clearly weren’t going anywhere with Bridges as their best player and no one wants to come to Brooklyn in free agency. So it was better that they get some of their picks back from us and start the rebuild. Now did the Knicks give up too much for Bridges. Yes they did but it’s not a bad move on their part because they got a perfect 3 and D versatile wing that fits perfectly next to Burnson. The Knicks are trying to win now so those picks might not be that good in the coming years. They have a shot since besides Boston the Eastern conference is still pretty weak, As for my rockets they are trying to go star hunting I have no interest in KD rather go after Booker. But it’s smart for them to see how the Suns do this season. Because if the Suns are a mess this upcoming season and they get bounced in the first round. Booker and KD could ask out and that’s better for us because those picks become valuable and we can probably make a deal with the Suns in case they want to start a rebuild. What a crazy few minutes and the draft haven’t started yet lol

As a Knicks fan, I gotta say, I am super skeptical of this move. I think the most important thing the organization could have done was to run it back with the same group. There's now a very likely chance they cannot make it work with either or even both Ihart and Og. I'm not sure who made the call to sell the future for someone who's redundant and in my opinion overall worse than Og, but it's a bad bad sign. When you're a GM you can't make moves like this. They fell into the mistake of making a move based on emotions and hype and not pure basketball, everyone in the league knew they would be looking at this so the nets were able to price gouge mikal and the Knicks got played.

Sorry -- that's just too many picks for Mikal Bridges. 😅 That's what you trade to get Jokic .... Are the Knicks going to sign og anunoby and Hartenstein ....?
@shorewallАй бұрын
Lol, players like Jokic aren't on the market. The picks have relative value. Late round picks don't help when you are trying to get over the top, and they don't hold as much trade value either. Not all FRPs are created equal.

Nets were smart to cash in on bridges after learning he can't be the #1 even helped them grab their 1st back so they can tank when they are mid again . Yall not ready for cam Johnson taking 20 shots a night next year 😂😂

Knicks have a 5 out offensive lineup... making it harder to shutdown Brunson. Their kick and drive game will become lethal.
@rob.j.gАй бұрын
I believe in OG more than Randle. I don’t know if that’s smart, but that’s my gut feeling. I would rather trade Randle away and look for someone whose salary works.

Is chemistry worth 4 first rounders?
@roryodonnell7544Ай бұрын
yes, thibs doesn’t play the rookies their first year, with potentially 11 firsts within the next 6 years, perfectly acceptable to go into win now mode, especially with how far the knicks went last year

yes wtf 😭😂

Thibs got rid of future annoying rookies. Its a win win for him.
@king_supreme1102Ай бұрын
Yes, not to mention he’s a low end star? He will be a fantastic #2. Genuinely don’t get any of these negative takes. The chances if the Knicks getting a ring are very real if they keep OG.

Yes late first rounders 😂

This feels like a terrible move. But I’m happy the Knicks did it and not the Thunder.

There's not much draft picks can do for you if you're trying to take a team from good to championship level in my opinion.

If they keep OG, they’re better than the Celtics man. Especially considering how hard it is to go back to back after having a sense of accomplishment and less of a drive. Combine that with the Knicks hungry after what happened last season, it’s gonna be entertaining at the very least
@Mike-zw9zvАй бұрын
All that to lose in the 2nd round 🤣🤣🤣

If they are able to bring back OG and I Hart. Sheesh they have the 4 nova dudes, OG, Hart, McBride. Trade Randle and get Backup center and a couple other guys on minimum Tobruk out the roster. Sheesh

Most likeable team
@7eventy4uАй бұрын
I’m just a little confused, was this done to replace OG? I understand not wanting to possibly overpay, but i’d argue losing 5 FRP’s is a steeper price. Makes me think Randle could be on the move.
@randygraham926Ай бұрын
Not really a Knicks fan but I was impressed with their run this season .... they're crazy if they can't re-sign OG and Hartenstein. And I would trade Randle for somebody dependable....
@7eventy4uАй бұрын
@@randygraham926Moving Randle is the only thing that would make sense of this. I’d imagine they want both iHart and OG back. Maybe they find a team to eat Randles salary. Should be interesting.

what if the knicks traded Randle for Kat would that even be possible? I could see that pushing them to a true contender

The team chemistry is going to be amazing, plus they are just copying the Celtics formula with this team except they have hartenstein and Robinson instead of KP and Al
