The Legacy TJ : 2005 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Build on 37's | Inside Line

In many families across America, a Jeep Wrangler sitting in the driveway represents more than just a means of transportation. It’s a mobile time capsule. Each imperfection and upgrade representing a special moment in time. When Ken Carter purchased his 2005 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon in March of that year, it was partly with the hope that one day it would be passed on to a grandchild.
Luckily for him, this is exactly what ended up happing. On this Inside Line, we will talk with that grandson (Jackson Carter) and his father Kelly about the history of this Jeep and how it got to where it is today.

That's a beautiful TJ Rubicon. My Rubi just got a lift, so I'm just starting and learning. They're such cool buggies! They'll get you anywhere.

The shots @4:18 & @5:45 beach wheelin in the Outer Banks is by far my favorite off roading. Surf fishing and beach camping are about as cool as it gets. Unlike @7:17, my '05 TJ Rocky Mtn 4.0 has a soft top, and the doors and top in the garage from April - Oct. The Jeep is meant to have that open air experience within a few minutes, especially at the beach!! Never been a fan of hardtops cocooning its passengers. That's what the 4 dr limos do, certainly not in a True Jeep. Excellent video of father and son wheelin in a TJ, the greatest generation of Jeep. 😎🏖

Hi, that's a great looking Rubicon...! I have a 2005 Jeep Rubicon as well and I'm planning to swap the Front DANA 44 to a DANA 60 from Fusion 4x4 but I haven't deiced how wide I'm going to go, so I just want to know what WMS of your Son's Jeep, and also what is the rear axle as well, type of wheels (Size,bolt pattern,Offset, backspace...etc.) I'm not sure if 65.5" (JK's WMS) or the bare Ford F350 Super Duty WMS but I'm little bit concern of how it's going to look with the wider stock Super duty axle; I think axle with (WMS) of your Son's Jeeps is perfect in my opinion but just wanted know your thoughts.

Nice build! Does it have a 4” or 5” lift? Did you have to adjust the front or rear fenders at all to clear 37’s?

If I remember correctly, I believe he said, those are Rubicon Express 4.5 Springs. I think he may be running a coil spacer as well. That should put it around 5.5 inches of lift. He hasn’t modified the fenders.

You mentioned gearing a couple times in the video but didn’t mention ratio (unless of course I missed it) would you mind sharing the ratio? I too have the 42rle and would like to go to 37’s

Bad ass jeep tj,s are the last real jeeps are those axle,s stock width if so what backspacing are your rims i have an 04 and a 79 hi pinion 60 what year is the 60 on the rubi thanx bro.

The backspacing is 3.5 inches. The axles are not stock width, but I don't remember the exact specs. I'm pretty sure they had the front one built to 68.5 WMS.
