As a Kihyun fan this is a debut befitting him. It leans into his rock aesthetic especially his Imagine Dragons covers. It’s very American pop/rock influenced and would be great on the radio. I can easily listen to this track blaring as I drive on the highway windows down on a “voyage”. Love the guitar riffs, drum beats and the piano tinkling thru the song. All 3 songs on this album are great. Kihyun for me was a real revelation in Rain - a more moody, darker track. I love the way his voice changes thru the song. Definitely give it a listen as a Kihyun fan, you’ll truly appreciate him even more!

voyager is so KIHYUN!!!! he loves pop rock and always wanted a solo like this! i’m so glad sse didn’t push him to do a ballad, but let him make the music he really wanted! the rest of the album is just equally amazing!!!!

As a monbebe and someone who’s listened to his covers, I am not surprised at all by the choice of sound, this is exactly what I wanted and hoped to receive from him. This feels like such an honest and authentic self expression, I truly believe that this is the style of music he gravitates towards and I’m glad to see him do what he enjoys. I’m such a fan of the debut and the b-sides are great also!

As a fan of his I couldn’t imagine him doing anything other than rock. I feel like he always gravitates towards that genre when he does covers and suggests songs. He absolutely killed it.

I agree with everything you said! BUT regarding the MV and the suggestion you gave about it ending in a huge stage with lights and stuff: What I understand from the MV is that he's struggling and having a hard time being a celebrity (that's why you see a lot of newspapers with his face on it, he's doing interviews, etc at the beginning of the MV) and then, when he leaves and starts to travel, he discovers this small band just playing and having fun. He joins and starts enjoying music again. That's why I think they end it in a garage, just them, no people, but smiling and having a good time :)

I'm a BIG Monsta X fan and honestly I was expecting Kihyun's solo to be rock since he enjoys that genre the most, I just gotta say even though I now how an amazing singer Kihyun is he never fails to amaze me, every single time I just end up being surprised of how amazing he is as an artist

Both his aura and voice screams rocker, his voice has always just been so naturally powerful he truly is a gem! (He also effortlessly blends right into doing RnB, we love a vocal chameleon)

Kihyun always talked about wanting to do rock songs, he’s covered a few rock group songs already. I wasn’t surprised by this rock solo debut because of that, but I kinda was surprised because I really thought this would be a slower song from the teaser pics. Totally got Dramarama vibes from the running parts too! I love his voice so much in this song.

I'm so Happy he didn't give us a plain ballad and went for what he wanted to do a rock pop song, I'm so proud of being a monbebe he really gave us THE BEST. I didn't listen to the other two songs but I know they're both different and sound amazing too. He truly emerged himself while doing his songs I loved how he describes them in his interview. Can't wait for his promotions to begin cause I'm sure he's gonna do band stages and I waited so long for them to give me something with live band!

There's a reason why the sign I took to MX's concert a couple years back simply said "VOCAL GOD KIHYUN" (with a singing hamster 😄). Of the 3 songs you reacted to today, PD, this is hands down my favorite. I always appreciate a main vocalist who understands that ballads aren't the only way to show off their voices, even more so when it's my bias. Voyager is a 8/10 for me. It's a really good song to attract main stream listeners. But the two b-sides on the album absolutely slayed, both 10/10 or even 11/10. I think , (Comma) is the first song he wrote himself and listening to it brought me to tears.

Among all of their solo you can really see the different colors they have as an individual like Jooheon rap sound, Changkyun more RnB sound, and Kihyun more Pop-Rock sound, also Wonho more funky future base sound

I LOVE Voyager. I think it was a perfect song for Kihyun since he loves indie-rock and had always wanted to do a song in that genre. I also think it was a great song for his journey as an idol and idk if it was intentional or not, but filming on the same street as the Dramarama MV is really symbolic of his journey to success since it was the song that got Monsta X their first one. I just really enjoyed the song and wholeheartedly agree with the 10/10 rating! ☺️

i feel the same way about this as i do about d.o releasing an acoustic r&b album which is that if you've been paying attention you know this is the kind of music they like lol this is very in line with kihyun's past covers so i am not shocked at all by the genre. overall for the album i was hoping he would do more in his low range but at least he wasn't screaming all the time and got to show more vocal diversity than he typically does in mx songs. i liked it very much!

Kihyun is an amazing singer! I've been fan of kpop since 2008 and I absolutely can admit that he is one of the best singers in the industry.

Kihyun has always said he liked songs with upbeat pop/rock (Mx Jackson alike) live bands/ instruments and rock as a genre itself. I’m incredibly proud of him and the dedication he put into this whole album and debut. He’s the K in kpop

Was super excited for this solo, and he didn't disappoint! I'm new to Monsta X and have always loved that they dip their toes into the rock genre every now and then. As a side note, I'd love to hear Sungjin of Day6 cover this he's got a great raspy voice that fits the sound of this!

I feel like the ending of the mv matches really well with the meaning of the song as well as the album tho, basically the whole album is mostly about Kihyun’s passion about music, in the mv we see all the fame being overwhelming for him etc until he finds the band that doesn’t care that the restaurant is empty and they just perform because they are passionate about it and Kihyun gets to find himself again and realize why he’s a singer, not for the fame but because it’s his passion, so performing in an empty room shows that he sings for himself, not for the fans, not for the paparazzi but for himself

I think he could easily break into American music charts as a solo artist if he ever decided to do that. Monsta X has already done really well with that, I would like to see Kihyun do that as a soloist too.

Kihyun did an amazing job. He is my favorite vocalist on KPop. He mentioned that he wanted to do more rock before. The song is exactly what I imagined he would do for his first solo track. Love him so much and can’t wait to see him for the 4th time with Monsta X in LA in June. Those who have never seen them perform are missing out on a very special group.

when i heard he was releasing a solo album i was praying to the heavens for him to get out of the ballad comfort zone and he DELIVERED. the song is so good and the bridge is insane for me. I was so satisfied there werent any extreme high notes or like u said him ruining his vocal chords lol! soo happy he decided to go down this route just to show how versatile his voice can be. definitely one of my favourite releases so far in 2022!

I love the reaction, like everybody says monsta x as a group or seperate they have their own musical genre.

Weird to say but Kihyun was a grower on me in Monsta X - like bias wise. I loved every member equal from the start whereas Kihyun made me think "yeah you got a really great voice n so on, but you don't fit in." I watched their content, interviews etc. and like I said he didn't got the vibe that the other MXs had. So I always put him on the last place about member ranking in terms of likability. Now I really can blame myself for being young and dumb and not appreciate him. It's like I just randomly picked ihm as one member to "hate" on. Irony coming poppin': Kihyun was often the reason I laughed watching MXs content, extra videos, him as a person has so many positive points - infinite. He additionally was of course one voice that made me love their songs so much. And I noticed: Kihyun doesn't sing deepy or whisperly many times, but in "Last Carnival" and "Sorry I'm not Sorry" he exactly did it using such a beautiful tone of his voice... I adore it so so sooo much. NOW I love em all XD and Kihyun has like every member a special place in my heart * he is one of my biases^-^
