Hi everyone. Today's video is a book review of The Silverblood Promise by James Logan. This review will be spoiler-free. It has to be because this book isn't out yet until April 2024. This is one of my most anticipated books of next year, and I'm glad I have the chance to read and review it early. I believe The Silverblood Promise will be suitable for those who loved The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch and Foundryside by Robert Jackson Bennett. Maybe add a touch of Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson and The Blade Itself by Joe Abercrombie. Let me know whether you have this on your radar or not. I highly recommend The Silverblood Promise if you loved the books I mentioned.

I've just finished the Silverblood Promise. It was quite nice in the beginning, but actually the characters grew on me the more I read. The world and its history became more complex as well. So I will definitely read the sequel as well!

Audiobook will be releaed on the same day of the US release date. So May 7th 2024. No confirmation on who the narrator is yet, though!

Hi Petrik ! This sound fantastic, I’m definitely bying the book. I Loved the lies of Locke lamorra and should read foundryside next january. Could you tell me if this book is somewhat self-contained, or if it ends with a lot of questions/cliffhangers ? Just so I know where to put it in my tbr 😊

Definitely self contained and no cliffhanger. If you've read Lies of Locke Lamora, it pretty much ended satisfyingly like that!

That sounds eerily similar to the plot of In the Shadow of Lightning by Brian McClellen (although I only read the first 20% or so of that book, I completely forgot about it until now).

I'll be stressed if it's similar to In The Shadow of Lightning. Content is nothing similar at all. I barely managed to finish that book. So damn boring and okay-ish. Gave it 2.5 stars.

Have you watched The Sword of the Stranger anime movie, animated by Madhouse and Yutaka Nakamura with probably the best animation in any anime movie I've ever seen? It's a beautiful anime with the badass and the kid trope. Also, another similar underhyped anime with a strong female badass and a kid is Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit. Do give them a try if you haven't and see if you end up liking them.
