Filmed on Monday 24th December 2018
After many equipment issues on previous vlogs and even a couple of vlogs completely ruined because of kit failures, I decided to get some new bits and pieces that would provide better quality videos and simplify the whole process.
Therefore it's been quite a while since my last video but I needed to get things right. And I also wanted the weather to be good on the first outing with this new gear.
Christmas Eve was the day I chose. It was forecast glorious sunshine all day and for once the forecasters got it right; it was perfect. Finn and I spent the day around the Langdale Pikes. I selected a route that would take in Raven Crag, Loft Crag, Pike o' Stickle, Thunacar Knott, Harrison Stickle, Pavey Ark and Pike Howe.
This part of the Lake District never disappoints and on days like these it can only be described as heavenly.

The photograph of the mist in the valley bottom is superb. 😍 I like the interesting fact about the Neolithic axe production. The drone shots around the great mound of Pike O' Stickle and the view of Stickle Tarn are great! Thank you to you and your Zoom Buddy Finn. 🐕🐕🐕

You're videos are bloody excellent! I like your delivery. You talk with us rather than to us. Also you are providing an excellent reference and guide for us all. Lakeland Tourism should be paying you royalties!

Hi there I'm planning a trip to explore the Central Fells and the Langdales in April... your work is absolutely amazing. What photography! I can't wait to get up there and can only hope the weather is kind. Thank you so much. You capture the atmosphere and strength of those mountains so well. 👏

You had me at “brunch”! I imagined you and Finn tucking into salmon and scrambled eggs with a Bloody Mary. Fantastic film, Glenn. I lived at Skelwith Bridge for three years so a quick access to Langdale on such days was a great privilege.

I've visited the Lake District on 3 occasions (twice this year) so consider myself slightly ignorant of what's where but I'm getting such a wonderful perspective from your vlogs and feel more informed and better equipped to explore the Lakes when I next come up. Thank you so much, I appreciate your time and effort, keep up the vlogs.

Fantastic film & love the camera work. Id say one of the best I've seen so far on you tube as it gives a much better perspective of your walk & what you are seeing. Brilliant. Heading up there on that very route this weekend so your film has helped me out. Can you tell me what camera you use to film while your walking? Thanks & subscribed

Wow! That 360 camera makes a huge difference to the perspective of the videos. Would be interested to hear what new kit you invested in? How did you record the audio as well, was it using an external mic?
@BlackCrag

Thanks very much Jake. Yeah, the 360 opens up so many possibilities when it comes to filming alone in places like that. The new kit was the 360 camera, instead of my phone. And also the external lav mic (Rode Smartlav) which is just brilliant!
