A year ago i when i was 17 i learned about the Achievements of Baldwin the IV and said to myself this great men when he was the same age as me achieved so much while i was wasting my time doing nothing with myself. 237th comment You forgot the part where Saladin wouldn’t attack Jerusalem as long as Baldwin was alive. Saladin, upon seeing Baldwin on his death bed approaching the battlefield, withdrew his Army.

He also inspired Christians because he suffered a lot and sacrificed a lot for the kingdom, resembling Christ.

To have carried the stigma of disease with dignity and faith, inspiring warriors who would likely be disgusted by you, all while having to be a king and military strategist, is a remarkable testament to Baldwin IV's sheer force of will and devotion to Christ. Glad to see people taking an interest in this amazing figure from history again.
