When the original 'The Last Stand' launched on the windows store way back I played it. I ran into a game breaking bug that blocked progress on the 2nd to last level which kind of sucked. I emailed the developer on Thanksgiving night, and he responded 40 minutes later to let me know he'd just fixed it. Crazy response time.

All we knew, is that HERC ended up being pretty realistic antagonists

Being poor and relying only on Free Flash games back when I was a Kid, This game is the first time I felt like I played a real AAA game in my own twisted mind. And that is why this game will forever be in my heart as one of the best flash games of my childhood. Aside from road of the dead.

One of my absolute favorite games from childhood. Still go back and play it every now and then.

TLS: Aftermath is an interesting game. Had a lot of fun with it, but I think it needed some more post release work that never quite materialized. If I had to guess it didn't sell as well as was needed to support further work. Would be really cool to see someone else's thoughts on it.

This and Rebuild were my go-to zombie games during the Flash era. Rebuild games is another game worth looking into, it has 3 games, the last one on Steam. Where Last Stand is a shoot em up, Rebuild is strategy.

Nice video dude Also There is a theory that can explain why the boat ends up failing, this would be because the boat was sabotaged by Jack, not only because he arrived long before us but also because he did not escape with us, Jack from the beginning never had the idea of fleeing but to destroy the last escape route from the city, all this to possibly prevent the virus from spreading further (especially considering that possibly he realized that our wife/husband was infected).

When I was about 10-13/14 me and my best friend didn't have a proper PC, besides we didn't have any older friends, cousins or siblings to buy games for us and there was no way our parents would buy games for us that included guns and violence. So we played flash and other free games for hours and hours and boy there were amazing gems to find out there. We would both sit in front of the screen and played boxhead co-op for hours until someone fucked it up by shooting a rocket at a wall, perfected our trade routes in Caravaneer (still 1 & 2 are the deepest and best flashgames I know, like a mix of Fallout and Patrician/Port Royale), played The Last Stand 2 and invented a Pen&Paper/Boardgame adaptation of it, hours of Teeworlds, Castle Crashers, The McDonalds Game, Age of War, Stickwars and so much more. Although I often wished we could get our hands on "proper" games, it is a wonderful memory

I just finished this game on survival mode few minutes ago and God so memories were unlocked! Truly a masterpiece!

The skill curve in this game is insane. First playthrough: barely survive the beginning Fifth: Get all the quick achievements ASAP to power level and spring everywhere like a manman cutting zeds down with a nailed board.

To add on what you said about the skill point distribution at the start: you should split your points between Searching and Security, with an emphasis on security, right at the start. Sure it takes twice as long to fully level both, but by around level 10 you're gonna have decent Security which will unlock most good locks, and Searching will give you even better loot. .

This game, especially for a Flash title, was phenomenal back in the day. Definitely worth playing.

Man this is such nostalgia trip, I remember playing the heck out of Con Artist games back when I was a wee lad in high school. Also, after a bit of digging out of curiosity I found out there is apparently one more Last stand game "Last Stand:Aftermath" from them, which is apparently a pretty decent rogue-lite, might give that one a looksie after.

this game was so huge back when it came out, the complexity was wild for a flash game. I miss playing TLS: Deadzone a lot more than I'm happy to admit

I absolutely loved this game I remember going to the local library and playing it on those slow computers just to play it because I had no internet and no computer at the time.

Try the TLS:Aftermath. It's gonna take a small grind to push thru the end of it but it's fun. The last installment of the game is a blend of all previous installments. Tip for TLS:Aftermath, Gas and Knowledge is what fuels progress.

The Last Stand Deadzone was also an underappreciated mix of RTS and Survival

Surprised no one really talks about this game, really wanted more games like this one. It was a FLASH games yet nothing after years come close to The Last Stand and The Last Stance: UC. The online one was.... good too actually, sucks how long it takes to level up but the weapons and missions are pretty fun.

I love it. Growing up, even if i was born in 2003, our pc was super old and i could not play much newer games. I get to experience playing these type of games and i actually prefer it because people used to spend some time on stories than eyecandy effects lol i especially enjoyed the wall writing and notes. Ive always taken the girl companion. I forgot her name and have not experienced the Hank bug. I have been wanting to play it agaon for nostalgia only to find out its no longer available online. Glad to know it's on steam. The last stand union city will forever be special to my ❤️! Did you ever do the forest side quest? When i was young, it's on premium content so i never got to play it but was always curious.

I've beaten UC at least 50 times, and loved playing TLS: Dead Zone, which is by far the best zombie game I've played.

There's also a fourth game that's rogue like called The last stand after math, I apparently couldn't wait to the very end😂

Never played this, but the first two in the series along with the warfare flash games were my go to while at school. Then I manged to get access to the school server and found that someone had put The Binding of Issac on it. From then on I just played that when able.

I loved Union city when i was younger but always played a hacked version to be basically invincible, only recently did i properly play through it and i just love it A thing you didn't mention is that, there is another companions in the game, not just Hank! Kelly is found in a grocery store in the backroom where you have to search for her glasses What i dislike is that if you get a companion but then also accept the mission of the other, you lose your old companion forever, no going back to recruit him, which is a bummer

i really hope you cover the last stand aftermath next, that game is a shitload of fun and their first proper non-flash game

The TLS game I've played and enjoyed the most is Dead Zone but nobody seems to talk about it. Unfortunately though, it can never be played ever again.

If you love the last stand series I recommend trying out the last stand: Aftermath. It’s not a perfect game but it definitely kept me entertained.

my intresting take on this is atmosphere its kinda uncanny realistic looking while some maps really show horrors of the outbreak and sad moments in the game

The last stand series will always have a special place in my heart. Along with adventure/dragon quest, raze, sift heads, rebuild, swat, endless war and so much more.

It was the peak of browser games. These devs were geniuses.
