I have beaten the final boss many times. Melbu Frahma is not that hard to beat if you are ready for him. He can still be a pain in the ass during the battles though.

I remember the first time I had a go at the end boss I was so miserable, but I guess considering my age at the time it was ok. Similar feelings for a lot of the Squaresoft games of the time.

This game was so under-rated and under-appreciated. It was exquisite. The battle system, the storytelling, the characters, the cutscenes, the music.....I would love a remake of this. I wish people knew more about this game. It's such a loss to seasoned gamers that have never seen or heard of Dragoon.

you know what part of this game I love the most? It was the level/dungeon design. It's still the best out of all RPG I've played Each dungeon or hostile area is unique, and memorable. I love the scenery and I'm still remember each area when I watching streamer play it. The dungeon never get tedious, some of it has unique puzzle and I never got bored or feel pressured when it's time to go there. Also enemy city can act as hostile area and as a town (go shopping) at the same time. Most of the RPG got same dungeon design, repetitive, try to make you lost with maze like design, and some copy paste each frame. For example, Persona series (even though I love this series)

I beat Legend of Dragoon sooo many times, and never will I ever get sick of it. Despite it being cliché, it was a game that would get you glued on to it. And even more with a song like that.

Sakki99 Not sure how it was a cliche. Considering how early the game was made. Seems like a lot of games these days tend to be a cliche of this game in some elements. This game was perfect amazing story great characters. This song was just icing on the cake.

+Regal Panda LOD is widely considered cliche'd both in the RPG sense and the fantasy adventure sense. That's part of the reason it wasn't a commercial success when it first came out. Read any of the old magazine reviews (if you can find them) and they'll all likely call it cliched and/or a direct knockoff final fantasy. Thing is... it hits SO MANY of the usual tropes that I would call it more of a love-letter to the genre than just cliched. The fact that its one of the rare few games that got MORE popular the older it got proves my point, imo.

I was still in elementary school when I just happened to stumble upon this game in a pawn shop, I knew absolutely nothing about it, but something told me to get it, so I take it home and put in my PS1, then a little snippet of this song plays, and I was absolutely mesmerized by it, of course I didn't know that wasn't the whole song, but everything about this game is so wonderful,the story, the music, even the graphics, needless to say this game was pretty much a huge part of my childhood and I always fanboy a little when I meet other people who are fans of this game, I'm glad I discovered this game.

I remember when I got this game as a kid when I heard this in the opening. Years later when I first beat it, hearing the full song as the credits felt almost overwhelmingly mystical. The nostalgia made it feel like the whole thing came full cyclical, like I was reliving the moment when I got it....

+TyranitarTube there was actually a sequel planned but was cancelled. there used to be an official website up for it a long time ago, but not much ever happened with it. from rumors i've heard, it was actually a prequel and was gonna go into the dragon campaign. but i don't know how true the plot rumors were back then. just google "legend of dragoon sequel cancelled" to get an acknowledgement about the sequel, at least.

+godlessandlovingit I actually would rather have it stay what it is and play it on PSX... If they try to remake it, it will probably just end up like what theyre doing with FF7... Square is making it into episodes so its cheaper on their budget and costs fanboys more money. The modern AAA games industry is more obsessed with making beauty portraits instead of making creative innovative masterpieces. Thats why all of the games that will never fade are from N64, PSX, PS2 and Gamecube. Now, thats not saying that there arent good games now-a-days. In fact there are great games. But when a company knows that game formula sells... They rehash the same game almost endlessly, and a lot of gamers love these companies and titles so much that theyre willing to turn a blind eye to it.

I played this in 2000, I was 19 year old. lol I'm 42 now, I still have the hardcopy and play it more or less every 2 years or so. If they ever remastered this game, or made a prequel to the story with Melbu Frahma, or made even a follow up of Dart and company's story I would buy the game and the associated console required to play it (I'm pretty much exclusively a PC gamer now). PLEASE remake this masterpiece or build on it further. It was such a great game.

When I was 11 years old, my mom allowed my brother and I to buy any game we wanted. He picked Resident Evil Survivor, and I picked The Legend of Dragoon. I knew nothing about it, all I knew was that the cover looked badass. 20 years later, we still talk about how great this game was. This song will forever remind me of my brother - I get emotional every time I listen to this as I think about how we'll reminisce about our childhood when we grow old and grey.

This was one of the first games I had for the PS1, me and my brother both loved the game and some of my fondest memories of hanging out with him is simply playing this game together, exploring the world and trying to find all the stardust to see what we would get from it. altho im a hueg FF fan, this game is indeed a gem....and yet ppl still bash it as an FFVII clone, but think, it had this epic song, epic themes throughout, spoken dialogue (FMVs and battle), and an epic storyline that spanned over 10,000 years....the only other game i can think of with a fleshed out history that big is Xenogears.

I used to watch my brothers play this game when I was too little to comprehend the story let alone get into it as I wasn't a fan of RPG's then. I remember being bad at the combat so that's probably why I didnt like it lol but growing up I wanted to play it again and never got the chance until now. Sony has recently re-released The Legend of Dragoon on the PS4 and PS5 and I couldn't be happier to finally have the chance to not only play again but beat this game! So if you're a newcomer I highly recommend getting this classic, and if you're a returning player like me then show your support and let Sony know that WE STILL BELIEVE that this is one of the greatest games of all time 🙂

Most beautiful game I ever played People who ask for a remaster are just not satisfied with the masterpiece that it was. It doesn't need a remaster. Leave it as it is.

Been years since I played this game....great graphics for the day, a neat combat system ( though I suck at timing so I swore a lot at every miss ), I enjoyed the story and characters, and the music was fantastic. If they ever pull their thumb out I hope it's a remaster and not a remake because it's only the graphics that need a touch up, everything else is great the way it is. Not sure how they'd do a sequel since the story wrapped things up pretty neatly. Unless they went the way the Lufia games did and have the sequel technically be a prequel

Man, game music during PSOne era was EPIC. Legend of Dragoon, Xenogears, Chrono Cross, Vagrant Story; all had amazing soundtracks. Xenogears and Chrono Cross were especially masterpieces. None of the modern JRPGs have the same level of quality.

The only modern JRPGs I honestly believe have great music, is Persona. I can't speak of the 2nd installment, but I know Revelations Persona(ps1), Shin Megami Tensei Persona 3 (ps2), Shin Megami Tensei Persona 4 (ps2), and Persona 5 (ps4) all had amazing soundtracks. The Legend of Dragoon, FF7, Legacy of Pain Soul Reaver, Suikoden 2, Secret of Mana, and Secret of Evermore had some of the best soundtracks in gaming history. But thats just imo.

Playing this game for the first time. A friend of mine bugged me to play it and I finally caved. I'm glad I gave into peer pressure. This game is so good.
