Yall have to remember that this was written during the pandemic so he was also reflecting on his missing the spotlight and army and coping being alone. On suchwita he said to Yoongi, there was a time where i drank alot and yall let me....yoongi told him they let him get through it but they were there when and if he needed them. I think this song is about that time

“Jimin of 10 years ago would be in awe of Jimin today.” Damn that is so true. Yet he keeps saying currently he’ll work harder to make up for what he lacks. Like this is why he’s so good. He’s still hungry to grow and improve and be the best.

jimin said it’s about the time he lost himself in all the escapism to cope (during pandemic). after that period he realised “wait what am i even doing“ and came to the realization he wasn’t simply having fun he was actually just escaping his problems/loneliness/pain. and basically set me free is about facing those issues head on and setting himself free from them. this is a conclusion from the things he said about the songs himself.

I genuinely feel like we're watching Jimin's full on growth towards his own freedom, the intimacy of the song, the way he carries it, it's so raw and different compared to his other solo releases. It's like he's telling us, he wants to be free from the stereotypes and boundaries of KPOP artists, maybe even the stigma towards BTS. A beautiful song from a beautiful man.

As a Jimin fan I agree , this album was so NOT Jimin , as it is was a far cry from cutie , sexy, lovely Jimin we know , but it was SO Jimin in terms of attention to detail , the effort to tell his story and express what he wants to and pushing boundaries. It was exactly what I imagined Jimin the artist to be. So I was so happy to listen to the album.

Like Crazy does have a full choreo but they chose not to include it in the MV, which i think is SUCH a FASCINATING choice. And i think they wanted the trippy emotive vibe the video has that you described to speak for itself and not have choreo pull away from it. There's the Jimmy Fallon performance, Music Bank, KBS, and Studio Choom performances and the dance practice of Like Crazy. I HIGHLY recommend watching at least one of them so you can see the choreo because it's LOVELY! I really love this song, it's so great.

To me Like crazy is more about escapism, just what people usually can do when they don't want to accept reality - get drunk and lost in the lights of the party and finally feel alive tho they're "wasting time". Especially bearing in mind that Jimin wrote this during pandemic (and a whole album is kind of a pandemic diary) and said himself that he used to drink a lot being alone at that time. One interesting thing I noticed just now watching this reaction. There is a lot of light flickering in the video, literally in almost every frame it flashes. It gave me a feeling of nervousness, anxiety, panic. It is not strong, quite subtle in some parts, but is always there in a background. Like an underlying feeling of anxiety, which is always with you, wherever you are.

For a very long time I had lost interest in music. I still listened every day hoping I could find someone or someone's that could make me feel again but nothing for over a year now. I can only listen to my favourite songs so many times but even they were not giving me the emotions that they used to or music once gave me. I was about to turn away for a while but then Jimin announced his album & I have been waiting ever since. I have been waiting for years for an entire album of Jimins voice, a voice that moved me like none other. Let's just say that on laying down, earphones on, eyes closed, I sobbed listening to FACE. I felt everything. Music is wonderful, it can make you cry, jump up and down, headbang, dance romantically, it brings so many emotions so FACE did this for me after I had lost interest. I could feel the music, something I hadn't felt in a long time. I felt his pain instead of just hearing it, Jimin literally had me on my knees sobbing my fucking heart out and exhausting those tears to the point I was all cried out until I listened to it a second time and it happened again. Yes, it's still happening now and I thank Jimin from the bottom of my heart for giving this to us and making these emotions surface again.

Wow! It’s amazing to see someone feel the same way I do, I teared up reading your comment. I’m the same. My music is very important to me, but I’m only able to listen to music that moves me. My playlist was getting worn out and I was desperately searching for a song to make me feel. Jimin’s voice has always moved me. There’s just something about it that’s addictive, so I was excited for his album. When I heard set me free, I cried. Then when I heard the whole album, I cried and knew I had to buy it. I felt it, I felt his emotions through song. Something I wasn’t able to feel in a long time. The album is his story, laid bare, no marketing or gimmicks to make it popular….just his story. I lost a couple friends during the pandemic, and the pain was like no other. In fact, to distract myself from it was how I found out about BTS in the first place. It takes a lot of strength to put yourself out there, both his fans and his haters are essentially seeing his emotions laid bare. I respect his bravery and this album.

it is Jimins dark time in the pandemic where he got drunk every Night and was depressed. he woke up and looked at him self and realized how messed up he has gotten. so he wrote this song to explain his dark time. you can see how lonely and sad he looks when he is awake, with mud on the floor and him starring out into the air. and then the hand crap him and he is sucked in to his own mind where he can forgets it all, and everything is nice, and he want to stay there. his drunken mind. and when he wakes up he return to the chair like nothing happened. like he return to reality and everything is the same. depressed again.

It is very interesting how different people have complete different perception of a single peace of art. I understood this song completely differently. But maybe because we are project ourselves into the art we encounter. To me, this is him being incredibly depressed and trying to run from his darkness and depression by drowning himself into an intoxicated state, forgetting how lonely he is. He rather be lost in the lights than face the darkness within him. It's a very self destructive state of mind. I am way too familiar with this mode of being. And while I have came a long way in my healing journey, this song touches such an injured part of me, which makes me feel hurt and seen at the same time. And btw this song has a full choreo. And it is my favorite choreography of this year. Smooth and unbearably sexy, yet vulnerable. So is this song, so is Jimin.

About what you guys said here 36:01 -- there's a theory going around since immediately after the premiere that "She" in the beginning is referring to Jimin. The song talks a lot about "reflections", especially in the English version, and in the choreography he mirrors a female dancer in the second verse as if she were his reflection in the mirror. In the album tagline and in his live, he talked about the meaning of the word "FACE" as the act of "facing" something, and specifically of facing unfamiliar versions of himself. In the music video, there's a woman in a few shots before the second verse that mirrors all of Jimin's shots, and they come face to face with each other before it cuts to him looking in the mirror. That same woman is the one who grabs him in the very beginning of the MV with her hand covered in mud, and at the very end of the MV he comes back in with *his* hand covered in mud, too. There's a lot more to this theory, but to address you guys' comments that it seems like he's talking to himself even when he says "She", there's a possibility that that was his intention, and "She" is actually still him. (this also follows pretty smoothly from the message in his performances of Filter, too)

YES! The theory she's his anima! We know BTS dive into Jungian theory, and I don't think it's a coincidence his album cover mimics the circles of Jung's map of the soul. We know he's reflecting from his time during the pandemic, so it'd make sense how that means he looks into himself to comprehend it. So fascinating.

@@Jldan22 even more than that, i rly think jimin has used his performances and music to reflect on his gender expression beyond just the inner world of the animus-anima theory, to talk about his personal life and experience of gender and sexuality. im not interested in assigning an identity or label to him, but i think he’s been making it very clear in his art in the past few years that this is an important theme and topic to him, and i really appreciate seeing that in Like Crazy, too

I think you guys nailed that he feels “like crazy” being torn between two versions of himself: Idol Jimin, who seems to thrive in the spotlight, his fame/hubris reaching dizzying heights, and true Jimin, who’s on the verge of losing himself, perpetually trapped behind a mask. When he tries to pull fame-flushed Jimin out of the spotlight, his other self doesn’t want to wake up; the video flows in reverse, and the walls come back up. He doesn’t have time to hold true Jimin’s hand, he’s too busy living the dream. This MV is a power struggle-if true Jimin loses then the hand of temptation grabs him again, and he’s falling, falling, falling. And if idol Jimin loses then he also loses the ability to dream, possibly forever, having lost the highest high he’ll ever achieve. Idol Jimin is a seduction, the promise of a good time, but he always ends up alone at the end of the night. He can’t ever slow down, he pushes people aside to get where he needs to go, he starts to believe in his polished “face” and forgets what he’s supposed to look like underneath. And when he goes back home, where he’s supposed to be true Jimin again, the muck of his other life is still all over him. He’s pretending that he can enjoy normalcy but he’s become addicted to an idol’s lifestyle. He’s not true Jimin anymore-his hands are dirty now. This song is also inspired by the movie 'Like Crazy' and its depiction of irresolvable tension between an entangled pair. In that opening whispered conversation, one seems dramatic, romantic, certain-“I think we can last forever-just trust me” and one is terrified that this promise is too good to be true, that it’s unsustainable-“I’m afraid that everything will disappear.” Jimin uses this narrative about a rocky relationship-a turmoil that is both addictive and damaging, a temptation that urges one to live in the moment and not slow down to consider the big picture-as a one-to-one for his relationship with his own fame, and with his stage persona. This MV is designed to seem sexy; he’s emphasizing the full extent of the temptation that fame offers, the glitter of his fulfilled dream distracting from the intensely lonely and debilitating lifestyle. It mimics the way infatuation often seems to make up for fundamental flaws in a relationship, the high peaks overshadowing the low valleys. In love, like fame, the rewards have to feel worth the inevitable suffering. If the cost starts to outweigh the benefit-well, you’d be crazy to keep pursuing such a painful dream (hence the title). And Jimin often examines himself through the lens of duality or multiplicity. In his past lyrics he depicts himself as a liar, always in conflict, wearing different faces or filters, which trend and shift as his audience’s tastes change. He’s always exposing the boundary between truth and persona. Bisecting himself is the only way he can reconcile the fallible human truth of who he is with what he’s become-mega-famous, an idol (in the full, worshipful sense of that word) who is lauded, hounded, awarded, surrounded, critiqued, overworked, and utterly dependent on the whims of strangers and strictures of his company’s branding. This album is simply titled “Face,” and its jacket art is a ripple in a silvery reflection. There’s a disruption in that reflection, and whatever conflict is happening below is now beginning to warp the surface. Duality is a big headline in BTS's discography, alongside their emphasis on personas, shadows, and masks. This song is itself operating on multiple levels, superficially about the movie 'Like Crazy,' and visually about drowning your sorrows and losing yourself in the allure of the party/high, but subtextually about the torment of fame and its reliance on manipulating people’s perceptions. He’s so high that he has no choice but to anticipate the fall, it’s the inevitable result of wanting something to the point of obsession, the final stage of being driven (like) crazy. The BTS brand is often about simplicity and marketability on its face. Fun, industry compliant songs and videos that service the fans as well as appealing to the masses, with popular features, broadly applicable titles, and plausibly deniable themes. And then, if you’re looking, there’s always this wealth of real artistic merit, introspection, humility, and self-awareness brewed into the art they’re making. It’s phenomenal to peel it all apart. Anyway I know literally no one’s going to read this essay but your commentary (and Jimin’s craft) really got me thinking!

Yes, this was 💯 sultry 80s vibe!😀 I’d recognize that sound anywhere!!! (note the signature 80s mullet) but Jimin put his modern, special ‘stamp’ on it! This brings back old memories! He makes me want to go back to that era and experience it all over again! He does have a fully English version of this song on his album, by the way. 😊 Notice the words “Set Me Free” on the bathroom wall?! Notice also the two females in an intimate posture in infrared…that’s significant. To me, the meaning behind this song is so deep…it’s about escapism from his troubles - all the negative voices in his head and the depression he had during the pandemic; but then realizing at the end of it (the partying) he’s still alone and nothing is resolved - the troubles don’t go away. Though it was a party scene, I didn’t feel it had a happy vibe…it was emotionally sad to me. I think the mud represents the physical manifestation of the toxicity that surrounded him. Just my opinion.☺️ Though some people think this story line is copied from the movie ‘Like Crazy’ he said it INSPIRED him to write this song. I don’t believe it’s about a relationship at all! The girl is a mirror image of him. If you watch the choreo created for this song, you’ll see what I mean. ***This whole album is just incredible!!! Phenomenal!!! Jimin is a superstar!! 💜🐥👼🏻

"he says she but it's not actually /her/, he talks to himself" the person who pulls him into the club with a muddy hand wears a leather jacket, like the girl we see later in the mv in focus. you can see that jimin and her are mirrored, they are walking towards each other and meet in the center, like when you meet your reflection when walking up close to the mirror. and right after they met we transition to the next scene where he literally looks in the mirror and talks about his reflections. the choreography also includes a mirrored dance with a her-reflection-figure. i thought it could be taken in a romantic plot way BUT you would expect that main character of the mv meeting a girl in a club will lead to some more romantic visual story development, but in Like Crazy it doesn't. it actually goes even more introspective after that also want to mention that Face had two versions: software and hardware. software photo concept showed Jimin more vulnerable, hurt, soft, in light and calm colors, kind of similar to his image in the room when he sits by the table. hardware showed him more guarded, stoic, almost cold or invincible in *black leather jacket*

Given what Jimin told us about the song in different videos and his weverse live and my own interpretation of the lyrics, I think Like Crazy is about escapism. I find the message to be very relatable as it is something I have experience with. We know this album is about his feelings throughout the lockdown, and it's clear he wasn't feeling the best. In Suchwita, he talked about drinking a lot at that time. I think this song talks about those experiences, using alcohol to run away from reality. And not wanting that haze of when you are drunk to end even though you know it's not good for you. It's not good to always want to escape reality, so at some point, you have to wake up from that dream. I find it to be a very relatable song as escapism can come in many forms, and like I said, I have experiences with it if of my own. It's comforting to know you're not alone. We all want to escape reality sometimes. If we get more into the MV and the lyrics, this is my interpretation of some parts. I think the "she" he is singing about at the start, and the girl in the video are all Jimin himself. But they are his other personalities (idk how to explain this but like, different parts of him). At the start "she" is telling him it's okey to not think about it. "It" being reality. "There's not a bad thing here tonight" meaning, in the haze of being drunk, you can be happy and let go of all your worries. "Stay with me, just for today" is the themptation (she) telling him to stay drunk, to not wake up from the dream. Cause if you do, you're back to reality. Later he sings "a cliché story like a drama, I'm getting used to it" He's been escaping reality for so long now, it's normal to him. "Did I come too far to find the me you used to know?" He is loosing himself in this dream he created for himself. I think the chorus talks about the feeling of letting yourself enter this dream. But then there is the "oh i'm fallin" line in the background, warning him that he can't stay in the dream forever The girl in the video is his reflection, his other self (that's why they never meet each other) In the verse right after it he looks into the mirror and also talks about his reflection. "My reflection within the mirror, I'm going endlessly crazy". Again, I think this talks about him being aware that he is indulging in escapism, but he also loves it -> "I'm feeling so alive, wasting time" It's his two personalities being in conflict with each other. This comes back in the bridge/ending chorus. (Idk what to call it exactly). There he is talking to himself; "This will break me, this is gonna break me" Again showing he is aware he needs to get back to reality. "No don't you wake me, I wanna stay in this dream. Don't save me,don't you try to save me. I need a way we, I need a way we can dream on." At the end of the day he still longs for this feeling of being in a dream. Of being carefree and happy without the troubles of everyday life being on his mind. The way I interpret it, the lyrics are also a vicious cicle. At the end he is aware that he needs to wake up, but he wants to keep the dream going, so he indulges in escapism again. At that point the "she" from the start of the song comes back, saying it is okey. "Stay with me, just for tonight" And thus he convinces himself to indulge again, leading into the rest of the lyrics once more. It's a perfect portrayal of how hard it is to break the cycle and pull yourself out of such a mindset. Something else I want to mention about the visual aspect and my interpretation is that at the start, when he get's pulled away by the mud covered hand, I think this is the "she" the temptation, pulling him onto escapism again. But at the end, you see Jimin's own hand is covered in mud, thus showing that he is pulling himself in again and again. He convinces himself it is okey to indulge in escapism. That's also why his apartment is muddy, it's his own doing. I also think the stockholm shirt is on purpose, indeed hinting at stockholm syndrome and the "falking for your captor" aspect. It's him falling for the escape that "she" offers him.

As a stand alone, this song could mean about holding on to something you consider happy moments but actually just in superficial level, like "there's nothing wrong here but everything is actually wrong behind all these smiles and party vibes" so Jimin is trying to hold on to that superficial level but he knows deep down the pretending won't last forever, something has to give in and it's breaking something in him upon realizing that those moments he considered happy aren't actually sincere. You should listen to the whole album (EP). The track list is arranged to like a series of events and you will find out more why Like Crazy is the way it is and you will appreciate Set Me Free pt2 even more, like I didn't know it's possible, i was in love with SMF PT2 more than Like Crazy but after hearing the whole EP, my appreciation went to a different level. I'm inlove with the whole album

The whole EP is about self realization about outside factors and how he dealt with it. Some people consider this video of him reflecting on his inner persona or sexuality or gender identity. The girl in leather jacket representing a part of him he's trying not to think about, and if you see the choreography you will appreciate more this interpretation. His black leather pants also showed pictures of a gay couple known in fahsion and photography and can only be bought in specific type of shops, lol. Jimin had a hand in everything about this work. From lyrics that he wrote himself to overseeing the production of the song to modifying the choreography to his satisfaction to making suggestions about the MV. Interestingly enough, jimin was vulnerable and bare in this EP but at the same time leftbyou clueless at what actually happened lol. He's amazing. I can't wait for his full album, he's hinting he will drop another album. Watch the dance choreography for Like Crazy too.

@@guinevererodrigo3653 jimin himself said this is about his personal struggles he experienced during the pandemic. He made this album more like to get it out of his system, he actually planned to just release it as a mixtape then they finally decided to go on hiatus (for military enlistment) and his producers are like "no, release this as an album" so that's what he did. He actually wanted a visual album (since the EP is basically just four full songs) but Hybe told him it's too much so he just went with two MVs.

@@cherriesforjm9145 Just a slight correction, the pictures on his pants are two self portraits of Robert Mapplethorpe (from 1982 and 1980 respectively) and not of a gay couple. Mapplethorpe was a gay photographer who took highly provocative photos of gay bdsm subculture, other photos that challenged ideas of gender, among other things. Jimin's recent photofolio also seems to be inspired by his work.

I am so happy that Jimin has inspired you to keep on being you. I wish you much success in your endeavors. Jimin did not have it easy. He was almost kicked out of BigHits 8 times before his debut only becoming a BTS member the day before they performed. BigHits did not give him any vocal training because they had not decided to keep him. He asked V and JK if he could listen in on their vocal training sessions. Afterwards he would go off to himself and practiced what the vocal coach told V and Jk to do. With no official vocal training, Jimin still became the lead vocalist. He was often critized because his voice cracked or he ran out of breathe. All the other members had 2 to 3 years of vocal training but Jimin was self taught at the time. He also had the hardest choreography. He did most of the tricks and he would travel from one end to the other end and in-between the dance. Jimin trained in Hip Hop and Kpop in his early years and even won a few competitions. He then decided to train in contemporary dance and was at the top of his class but he said this changed how he moved his body. Since BigHits was Hip Hop/Kpop, his body movement didn't quite fit their idea of dance and why he was almost let go but thank heaven they decided to keep him. It is said that no one can move like Jimin nor can he be duplicated. I believe this is all due to his training over the years. He trained in Taekwondo and became a black belt in it. He also train in Kendo (fencing) for 8 years as well as other martial arts. He trained in ballet and Japanese dance and other dance styles. I believe this is why his dance is so unique. He is known to be one of the best dancers in the world. I think his body feels the music and he just follows it. I recommend you watch his videos Jimin Main Dancer and Jimin Lead Vocalist. There are more videos about his dancing, singing, and martial arts training if you are interested. I find this man completely fascinating. Jimin has become who he is today through sheer hard work and determination. Jimin never gave up even through all the criticism. I want to give his BTS members credit for always encouraging him on. They have all contributed to his success. Thanks BTS!

@@shanjida609 My intention was to give Jimin praise for all his hard work. He said himself that he was almost let go from the group 8 times before he made it into the BTS group not the company. He also said that he ask V and JK if he could sit in on their vocal training sessions and they said yes. They did not have to let him come and listen to their vocal class. RM helped him with writing his songs and guided him on how to write what you know in the beginning and even with Jimin's new song Like Crazy, RM helped him write it and will also get credit for his part as a writer. I am not sure if he helped him with the Korean version but RM said he helped him write this song. I did see where Jimin said he ask RM to help him write the English version. Suga encouraged Jimin to learn how the music production worked behind the scenes. I forget exactly what this was called but he was assigned to get each person in the groups ideas and what to keep and what to throw out. Jimin said he really appreciated Suga insisting on him doing that because he learned a lot. JHope and Jimin said they learn a lot from each other as they shared their knowledge. So this is not something I made up. I am sure Jimin also contributed to their success to. They all helped each other in what areas one might be lacking in to make them the success they are today. It took all of them working as a team and this does not take away from any of them. They all agree Jimin is the hardest working but they all work hard. Do your research and you will discover how they helped each other. I suggest you start with the videos I suggested above.

Do your research if you think the members didn't help Jimin. As I stated above, they all helped Jimin in one way or another and he helped them too. I believe if it had not been for Jimin, the group would have remained true Hip Hop/Kpop but because of Jimin's advanced training in different dance styles and his martial arts skills, he taught them how to move and how to captivate their audiences. I believe all the members would have been very successful as a Hip Hop/Kpop group or as individuals but it took Jimin to make them who they are today. I think it took each member and their unique styles and talents to made up this group working together as one, sharing their ideas to make them the #1 band in the world. The key is they worked together as one and not as individual trying to stand out above the other.

I've been anticipating this reaction so much! And I'm glad you did a third reaction to really digest it, but ahhh, I was so hoping you would notice that shortly after we see the woman (you know which one), she and Jimin circle around each other on the dancefloor, finally facing off just as we cut to Jimin looking at his reflection in the mirror. She's wearing a black leather jacket, indicating that hers is the hand that grabs him and pulls him into the club scene at the beginning. She's his reflection he "can't even recognize" as the lyrics say, which also echoes the album concept: "Face, the reflection of myself in an unfamiliar appearance." Her black leather outfit is also similar to Jimin's hardware concept photos, not to mention she even kind of looks like Jimin. Jimin's muddy hand at the end just affirms this. That's to say nothing of the choreography, which makes it even more apparent that she's his reflection. For additional queer-coding, see the Mapplethorpe pants in the MV, the Jean-Paul Gautier body-print pants in Jimin's software concept photos, the Philip Johnson (architect of the glass house) poster in Jimin's playlist video, the Rainer Maria Rilke poem in Set Me Free pt.2, and what else? I'm probably missing more things...

♦Jimin mentioned that one of his fav movies “Like Crazy” inspired parts of the song aside from the title of song. In the beginning as well as ending to the song, he even samples excerpts from it. Jimin has also said that many of the songs on the album convey what he was going through, his thoughts, his feelings, his emotions as well as despair & depression, during the pandemic in the last few yrs. He also was hoping that maybe it could help others by way of relating & going through similar difficulties during pandemic. So this song Like Crazy, could also be during that time, thinking back while laying his head down, on table in that depressing small room, dreaming of the better times in the past, when he was free to enjoy himself, as well as being with someone or with friends, or even around ppl in general, being able to be free to go out & party. Which is why he even said in the lyrics please don’t wake me up from this dream. I want to stay here.. Maybe that was what all the dirty grimyness also represented, despair of situation, how he felt or how things were at that time, even when it seemed to even ooze into his dream state.

I personally feel that some of this is a reference to alcohol, he said that he drank a lot when he was going through such a hard time, using it as an escapism. I mean you probably know that when drunk it masks your reality, sometimes it can make you feel great, giggly, dancy & other times you can fall into a dark place. Once the alcohol wears off he's back to normality/reality where the days repeat themselves all over again. I've used alcohol in such a way too, to take me out of the self hatred & reality but this song will make much more sense when you listen to the entire album. I also believe that "Lost in the lights" could be referencing that he's happy when on stage performing but then after he's all alone again. Hence "Drive".

Jimin stated that this album is about when we all were in lockdown with Covid. To me, he is home stuck with all the darkness or shit on the floor and drinking and going crazy cause he can't go out and do all the things he is doing in the video. The hand with the mud may be the dark side of emotions he faced during this time in his life. Now since this is the main track, he is trapped in 4 walls, the last track "Set Me Free" is when the lockdown is lifted and he is proclaiming that he is free and he is not going to let anyone stop him from living his life and being free to want he wants since he was trapped. Boy did he let everything free!!!!!

Jimin is VERY modest and humble. He never praises himself. From my understanding, this is a very traditional way to behave in Korea. In general, he does not have low self-esteem or disbelief in himself. If he did, he would never have aimed for entrance into an arts high school, never gone to an idol audition, never worked as hard as he did throughout the years (and still does). There are very few times that he has been vocal about his ambitions. Festa 2021 comes to mind, where he said that he had achieved all his goals so far. Or when he told his father that no matter what, he would make it. In all his interviews, he has said that the album is about the feelings he went through during the pandemic. Until he says differently, everything else is pure speculation.

Wow you guys really went into a deep dive there! 😅 What I love about BTS MVs is how its so well done and just invites interpretation, analysis and breakdowns all on its own. What I got from my initial watch was that Jimin was going through a breakdown, maybe because of someone else, a relationship, himself or just life and he wanted to get through it by being lost in a dream (I assumed the club was inside his head, since we see a shot of him dejected that seems less warped) where's he can get drunk and not confront whats happening. And in the end with the whisper 'alone again, whats the point' he's kind of resigned that its not a sustainable option of surviving. Because even when he's inside the club, the black goo (which I interpreted as his clouded, dark and negative emotions) keeps spilling through. And after listening to this after hearing him say this was how he felt during the pandemic and in the context of the entire album, it does make sense! But ofcourse, interpretation is entirely upto the listener. There were even some very well thought out analyses on how it could be about him trying to come to terms with the feminine side to him (the girl in black being that reflection), fully embracing it in order to be himself; with the choreography kind of adding to it. So yes, all theories valid! I'm just in awe of how he created a masterful piece of art that is so detailed yet seems so simple at the same time. Truly amazing how far Jimin has come!
