This video theme gets SO MUCH FUNNIER when you realize SHE reached out to HIM. SHEEEE reached out to HIMMMM about working together and this man LEAPT to get this whole thing set up. XD She was surprised at how fast he reacted about it and he basically said he didn't wanna miss the chance lol

I love that after all these years Jay Park has changed a lot, the stuff he does has evolved too. But one thing with Jay Park that hasn't changed is that he will always give 100%. Whether its a hard hip-hop song, or if it's a skit where he needs to make himself look goofy and desperate. He always goes for 100%. There is no compromise with Jay. Love his work Edit: Also it felt like the whole video, Jay is just making a plan to invite IU over to hang out, and the crew is like his internal monologue. Always questioning if she will come or not. And then at the end, she gets there and the crew (Jay's brain) is like exploding with excitement.

I love this kind of satirical/non-serious music videos (another example could be Crush feat Joy - "Mayday", and I know there's some more in that vibe but I can't recall the names now), and it's sad that "wacky" concepts are so rare these days, idk if this got lost because of the expansion to the western market or for something else...

This song is so smooth but totally agree. We see a lot of box cutter MVs full of glamour shots and CG these days and we need more of these type of concepts in kpop. Fun fact, even in the days leading up to the release of this MV, they were teasing this by playing on whether IU would appear on the MV, it was brilliant

100%! The song is nice, IU's presence is even better, but the video production is a step beyond! Not for its budget or special effects, but storyline and creativity. So simple yet so effective!

I'd cry over IU, too. Woman has the whole industry in love with her and her beautiful vocals. This MV made laugh so much and the song itself is so catchy. Leave it to Jay Park to have great music.

I love the video, particularly because the humor works so well because of the implied tremendous respect for IU. It's a fresh and funny take on the interplay of the power dynamics in a collab, as he starts his new label from the ground up.
@PhuxBuiii

All I can say is RnB/Pop Jay is back. MORE VISION is his new label under Kakao to help fostering new idol trainees and debut them. He left his Hiphop/Rap legacy behind by leaving AOMG and H1ghr CEO position (which are owned by CJ). Jay's MVs have always been goofy and never really focused on some imaginary concepts with massive CGI/effects like the current MV's trend in Kpop. Examples are his 1-shot MV from All I wanna do, Solo, V, etc... I think it's what makes it more relatable to the audiences and usually provides the viewers serotonin boosts instead of the just the 'WOWS' from the current MV trend where idols became some conceptual characters and they threw in as much as cool CGI/editing to make their MV standout. Sometimes "less is more" and this is probably one of those for Kpop MVs.

I was actually asked the question who I want to sit down and have a proper conversation with out of all the Korean celebrities I know. I answered Jay Park first, Tablo second. Agree with everything you said. Also, I have no doubt More Vision is going to be big one day. Some people undermine Jay's success because he's not pulling in Kpop level numbers, but what people don't understand is how much power he has in this industry. I mean, CJ and Kakao are backing all of his labels. Just imagine that.

You perfectly captured my thoughts on this. The song and video are such a breath of fresh air. I hope this sets a tone for future Korean music videos and even music videos globally. More genuine humor and artists that are not afraid to take themselves too seriously. I'm reminded a bit of how Silk Sonic first came onto the scene too in how they presented themselves genuinely and garnered so much praise for such a relatively simple video. I'm really excited for what's to come from More Vision because this is a fantastic start.

I totally feel you on that about MVs, PD! I feel like MVs should ADD something to the song or comeback in general. Like, I want to feel the urge the WATCH the mv because of its visual storytelling. Like I don't want the visual aspect of the MV to just be a backdrop for the song. I want the MV to take its own stand and to have it almost be its own thing.

What I love about 1 gen MV is the short movie video. Nowadays is too focus on choreography that any video without it people don't even watch it. It feels too repetitive. Even with a simple MV with group or solo just in the studio room recording is good enough for me and feel more real

When reactions come from video experts, the reviews can always be very detailed and interesting. They know the technical stuff, they are curious about how the idea came, they can capture the main points, highlight scenes, etc. we can always find something new that we missed. The reactions are not just facial expressions, they come with appreciation and respect which is not only for the artist seen on screen but also all the staff behind. Thank you for the review, it just about the time till Jay come & watch this review 🙏❤️

Yeah, I agree with your comments on creativity! I'm all for idols looking "aesthetically" pleasing and having interesting elements in their videos, but it does lack a certain new direction. The "Ganadara" MV really took me by surprise and I had a similar reaction to you when laughing at those funny moments. It was refreshing to see the artists being more "human" in a way, and I would love to see more idols acting like that. It would be fun for them too, I think, and as someone who only has followed k-pop for the past 3-4 years or so, it's kind of gotten a bit stale for me. Personally, I love the music aspect of k-pop because I'm more into music, but through your videos, I've gotten more interested in videography too! keep up the good work as always PD :)

THE. SINGLE. THUG. TEAR. This song is both familiar (Woogie has my fave kind of RnB on lock) and the MV is refreshingly funny. Honestly I'm interested to see what Jay Park or a *woman* in power (female owned labels) will bring in coming years. ETA: did you check Jay Park's duet w/ DeVita on "cheese in the trap"? Then he got all over the hip hop scene in Korea and even then he did a great job. Like now HigherMusic and AOMG are the big hip hop labels. I think that he is really creative and I am really looking forward what he will do with his career and new entertainment company. Also he said that he wanted to make a new idol group and I think he might do a pretty good job.

you're so right about the lack of budget/involvement/creativity in k-pop lately. this video was amazing considering he could’ve done something so damn basic with the overall theme of the song. he made it truly entertaining, I give him props for that. with that being said, a video that surprised me (talking about the lack of shortfilm-esque mvs) is eternally by txt. they were rookies, and brought out a whole 20 min horror, incredibly comple mv for a bside. it's what made me like DEFINITELY like them. it's awesome to see something that’s not just a cool background and flashing lights, or something dark and "sexy", in 2022. don't really like jay park as a human but fuck... he's talented.
