I think I posted that message, possibly verbatim, on a previous Evil Wurst video. I've now had Rust for a few weeks, I die constantly, but somehow have the weirdest most unconditional love for this impossibly frustrating game.

@@EvilWurst it worked for me only with a level 2. I haven't been able to replicate my success after doing it once in my 2x1 on an official server. My second and third attempt to replicate have resulted in blocking the doorway completely. You inspired me to create the final version of this series of bases with only a single square foundation as the core. It feels very nice as a solo base. Now you can choose between 3 square core "Phoenix V2", 2 square core "Lazy Farmer" or 1 square (To be named by you).

Isn't that an issue with virtually all smaller bases? In addition, you'd have to piss off someone enormously so that they sacrifice a minicopter to drain a bit of HP from your lockers

@@EvilWurst I'm not sure if it's the explosion or the fire from the explosion somehow bugs into the walls if the minicopter is too close to the wall. Plus, minicopter are much more common after they shortened it's lifetime.

1) the last time I used it, the shooting floor contained the research table, the repair bench, and half a dozen sleeping bags of my friends and allies 2) & 3) build these as external bases. You keep the upkeep down, you cover a larger area, and it usually costs more to raid several small bases than one larger base 4) great idea -- I don't see myself having the time though :(

It's not meant for a wipe during which you want to assess tons of loot. If that's the plan, the Mini Frustrator might work better

If that works reliably than lots of bases are vulnerable

@@EvilWurst I don't know if it works reliably but i happened to me. Logged in just to find my tc destroyed (tc lootbox in the ground and not despawned yet luckily) the furnace and the boxes closest to tc heavily damaged but the rest of my base didn't have a single scratch.

@@EvilWurst I have 4k+ hours as a builder/defender primarily(not a huge pvp guy but I hold my own). My trio and I were admins of a very popular 100+ person community server for a few years. We have built and developed hundreds of different bases in bob the builder and then used them week after week in our server being tested by hoards of salty kids. Not flexing or anything I just say that so you know where I come from when I tell you that I really appreciate your style. Wurst, you are my kind of Rust player. Good sht bro... your bases speak to me and I find myself using them all the time now I don't care if people know where the TC is just looking at it from the outside("oh thats a mini frustrator") it's too hard and there are lower hanging fruit all over the place. Keep up the good work, I will most definately be watching.

Keywords are just the icing on the cake. Focus on quality content, quality presentation, and quality thumbnails first. First, I would not have clicked your base video, because it does not show a base. Thus, a viewer does not know what to expect and may skip this video in favour of one with a thumbnail that communicates the content of the video more clearly. This is a bad signal for the YT algorithm, and your video will be recommended less often. Second, in case I had started watching that video for some reason, I would have closed the video about 10 seconds in. I was greeted by a distracting overlay, jumpy movements of the avatar / mouse, and a dark inside of a base so that I can almost not see anything. Usually, low quality production indicates low quality designs. That’s not always true, of course, but many viewers might move on at this point. This is another bad signal for the YT recommendation algorithm. Best of luck! Hope this helps! Evil

The problem with designing for modded servers is: there are so many different configurations, and they all require different designs: 2x or 10x? /home or no teleportation? ladder raiding enabled or not? low-pop or high-pop? (=how much can people farm unmolested) 3-day wipes or 2-week wipes? ...

I have found that all these highly effecient builds don't do well on modded servers as sulfur is just so abundant that nothing will keep them out. You need to change your designs to be sneaky. Plus with very high stack quantities you bearly need any storage. The only way vanilla designs will work in modded servers if there is no /remove as I found that the most op feature when designing bases. The next is teleport as it removes the need to be in prime locations but also allows raiders to attack much further away from their main base. Say you are on a modded server with any multiple of gather, /home and /remove. There is zero point to use doors at all. You should have your loot base and your small farming/monument base you TP between. For the loot base I would recommend two options. Build a symetrical base and put fake loot in the center while having your TC and good loot off center and behind a wall. Only getting lucky or expending a massive amount of explosives will reveal the real loot and cause you to loose the base. The TC on a teleport server is even more critical as it allows the raiders to take your base and just tp and trade all the loot out quick. The other option is to build into the side of rock formations and hide the TC and best loot in the crevices and wall it up. Either way always keep your TC and best loot behind a wall and obfuscate where it could be hidden. With so much materials make 3 to 6 tc bunkers around your base to reduce greifing.

Yeah, that's the one downside of building bases from KZfaq that are well known. Good thing is, the TC is the best-protected spot ... so even going directly for it might not be worth it
