No doubt a great product but of course they are going to be on point in your test as they are brand new. The problem with most of these types of lights is after a few seasons of hot/cold dry/wet when the sealing materials start to degrade due to UV or heat cycling.

Well, this sucks. Just swapped out a Luceco PIR floodlight yesterday that was just under two years old that not only had a failed PIR unit but also suffered with extensive surface corrosion! Given it was mounted directly under a wide overhang soffit with little direct rain water drenching and many miles from any coastline (so little chance of salt corrosion!) I'm personally disappointed with the Luceco brand. Swapped it out with a cheaper LAP version as both the homeowner and I just want to see how it compares to one twice the price? So whilst I applaud your paid Info'mercial for Luceco I'd advise others (as you say in your opening gambit).... how many of us go back to check on a fitting five years on. Well in my case I'd have welcomed the chance for this Duff Luceco light to have lasted that long.🙄 Just.... saying 🤔

LED bulbs claimed life expectancy is a joke. I mark with a marker pen their installation dates in my home. I installed 3 LAP bulbs in the bedroom with 1 failing after 12 months and with the second one lasting less than 2 years. These were only on for about an hour a day.

Its about blooming time manufacturers have started to use their noggin. I have been replacing loads of Led floodlights that have only lasted 18 months and the new mounting bracket design is simple and in some cases, a life saver when you are up a ladder trying to hold on to three things at the same time

Its usually the PIR that fail so its better to go for a stand alone unit and install a good quality PIR.

In my experience nothing ever fails when tested like this. Give it 6 months in the sun and rain with temperature cycling and that’s a more realistic test. That said it does look promising from a design perspective and it makes me want to try one. Similar products are very hot and miss !

Can we go back in 18 months to see how much UV damage there is on that PIR diffuser please…. Bet it’s more yellow than the bottom of my toilet after a night down the boozer.

I have given up using combined light and PIR fittings. You can never angle the pir and light to to correct angle. And they never seem to last as long as separates

I fitted one earlier today. The bracket is good. Also the three dials for time, day/ night are better than the older luceco ones too.👌😊

Another option to consider is the "Steinel Xled Home 2 LED Flood Lights", they are expensive, but high quality and you don't have a cable fly lead on show. Everything is also fully adjustable.

Many other older lights are only IP44 and no problems. How about having a front that opens with a replaceable standardised module. A bit like a lamp!

Still a fail on the captive cable - facing down is a must for sure but it still does not need to exit at the very bottom. If the exit was closer to the top of the unit you would have less loop of cable visible.

Had several premature failures of Ledvance (formerly Osram) floodlights, not the PIR but the LED itself. I’d expect much better from what is a premium brand. I really don’t trust any claims from any lighting brand now whether it’s a downlight, a GLS lamp or a floodlight, I treat them all as disposable tat and the only thing that really matters is the ease of change. If only manufacturers would stop relentlessly pushing the lumens per watt metric and adopt the ‘Dubai lamp’ approach.

I remember when floodlights used to come with a junction box on the back and none of that fly lead rubbish that requires more clutter on walls! Very difficult to find an LED floodlight with a jucnction box now... And we're told the wire coming out is a feature!!!

The minimum IP rating of 44 for outdoor lights is not good enough.

With the way the PIR is interfaced with the flood head, it would be impossible to point the flood to achieve zero or low upward light and still have the PIR aimed so that it was usefull. Too many products in this part of the market are not used with any respect to low light intrusion or Darksky criteria.

Most of the ones I have had to change , and they are many, are due to failed LED panels. Tried many different manufacturers, all unreliable and cost me in time replacing under warranty.

The ip rating is not the problem. Its the cheap led modules the lights use. That light will not last 2 years. No chance.

If your going to carry out a test to IP 65 conditions do it with the right equipment and at all directions - your "test" proved nothing

Plastic brackets. No thanks. In theory the ball is a nice idea, but made from plastic pretty much guarantees with 12 months with kids around the light will be hanging from its cable.

Sorry Joe but the test procedure is not very convincing. As others have pointed out most if not all light fittings of this type fail after a short number of years due to either water ingress and/or LED failure. Unfortunately in a desire to sell them at the lowest possible price they are generally constructed from cheap inferior material. The unit under test may be an exception but as I've already said your test procedure is lacking any real credibility and not up to your usual high standard of investigative reporting.

Given that you have a 'hard' business I don't appreciate the ads in your video. KZfaq is simply trying to force viewers into a subscription service by disabling adblockers but I am not paying nearly £14 a month for that - if you go down this road that will be one less subscriber. For the first time since subscribing to your channel I have 'disliked' this video as a sign of protest. Sorry guys but you are better than this.

I’m with you on this. The Ads are a turn off. And this channel is getting worse for Ad time. Sometimes a minimum of 30 seconds on clicking the video then intermittent ads throughout.
