It was a nice novelty at the time and the animation was great, but nowadays all movies must be cynical and self aware like it was. So I think it kinda dragged down the quality of animated cinema as a whole with its approach. And its directors also made that new Chip and Dale movie on Disney plus which was AWFUL.
