That's exactly how I do it. I love cast iron for cooking salmon skin, always comes out so crispy.

Cast iron skillets hold in heat incredibly well. He heats the skillet on whatever stove top/burner he has, then brings it over to the table for the camera shot. That wooden plate is essentially a coaster to prevent damage to the table. That "bluetooth heating" is just a joke on this channel. Edit: I guess making jokes instead of actually answering questions gets you noticed these days. I use a similar method Cold pan, cold oil, salmon skin side down. Season salt pepper Medium heat 2 - 5 mins Place in top of oven 180, 7 - 10 mins based on how rare you want it salmon cooks from top and bottom from heat of pan. Remember to flip the salmon in the hot pan for last minute off the heat, when removed from oven.

Salmon also raises it's temp by 10-20degrees AFTER it's taken off the heat, so experiment with taking it off the heat at different intervals to see what works best for you. Digital thermometer is king

I use TheGoldenBalance’s recipe for salmon in the air fryer all the time, just some mayo, sriracha, and hot honey and cook at 400 for like 10 minutes. Absolutely incredible every time.

As a Norwegian we eat a lot of salmon. What people tend to forget is to make sure the fish is sterile. The best way to do this is to place it in the dishwasher on the kettle program. Use a little less dish soap then normal since you don't want the taste of the soap to be to pungent. season with some lime and himalayan sea salt to taste Bon Appétit

He heats the pan on the stove and brings it to the table. There’s no secret especially when he’s mainly using cast irons that are renowned for their heat keeping abilities.

I cook mine on medium heat with a little bit of sea salt 5 minutes skin side down 4 minutes on the other side I like to cook each side

So I tried to cook salmon today but the skin stuck to the pan and messed the whole dish up :( I used stainless Stella as that’s all I have and heated it up then put oil in.

Also be sure to pat-dry the salmon. It sticks like tape to a cast iron pan of it's damp.

Stephen King's nuked salmon is the laziest method of cooking salmon. Wrap salmon in a paper towel and microwave it for 3 minutes. No babysitting and no cleanup

Every time I make salmon, I can get crispy skin, but it loses its crisp, and goes soggy in a few minutes. What am I doing wrong?

Looks good, but the laziest way to cook salmon is, hands down, brush with melted butter + lemon juice and set under the broiler of a toaster oven for 10 minutes. Comes out with a nice baked texture to it. Skin doesn't crisp up, but I don't really like the skin away. I've probably quintupled the amount of salmon I make since I learned I could do it that way.

Does the skin have scales? I know that’s a dumb question but when I’ve gotten it from the grocer it’s had scales on it, and if so, I assume those are safe to eat once cooked?

The "white stuff" leeching out is the proteins from the fish, it only leeches put when the fish is overcooked

thats the mistery of this channel :)) but the truth is that it's only good editing.. he preheats the pan and puts it on the coaster and films for 5 seconds the meat frying and then he continues on an actual stove
