The song itself was solely written by the leader castle j (the one with the higher voice of the rapper) and is also able to produce and arrange songs. They are TOP Medias newest boy group, the company that brough us teen top, 100% and UP10TION! And their choreographer, is just for any other top media idol, Choi Yung Jun! And they recently released a new single called spring! (that means please react to it too as its really different)

Also I'm really confused lmao. BIC is my bias in this group and when I first saw this music video the first thing I noticed was his hair. It didn't stand out to me in a bad way looool I thought it looked really nice on him. I'm black and I live in a black community and I don't see anything wrong with his hair. I haven't seen any other black reactors say anything about his hair either, it's all non-blacks who are hating on him for his hair. I think he really suits it and I don't see it as culture appropriation but I see it as him appreciating black culture but I do understand the other people can feel a different way about it. It's literally just braids lool I see NOTHING wrong with him wearing them. It's his hair and he can style it how he wants! (Even tho I know they have hair stylists lmfao) Also black people literally put on straight blonde wigs and you don't see white people saying that we're copying them, this whole situation just really frustrates me.

Also, thanks for putting words to my thoughts, I knew they had a different vibe to their title tracks/singles compared to the other rookie boy groups but I couldn't quite figure out what it was until you said it's more of a girl group type of song, specifically the shout/sing type of chorus. I also agree with what you said about them being a performance focused/driven group, I've also noticed that watching all 3 M/Vs, around 75% of the video are dance shots, focusing on the point dances.

Minjae (the guy who smiles well) and Huijin (the other vocalist, the one without the bad hairstyle) were on the show The Fan together as a duo (itzy's Yeji was on this show as well and Boa was one of the judges). Minjae always seemed like he had so much fun dancing and singing on stage so I feel like he really does feel happy to be there. You should check out their handclap performance in your spare time, it is my favourite of theirs and really shows their talents well.
