Can we just appreciate Shinobu and the fact that she's the real hero? She basically saved everyone. She turned Nezuko into a human Saved Zenitsu's life Worked with two demons to create antidotes. Was there as a mother figure to inosuke and Nezuko Was the one to take care of Kanao Was the one who took in the kamado siblings(Fun fact shinobu and giyuu are like the kamado sibling's parents) Shinobu had toxics in her body when douma ate her, so when inosuke and kanao was fighting douma, Shinobu was basically helping them kill douma. When Tanjiro was turning into a demon, kanao(i think) gave him Shinobu's Antidote to turn into a human. Shinobu kocho is the hero-

Shinobu was the Iron Man of Demon Slayer. She took down a powerful villain at the cost of her own life.

This just proves in the fight against Douma and Muzan that you can’t get to cocky when your opponents are physically weaker. Mad respect for Shinobu.

I really like the scene on the roof when Tanjito said he sensed that shinobu’s always angry at something that when I fell in love with her. I like her complexity. I like how she contains herself despite the rage going on inside of her.

Honestly, we have to think about Kanao in this situation. She's lost everything she's ever loved. First it was Kanae, then it was Shinobu. I'm glad Shinobu and Kanae went on to enjoy their days in heaven, but Kanao is stuck on earth, living for them. It breaks my heart, and I'm glad Kanao ended up happy with Tanjiro at the end of the manga. *Also, I'm not trying to say we should ignore Shinobu's struggles. She's gone through a lot too, losing her biological sister, going through all that pain of her lung being ruptured to avenge her sister, but Kanao wasn't able to cry for Kanae's passing. She didn't have any emotion, but she apologized for not grieving. For not crying, for not being there for her when she was passing. She regained her emotion by the time Shinobu was dead though, and she just cried with her butterfly, in her hands. Grieving for the loss of both of her sisters, who took her in as their own.*

I will standby my assertion that Shinobu living to the end would've been more symbolic than if she died and what Gotouge should have done instead of the poetic stuff. Mainly because it would show how events don't always go as planned (which is life in general) and it would teach us more about looking at what we have than what we've lost, especially when our deepest drive is no longer necessary. Out of all the Hashira where we could see a lesson "shown" and not "told," Shinobu is the best one to do it. I also put forth that Gotouge wrote inconsistently about Shinobu's plan. Saying that it was the ultimate plan with that Kanao flashback? The dialogue during Shinobu's 1v1 indicates she wanted to kill her nemesis without going with the plan. If you look at the amount of effort and internal dialogue in the 1v1, its clear that the sacrifice plan was merely a failsafe plan, but Gotouge didn't make that clear in the Kanao flashback. I know its the first work, but its another instance to me that Gotouge's writing isn't as up to par as it should've been.

I wonder what would’ve happened if Inosuke and Kanao got there earlier before Shinobu was struck down

I am kinda mixed on Shinobu's character. She's easily the most complex person in the story, as she always shows an outer, happy facade that hides the deep rage that sleeps within her. The conflict she deals with knowing how she should respect Kanae's ideals for creating a world where humans and demons can co-exist, but also trying to get revenge on the Demon who murdered her sister. And while she dies at the hands of the Upper 2, her death does lead to Kanao and Inosuke prevailing at the end, completing her revenge as she leaves her sisters dreams in the hands of her youngest sister and Tanjiro. But yet, if we really think about it, Shinobu really didn't do much the entire story. She got one fight at the mountain against the female spider demon, then the battle against the upper moon. She basically got 2 fights, one where she dominated, and the other, where she died. I feel like if we gotten more less one-sides fights with her, and more interactions between her and Kanao, Tanjiro, Ginyu, Nezuko

Imagine if doumas paradise faith cult was actually a real thing and people really do come to him to feel pleasure of feel like they have a purpose and try to find purpose within douma, actually allowing him to eat them and kanae was one of those people, or douma just couldn’t tell a demon slayer from a person joining his faith cult.
