The loom I am using is the Louet 8 shaft table loom. This loom is made in the Netherlands but is available round the world. The web address is www.louet.nl/ My loom is an older version. The new version is the Jane which has an improved design. It folds down and can be easily transported with a warp in place. I have a stand for use at home. best wishes Susan

Susan, how do you know what sett to use for your threads so you get a warp faced band? Thanks so much! Love your videos!

+Kathy Britton Hi Kathy I sample to check if the sett is correct. I weave about an inch in a sett I think is correct. If the pattern threads sit snugly together with no gaps when they are in the pattern. that is usually correct. If they are too close together the pattern elongates and is not clear. If they are too far apart the background threads in between the pattern threads start to show through. The pattern should have a crisp outline on the surface of the band. Being latvian, I can say, that easyest way to weave wide belts, for exsample Lielvarede belts, we use only latvian weaving style: 3:1.I do it on 4 shafts if there are 207nthreads, for example or on 2 shafts if belt is not so wide.

I find it so much easier, and faster to use just 2 shafts, and have the pattern threads floating unheddled. The result is like using a double slotted heddle.
