Is this just a narrative device to help with the sheer number of zelda games or is there some significant reason ganon was able to win against the hero of time just this once? @@Soulvale88 when you think about it. only one time in OoT do you actually have travel back in time. when Ganondorf puts a big builder in front of where you have to go to get the gloves that give you ultimate strength. and since you don't have the gloves to move the builder you have to travel back in time to fix the problem. the timeline you leave behind Ganondorf has defeated you and that timeline. no other area in the game does it require you to travel back in time for something important. the other timelines come from when Zelda sends Link back in time to correct things and relive his lost childhood at the end of OoT. this is why in OoT can the hero be defeated and no other game creates a Link is defeated timeline.

Idk about now but I went to Japan 4 times with my high school in the early 2000's. And while some of the hard drugs are impossible to find. Scott Elias it isn't plausible, the only problem is the huge similarities btwn BotW's hyrule castle and TP is hyrule castle and this is a comparison many have made. Hell even i thought of the idea of this being an adult timeline story but in the old hyrule instead of the new just bc the "flood" allowed for the leviathans to exist but also bc Link's sister was there allowing the spirit of the hero to be reborn in the original hyrule. But that's where a few problems lay, would that mean the zelda blood line came back? How does it it explain the hyrule castle of TP? Are we all just wrong and that's not actually TP's castle? There is no denying a flood happened in this world, way before the 1st calamity, a flood that lasted a long enough time for salt rock to be found on almost every mountain and for leviathans to rule the seas but i personally think it wasn't bc of the goddesses and the wish in WW to flood the kingdom but just a natural phenomena of the world "Tsunamis" and with hyrule being so close to the ocean, it was meant to happen eventually

Steven Lopez I personally think that the only other real option wold be around the time of Skyward sword, the opening scene states ‘there are other legends, long hidden away from memory, that are intertwined with this tale’, this Is stated before the start of SS. Now I know this seems far fetched but I think if we consider a few things, there is possible room that point to a timeline convergence and crash, not at the end of the time line but at the start of the timeline. Let’s remember Demises curse; ‘My hate never perishes. It is born anew in a cycle with no end’ - this clearly states that the curse cannot be broken, it’s possible that at the end of every timeline Ganon(dorf) is defeated and either through multiple attempts of altering the time line, Demise/Ganons curse being unbreakable or some other unknown reason this causes the timelines to combine crash and reset at the time of skyward sword. Possibly being the catalyst for the series. A few facts that would support this are: 1) It tells of a war of unmatched scale and ferocity the likes of which would never be seen again - Skyward sword. A big theme in BotW is a massive war that has never been seen or matched. 2) the earth cracked wide and malevolent forces rushed forth from the fissure - SS (something similar is also referred to in BotW) 3)Burnt the forests to ash, choked the land’s sweet springs, and murdered without hesitation -SS. The landscape and general vibe of the population in BOTW reflects this. 4)we know the goddess gathered humans on an out cropping of earth, is this why the great Plateau is elevated and referred to as the birth place of Hyrule? 5)We know the technology was available to elevate large objects, just look at Medoh. 6)The only mention of the Triforce is through Zelda when she unlocks her sealing power. A big theme in LOZ is the loss of detail through the ages, could that be the case now as Zelda seems to be guarding the entire triforce, something that has only happened in SS. While it’s not clear is her sealing power is part of the triforce or her goddess powers, I’d be inclined to go with her goddess power based on the fact, she didn’t age in 100 years and if was human could have wished for the end of calamity Ganon. 7)The convergence of the timeline was enough to wake Fi and talk to Zelda/Hylia in her moment of need. The crash and convergence is also supported by the fact that there are contradictory items, stories and races in BOTW with the Rito and Zora existing at the same time, or the map seemingly matching all and none of the previous maps at the same time, leviathans being long dead while there being parts of the map clearly scorched, was the world set on fire or was it flooded? I know this seems far fetched, but looking at Nintendo’s history, I really wouldn’t put it past them. It also fits nicely with their series reboot mentioned at the end of the video. I’d love to hear if you think this has potential? But hey that’s just a theory a Commonwealth realm comment section theory. Thanks for reading!

The problem lies in the fact that the deniers or doubters of the timeline convergence theory is that they view time as linear and static. The theory of convergence works if you accept that time is anything but linear (lest we forget we are dealing with fictional elements as well). Too many elements from all three timelines exist for it not to be a sort of unification/convergence. Zelda’s speech during the ceremony was a bombshell in that regard, and I refer to the speech given in other languages/in the background where the Champions are talking. Zelda mentions heroes from every timeline.

The idea of marriage -- or getting married -- was a concept that he probably couldn't comprehend at the time. Kind of like how in Dragon Ball, Goku didn't fully understand what Chichi meant by "promise to get married." Both Link and Goku were not like other children and did not grow up in an environment where these things could be processed. But if OoT Link and Ruto were to get married, there would be the complicated process of bearing children. The two are different species. Interspecies breeding is very difficult at best, and the Hylians and Zora are vastly different species.

There wouldn't need to be 3 Links. A convergence would work starting in the Child Timeline, where Ganon is still alive (He's dead in the other two). Ganon's rise would cause only one Link and Zelda to reincarnate in the CT. When the convergence happens, it would happen immediately so that no Links or Zeldas from the other two timelines would be able to reincarnate fast enough to react to it. Now, there are three Hyrules to deal with, but we could assume the convergence would inadvertently destroy all three and force the kingdom to be rebuilt from the ground up.
