Arnold Schwarzenegger stars as Sheriff Owens, a disgraced lawman who fled the LAPD to lord over the sleepy border town of Sommerton Junction, which becomes the only thing in the way of an escaped head of a drug cartel's path to freedom in Lionsgate's The Last Stand. @Pyro Head I one handed the .44 4 inch barrel with hot hand loads, which kicks far more than a 500 magnum with a 10 inch barrel, with a muzzle brake. They don't kick as bad as you think. Then again, my grip strength is ridiculous and I have gorilla arms.

I love it how Knoxville shoots the gun with both hands and a little kick. The young cop has earmuffs and shots with both hands and the kick breaks his nose. Then Schwarzenegger grabs the gun with one hand and shoots it with NO kick.

I think it's the fact that he's not just a bodybuilder but apparently to prepare for the first terminator film he learned how to shoot rifles with one hand each (which must've weighed a ton) so a revolver was a cake walk to him.

You know what makes this movie so great? Johnny Knoxville starring in it. It brings that comedy laughter in the movie like no other. I’m plus that action in it as well. The fact that he owns his own weapon armory.

Great film. Not one dull moment. Everything was top shelf here, direction, plot pacing action. The lead and supporting characters carried this very well.

What I actually enjoyed about this film was Arnold's character as the Sheriff. For some reason, I liked how he portrayed himself being a leader of his community a bit more than the action - which was pretty good too.

I actually shot the .500 Magnum one handed and it had some recoil but not to where it flew out of my hand. It was my second time shooting it. It's all about the proper grip and stance

ash liams I am well aware that handguns account for most gun violence. However your assertion that most states don’t allow to have a handgun without a permit is false. You need a permit to carry a pistol in most states, but you can own one with nothing more than a background check, same as a rifle or shotgun. Only difference is you must be 21 as opposed to 18.

Just a great movie. I've watched it at least 10 times and love it more each time. Being a 73 year old male with high blood pressure and heart issues the restaurant scene is my absolute favorite. I eat pretty much the same thing every morning so I found this scene absolutely hilarious. On a scale of 1 to 10 I give this movie a 12.

The Last Stand was stupid, but it was also fun. Arnold was on the right track here: action + comedy + innovative director = entertaining movie. But Arnold's movies since then have been too serious, with generic directors and no pizazz. He needs to go back to the formula of The Last Stand.

What I loved about it was that it never pretended to be realistic. Just good, clean fun with witty lines. I always felt that Arnie did best in the low budget flicks like this one.
