Larry Raveling recounts his story of how he nabbed his monster, non-typical buck. Known as the “Rag Horn” buck, Larry’s awesome non-typical is one of the most classic ever taken. This buck scores 282 0/8 and stood for 30 years as the Iowa state record non-typical.

Harvesting a buck of that magnitude is simply a once-in-a-lifetime experience! Many of us will never even SEE a buck of that caliber, let alone actually shoot one! INCREDIBLE DEER!!

I have a real hard time with deer drives, on one hand, you didn't do anything to earn that deer other than stomp around the woods and spook it up to shoot it. Theres very little thought to it. But on the other hand it's legal, and people love it. The hunter in me is ok with it, but the conservationist in me thinks that it's not even hunting.

As a bow only hunter. I believe pushing/ driving deer should be outlawed. Deer should ONLY be hunted in their natural patterns.

Amazing buck but pretty crappy of him to say that he didn't care about the meat he just wanted the head to mount. That's pretty low.

farmerallis i disagree i think as long as you donate it or use it some way and your hunting for bone strictly then its ok...at the end of the day your still hunting to hunt

farmerallis if this deer was roaming my property and I told you that you could hunt and shoot it, but the kicker is you have to throw all the meat in the garbage, you without a doubt would. Anyone would. Don't give us your tree hugger bull crap

hell yeah jeff ree...everyone today is so easily offended...in the woods nothing goes to waste...every critter that eats meat gets a great feast from any deer that dies of natural causes or not retrieved by a hunter..

So say you shoot a buck that was shot before and wasn’t fatal. You’d find who shot it before and give it to him?

Another drive with a bunch of guys scaring the shit out of everything in the woods, is not hunting. Nice deer, but not fair chase, imo. Also, shooting deer using bait is not hunting, it's an ambush after they've been conditioned to come to your stand.
