It’s funny how Da Bomb has twice the heat level of the last dab but it comes first

My guess as to why it's not as hot as other sauces is because this one is as hot as it gets without the use of capsaicin extracts. Sauces like DA Bomb etc...use extracts to inflate the spice level beyond what the actual peppers in the sauce can provide

I had the same experience. The flavor was amazing for an “extreme” hot sauce. But it took a large dab for it to kick in. Compared to Da Bomb, which is disgusting. But a teaspoon had my ears burning.

I think the last dab is actually supposed to be a “normal sauce” whereby there isn’t pure “spicyness” added, just whatever comes from the pepper, and it should taste nice as well with different flavours not just plain paint stripper specifically formulated to burn every cell in your digestive tract. I also think because the last dab is so iconic, it should still be edible by the people who will buy it, the general public, so making it like da bomb wouldn’t sell well

i bought one of their packs that had a few different types in it.. the classic tastes amazing. and barbacoa was more like a bbq sauce with some minor heat (still good). And then one of the last dabs which was a slow builder for heat didn't kick in until like a minute in, while hot nothing compared to Da bomb.

Thanks Ben. My day is better now . Habenaro pepper is the hottest pepper I like. Ghost and reaper are so much hotter . Sontava used to make a pepper sauce with Habenaro carrots and pineapple. Really good . I once got a package of Habenaro for my son and I to try . My hands were burning later from handling them. You did good with the bones

I had The Last Dab a few years back and had the same experience as well. It's medium-hot, definitely not super spicy, but hands-down one of the tastiest hot sauces I've had.

Don't worry about the date - hot sauces don't really go bad. Especially if they're still sealed.

Eh have to take into account on the show the fact that they marinade/coat the wings in the sauce and THEN dab the thing. Like you said it's also the amount. I have had an Indian curry where the guy threw in like god knows how much Cayenne and I was sweating. Just Cayenne but a whole lot of it.

There's absolutely a reason why da bomb is before the last dab on hot ones. Da bomb ignites your mouth on fire and the last dab keeps the burn going.

The last dab apollo is easily the greatest hot sauce ever produced. Not too hot but pure flavor. TRY IT!

The newest last dab is insanely hot. Thats not the newest one thats the one from 3 times ago. They then made apolo and now they have the xperience with the newest pepper x which has even the hottest of hot sauce heads saying its the hottest pure sauce ever made. Gives off vibes of extract heat levels they say. So you need to go get the new one you got the weakest last dab of them all. The one everyone said da bomb is hotter then.

I have had the Apollo sauce which also is not as hot you would expect but the flavor is really good. What I have learned is that the chilli extract messes you up, like in Da Bomb.

I’ve tried da bomb and several others but Dave’s ultimate insanity sauce is still on top heat wise imo.

I will say that holding onto it for 6+ months will reduce the heat but even that being said this sauce isn't "blow your face off" hot, but it does taste good to me

I think the peach and chocolate varieties are only called that because of the color of the pepper, not so much the flavor. There's other "chocolate" pepper varieties that are only called that because they're brown. Purple and white are two other pretty crazy colors peppers can come in. They're nightshades like tomatoes, eggplants, and potatoes. What's even crazier is you an actually graft the root system of a potato to the stem of any of those other three and create a plant that produces two kinds of food at the same time since their systems are compatible. Your top plant will photosynthesize and fruit normally while the potato roots will hydrate the plant and produce tubers like usual.

You should've done a shot of Last Dab as the pièce de résistance. Doesn't have to be a full ounce shot, but definitely something with enough heft to it as you knock it back. Maybe chase it with a bite of wing or something. 😁👍🏼👍🏼

Hey Ben, I’d like to see you try ‘Dave's Gourmet Insanity Private Reserve Hot Sauce Scorpion Pepper Edition 2014’ not sure if there are newer editions to this sauce but it’s suppose to be pretty hot 😅 hiccups usually mean HOT but you breezed through da bomb no problems 🤜🤛

Try putting this sauce in a broth/noodles and it will be much more painful/tasty. I can handle this stuff pretty well on Chicken, but the heat/flavor that you get when you mix it in with something like ramen is pretty wild.

Also - most super hots have a "fruity" aroma/flavor to them, it wouldn't be just the peach. Since this sauce is mostly pure pepper the super hot profile is definitely going to be a bit fruity

I have funny store about the last dab. I went to complex con last year where there was a food area where they had collab with a chicken place. There was a roulette wheel where if you tried the last dab on a piece of chicken you got to spin the wheel, it had different rewards where one is you can get a free bottle of the last dab. I tried it, wasn't as spicy as the celebs made it be, it was an okay flavor, nothing I where I would spend money on it. Spun the wheel and won it. It now stands as a fun party thing.

Ben I got some pretty good shit from NZ, its a brand called Culleys and they have some special real hot chilli sauce. Would love to send some your way.

Can confirm, when I tried Da bomb, I had just a very very very small "dab" of sauce on a chip and needed ice cream and a hug for 30 mins. I eat spicy food too, like it's one of my goto flavors but that felt like someone tazed my mouth.

you also need to remember that the chicken is coated with the sauce and cooked into the meat then they add sauce on top that could be a reason why its not as hot for you, also exp might have watered it down slightly

Hey Ben, sorry if this was mentioned before, but you should check your mic. There's a constant hum that is pretty noticeable with headphones.

The wing is already coated in the last dab sauce, they then add an extra dab as tradition. You started with a naked wing with only a small dab on it. Da bomb is basically pepper spray on a wing though.

Don't they also cook the wings in the sauce first, and then add an extra dab on top of that?
