Breath of the Wild definitely is some next level shit. I played it for weeks and only stopped playing recently so I can play other games. Now I'm playing it again so I can capture footage for my own review and it's still amazing.

I actually love Spirit Tracks' story. Ghost Zelda is the best companion ever and the character interactions between Link and Zelda are great. She literally gets killed by a new villain named Chanceller Cole who is a demon disguised as a human within Hyrule's government. He wants to revive the Demon King by getting rid of the Spirit Tracks alongside Bryne who is also a well-developed character. It's the most unique plot out of every Zelda game; you should give it a chance. Ganon is nowhere to be seen or mentioned.

I was always torn by those two titles as to which one I considered my favorite, but now I have this internal conflict compromised by recognizing they are both equally my favorite. Also Skyward Sword is a good game. It has flaws that the series shouldn't have, but it has amazing dungeons, some fantastic locations (The Desert, Sand Sea, Eldin Volcano (on its first visit), great item upgrade system as well as supplementary system, and a great story with a cast of lovable characters. The fact it didn't appeal to what you prioritize in a Zelda game (Free form exploration) does not mean it's a bad Zelda game. It definitely would have benefited from free form exploration, but the real problems with the game lie in the hand holding, reused locations for boring parts, and over emphasis on the Wii remote in some mechanics. That said that isn't enough to consider it a garbage game because it clearly isn't, it still has more than enough good things in it to be considered a good Zelda game even if it is still the one with the most objective problems.

Spirit Track, fun to play and it's better than hourglass, goal is to get Zelda body back before Ganon revive inside her body. your companion is Zelda but in Ghost form and must go through 1 dungeon per section (4 total) and 4 mini dungeon inside tower before reach to final boss.

I think the botw2 may have a darker theme as you suggest with Majora's mask.

Spirit Tracks is highly underrated man. It fixes most of the issues of Phantom Hourglass. It may seem restricted with a train for traveling the overworld, but unlike the boat you have full control of direction in real time, and through side quests more and more tracks open up, it actually ends up feeling more expansive than you would initially think. Also the dungeon you return to has sections rather than one long path, so unlike PH you can just skip previous sections. Also the buddy system in that dungeon where you control both Link and Zelda at the same time is also very fun.

I think Breath of the Wild suffers from the lack of importance with the things you find. It is a horrible game to 100% and way too easy to break by upgrading the armors, as the armor directly subtracts the damage. Well, Joseph Anderson made a good video about the game, so whatever. I hope you do an "Uncivil Synopsis" on Banjo-Kazooie eventually, for though it could be summed as "Super Mario 64" on steroids (or collect the things the game but as you have said, better implemented than Donkey Kong 64) it is vastly different by being developed by the British subsidiary of Nintendo: Rareware and for an E rated game it is quite lewd in its humor but because it was primarily British in style it so it managed to slip by on an international scale. As for the retrospective, I am unfortunately unfamiliar with the series save Link's Awakening for the Gameboy other than that this was quite enlightening and you were quite formal and it is pleasant to see someone call out Nintendo where they fell short especially for such an iconic series as Zelda.

Actually for ocarina of time, you dont have to complete the adult dungeons in order, you just need the right items. One good order is forest, water, spirit, fire, and shadow, as long as you go collect the lense of truth after the water or forest temple

I absolutely love Breath of the Wild (who doesn't) but after beating it and doing most of everything in the game (and I'm still working on completing it) - Majora's Mask is still my favorite Zelda. Majora's Mask was perfectly crafted.

ToTK might finally be the game to rival Zelda 2's (especially if it has a master mode later, since BoTW's master mode came pretty close, too )

It seems like you are pointing out all the bad in Skyward Sword while ignoring all the good. Sure, I agree that the game is very linear, the sky is empty, etc. However, you're also overlooking the dungeons. The dungeons in this game are really great, like the time traveling Sandship and the layout shifting Sky Keep, and there are also great puzzles in the overworld. The whole concept of timeshift stones is really interesting. Also, even though you go back to the same areas, you never do the same thing aside from returning to Skyview Temple and the Imprisoned fights. You always go to a new area each visit, or the entire region changes like Faron Woods being flooded

Most of my favourite Zelda games take place outside of Hyrule, Link's Awakening (it has so much charm, was made the year I was born & was the first Zelda game I ever played- it was the one that hooked me for life), Majora's Mask (the story line is so engrossing & unlike all the pussys that hate the time travelling aspect- I thought it was revolutionary) & Twilight Princess (technically this does take place in Hyrule, but it's mostly in the twilight realm so it doesn't count in my mind- the imagery is unlike any other Zelda game). 32:47 Demise IS NOT Ganon! Demise is a demon it was him who started the Ganondorf meme ok?! I know my Zelda lore. Demise placed a curse on Link and Zelda saying that a reincarnation will forever haunt Link and Zelda's descendants. This reincarnation became Ganondorf and thus the cycle started. So in almost every Zelda game Ganon has to be killed and he'll be reborn to repeat the cycle

You missed out on spirit tracks. It is actually underrated. It has one of the best implementations of zelda. The Story is really good as well. This was my first zelda game and is my favourite one till this day (have not played all of them yet though)

Breath of the wild is the best game I’ve ever played

+HyperCharge I love me some single player TriForceHeroes, but man are you right about SkywardSword! It just felt LAME from the very beginning, I didn’t even get halfway thru. I also didn’t finish PhantomHourglass, or even play SpiritTracks, but I’ve seen some reviewers that live for that game, & call it the most underrated Zelda game of all time. And yes BOTW was awesome, I probably put around 300 hours into that game, and I never play games for even more than 40 hours usually. The previous record holder was 88 hours in Darksiders2, a Zelda clone.

You can't begin BOTW without the glider, so at least in the beginning it's pretty much a linear game with little exploration.
