The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap was never on my radar, which is strange because I love the handheld Zelda games! Let's see how this GBA one holds up in my Minish Cap review.
Mr. Comple-a-claus is giving away his stuff! Enter for free here! gleam.io/VuWUF/mr-completeacl...
Subscribe: bit.ly/SubscribeThatOneVideoGamer
The Legend of Zelda series tends to be more adventurous with it's handheld titles. The Minish Cap focuses on the Picori, who are tiny creatures that can only be seen by children. After the evil sorcerer Vaati sets out attain the Light Force, shatters the Picori blade, and turns Princess Zelda into stone. Off to reforge the blade that was once broken, a talking bird...hat....thing named Ezlo accompanies Link on his quest to save Hyrule, acting as the Minish Cap which allows him to shrink and visit the Picori.

This was the first Zelda game I actually beat. I played the other ones a lot but for whatever reason I didn't beat them back then. But The Minish Cap is honestly my favorite Zelda game I absolutely adore it. The atmosphere is enchanting, the level design is genius, the visuals are vibrant and beautiful, and oh my god the soundtrack is so lovely! The Minish Village theme is my favorite I used to go to the village and just lay my gameboy next to me when I went to sleep because it was so pleasant to listen to. Not gonna lie I popped off so hard when I saw you upload this lol glad this game is getting more of the spotlight!

Carol May I’m the same, played it at a very young age and actually still have it as well as my game boy advance. A true masterpiece of a game. I don’t think any Zelda game can compare to it, though that’s just my biased opinion as it really set me on my huge Zelda fan craze. Wouldn’t it be amazing if they brought the Minish/Four sword back but in a 3D game... it would be a truly exciting experience, especially when you shrink in size. AAAAHHH I LOVE IT TOO MUCH!! XD

Fabulous Superstar You're half right. While it's true some Kinstone fusions happen with specific people at specific points in the plot (the fusions with King Daltus and Minister Potho being prime examples), missing those opportunities doesn't mean you can never get all the fusions. The missed ones just move to other characters.

All these years later, I am so glad that Minish Cap was one of those games that I knew about and managed to get and play through back when it was new! It's really memorable for me, I love the game, but any time I think about or remember it, it was a game surrounded by some of the best AND worst memories of my life. I was 15 when it came out, and, going along with a lot of my personal real life issues, it was during the time I was going to Opportunities For Learning, still struggling to keep up with school and learn. I remember, this was also around the time that Drawn Together, was STILL a show and aired on Comedy Central. So, I would sit alone in my bedroom, either at the computer desk that I used to have (and that I wish that I still had now - it was not mine originally, it was my brothers, and a few years after 2005, he came back and took it....), or on my bed, usually at nights when the show would be on. I was also really into listening to Ozzy's music, namely the albums "No Rest For The Wicked" and "No More Tears" (also the live album, "Live & Loud"). Trying my best not to go into too many more details, the school dropped me eventually because I couldn't keep up with doing the homework and turning it in each week (and algebra, can go fuck itself), and yeah, more or less just bad times involving my brother and the other side of, I guess my family or what ever. Still though, I finished this game once, and I've tried to re-play it and beat it again, but any time I've tried to get back into it, I just have a rough time staying interested. That is, until about a few days ago, now I've re-played up to beating the second dungeon!

And I ALSO still have the copy I've had since the game came out - the box, manual and other paper/pamphlet inserts in either mint or really good shape (box obviously more worn than anything else, BUT no dents or messed up wear like a lot of other casualties from my past). Sometimes I wish that Capcom would make more Zelda games for Nintendo, but I guess those days are now gone and in the past. I wouldn't mind seeing this pop up on the Switch eShop, mainly because THEN I could play it on a TV without video output struggles (I do still have a Gamecube, and a Gameboy Player with the disc, but yeah.... my Gamecube is a later model WITHOUT the component output; the component cables are "one arm, one leg and your first-born" insanely priced anymore; AND I can NOT play any GB, GBC or GBA games using a Gamecube controller to save my life - I do have a converter/adapter thingy that, I bought to use with the Wii, and allows NES, SNES, Genesis and N64 controllers to be plugged into the Wii OR the GC as well, but there is always some amount of lag when using those controllers with the GC or Wii, or just overall from the adapter).

"What's so special about The Minish Cap?" For me, the fact that I can't get it on my 3DS. I'm searching for a 3DS with an Ambassador Certificate with a transferable game. Yeah, I know ROMs are a thing, but the fact that I can't get a legitimate copy on the 3DS when I can get every other Zelda game kills me.

Either buy a DS and get the cartridge or buy a WiiU and purchase the game on virtual console. Problem solved.

@@tcrpgfan I know I could do that, but I want the game on the 3DS. Between the 3DS and the Switch, I can play most Legend of Zelda games. It really bugs me that Minish Cap is the only game I can't get on my 3DS.
@tcrpgfan
@tcrpgfan 3 жыл бұрын
@@Butterism Naw, you can play every zelda between the 3DS and the WiiU. The switch has no original zelda. While ALL of the 3d zeldas are available on the WiiU, and almost all of the 2d ones as well. the 3DS covers everything else. Remember BOTW isn't switch exclusive, it's on Wii U as well.
@Butterism

@@tcrpgfan Good news! I found an Ambassador 3DS with a transferable game. I am now a proud owner of The Minish Cap on the 3DS. Anywho, I know the Wii U is a Zelda machine, but I still can't justify the cost of one when I already have a Switch. There's on 4 Zelda games I'm missing at this point: Wind Waker, Skyward Sword, Twilight Princess, and Four Swords Adventures. I have high hopes that WW and TP will be ported over. I keep hearing promising rumors of a remake of SS. If that happens, that only leaves Four Swords Adventures which I believe isn't on the Wii U anyways. I know it's a long shot for FSA to be ported, but I'll wait to see what happens with Zelda's 35th Anniversary.
