If you don't have axles that long you can use sharpened wooden skewers, they slip out of the T-piece easily, making them fly faster.

Nice, but try using that mechanism and turning it into a lifelike gun with a trigger so u don’t have to hold back the axle

For the piece that's holding the axle, you should instead use one of those red pieces used in transmissions. The axle hole has no friction.
