I take a look at the UK's most infamous train, the class 230...are they really that bad and what solutions are in place to solve the poor reliability of these ex-underground stock?

Great Western Railway are inheriting the Class 230s from London Northwestern Railway to operate on the West Ealing-Greenford branch line in West London. As they were used on the Marston Vale line before Vivarail sadly went into administration.

That looks like a very nice and well equipped train for such a shirt local route. In the Netherlands where we normally have most of our stuff state of the art our local trains sometimes don't even have a toilet. And I live in Norway half the time and the local trains here also don't have toilets, comfort or usb connections.

They are pretty solid trains but sadly are unreliable! Having been to the Netherlands (and having made a few videos on it - check them out!) the trains are very nice but I found most of them didn't have plugs or usb! Those Norwegian trains don't sound amazing!

Hey, these reminds me of refurbished Polish EN57. Its production has started in the 60s and ended in the 90s, yet these are still in use as regional trains, yet after deep modernisations. You would not say its as old as it is.

Probably similar! One quirk about the class 230's is they used to operate on the London Underground as D-Stock district line trains, making the transformation from electric tube trains to diesel regional trains remarkable!

I was waiting to catch a Class 230 train at Bidston last week but instead a 150 came so I refused 😢

Yes usually there's a mix of 150s and 230s, always double check on realtimetrains.co.uk! If you did enjoy the review though a sub would be great!

Hey Chris, it's quite difficult to film on the go, I didn't have very long on the service so had to try and get every detail in as possible, It doesn't help that I only visit Liverpool about twice a year so this was basically my one and only attempt at a 230 video - thank you for your advice though.
