In this video Gary takes a look at the Robus Triumph slim LED downlights and explains how they saved his blushes with his next door neighbours. These fitting have an impressive recessed depth of only 41mm are colour selectable between 3000 and 4000 Kelvin as well as interchange the bezels.

Scary to think back to the days of the old halogen spotlights that were pretty much open at the back with the ceramic base and the bezel clipped around the lamp. The heat they used to generate 🔥 😮 Glad we have moved on so much now.

Good fittings but the plug and socket do take up a lot of room if ceiling is packed with kingspan or has been lowered slightly

Why are these still being made? I have not seen any yet that last more than 3 years, manufacturers warranty replacements don’t match,connections are different. Luxna changed their connectors 3 times in 3 years AND the hole size!! Bin the lot after 3 years and start again OR fit replaceable lamp,version. I must have changed over 100 different ones of varying makes over 3 years

It's called modern day consumerism. Things like these are made cheaply on purpose, the driver is the most common thing to fail and the LEDs remain OK.

Yet another downlight that's ruined by the meagre 60-degree beam angle. A shame because it looks like a nicely designed unit. The efficacy in the specifications doesn't look especially spectacular either.

I’m sure the JCC V50 is only 38mm deep… I do like the 2 part connector though.

Anyone got a good tip for installing into pvc cladding, holesaw bit always slips and scratches but manage to get away with it so far as the fitting covers it

Mark the centre with an awl first, then hole saw. Also swap out the pilot bit that came with the hole saw for something decent.

Sorry to hijack this video.....I'm either going mad...or just mad. I'm sure it was you guys but about 3 months ago the was a video about a plastic brace that was designed to hold the downright feed fixed to a joist above a plasterboard ceiling allowing the ceiling to be fitted BUT stopping the guess work of finding your cables after as they would be held in place. I haven't been able to find this beauty ever since....help

Working for this guy an unhealthy manner. Called me in on my day off which is Monday because we had to have a light put on the ceiling well the light he got was "the same as the other ones however no it wasn't. Barely awake hardly stable to be on a ladder it went in the ceiling. Am I in the electrician in the scenario no I was hired to do computer work and somehow well competent at Electrical was working on an electrical engineer and they know everything including structural engineering and flooring and etc... During the two-story addition he told me to look up a video on how to lay block walls, then as we're doing it complains that we're not doing it right but that's OK he knows how to do it he's gonna show us.....
