As much time spend watching Greb play handball as sparring with the great lightheavy Phila. Jack O'Brien, but every second is valuable, even the stretching and calisthenics. Jimmy Jacobs, a great handball player and fight film collector, must have laughed ruefully at these tantalizing moments.

And something many younger boxing fans don’t know. These guys had day of the fight weigh in and they used 6oz gloves!!! No comparison to todays fighters who because of day before weigh ins come In above the maximum weight. Roy Jones at MW never came into the ring at less than 175!!
@jonbathurst953

They also would fight eachother regardless of weight classes as well though. They didn’t think as much of weight as they do now. Greb was 168-170 most of his career but could make 160 if he had to.

I forgot all about this footage, I own a copy of Boxing from when Greb fought Tunney and it says that the judges must have taken points off Greb for his “rough house tactics” for him to have lost the decision in one of their early fights, Micky Walker’s on the cover as welterweight champion it’s falling apart so I had to frame it, So strange not to have any footage of him. I remember the excitement when this was made public first. Great job again thanks.

@@GuyFromTheSouth I remember when the training footage first came out and you had to send for a copy on VHS I was massively excited. So strange there’s footage of his fight with Walker because it must have been filmed cos the contract signing was. It’s the same with Jimmy Wilde who I consider the best fighter pound for pound ever. They have all his losses on highlights but at least there’s one of him in his prime. Greb is unknown to the world because there’s no footage but I wonder if Jimmy Jacobs, Tyson’s old manager, has anything on him?
@GuyFromTheSouth
@GuyFromTheSouth 7 ай бұрын
@chriso1585 I actually contacted Steven Lott about it before he died. He was one of the guys who was with Tyson early on, and he had the entire Jim Jacobs library. He told me that there is sadly no fight footage of him available that he knows of and asked me to let him know if I ever came across any. I don't think any will ever be recovered. Unless it's in someones attic somewhere, but it would probably have gone bad by now.

XDDD and also for putting the cherry in the cake MAYWATHER WOULD HAVE NEVER BUTCHERED ATG AND HEAVIER MEN THAN HIM LIKE GREB DID some of these are Gene tunney, tommy and mike gibbons, billy miske, tommy loughran, bill brennan and kid norfolk.
