In 1980 l was all into post punk and new wave then Heaven and He'll came on the radio and l was like "holy f*** listen to this guy" l drove straight to the record store and bought the album. Just the day before l told a friend "there is no Black Sabbath without Ozzy" had no problem admitting l got that one wrong

Got stuck on a flight delay due to weather so went to the airport lounge and ordered a coke. The frizzy haired guy next to me says "l got this round" lt was Ronnie. He was a great guy he made single complaint about traveling for his job the we talked about flying since l flew myself in. He was interested in getting a civil license. He gave me an email address and l sent him some information. Not long after that l heard he had passed. Such a nice guy

I saw him on that same tour in Pittsburgh when I was home on leave from the Army in 1984. The next time I saw him was Aug 22nd 2009, the Black Sabbath tour in Cleveland when I was living in northeast Ohio, less than nine months before he died, I just couldn't believe it, after all those years I got to see him again and then he died out of the blue not long after, the concert itself was an out of the blue thing, a friend of my girlfriend who is plugged into the concert scene up there from working for a Cleveland production company called us the day of the show and said if we wanted to see it just let him know and there'd be two tickets waiting for us at the box office of the venue, he said it was a birthday treat for me since my birthday was just 8 days later on the 30th, and then just months later and without warning, not like he was sick or anything and you could see it coming, just all of the sudden someone who'd been such a big part of my personal little rock n roll journey through life was gone, Rainbow, him with Sabbath in the Heaven and Hell/Mob Rules era, then those great solo albums of his in the mid 80's, and then all those years later on a spur of the moment thing getting to see him actually with Sabbath instead of just with them on a poster on my bedroom wall, then poof, like some kind of a cloud that dissappears he was gone, it still blows my mind when I think about it.

I am glad that I had the chance to see Heaven & Hell in San Bernadino. What an amazing show! DIO is my favorite singer, and that night was epic! There were four bands on the bill that night. Testament was the opener, followed by Motorhead, then Heaven & Hell and Judas Priest closed the show. What a night to remember! Every time I listen to DIO, I always remember that night with a smile. RIP RONNIE JAMES DIO and thank you for giving all metal fans everywhere the gift of such great music and your music lives on through each and every one of us. CHEERS!

Right on my friend. Not too many people are fully aware of RJD's entire music career. Not that I really GAF about the R&RHoF anymore due to their lack of integrity. However, it boggles my mind & pissed me off why Dio hasn't been inducted into the Rock Hall yet. IDK the reason why Dio's been snubbed all these years but if anybody has the qualifications to be inducted according to what it takes to be considered by the Rock Hall committee, it's Dio. Ronnie was the epitome of Rock n' Roll. Like you mentioned Dio was playing bass & singing in a Doo-Wop group back when the term was coined & they actually played Rock n' Roll. Which was before the Beatles, the Stones, the Who or Zeppelin were even though of being a group. Dio progressed his group "Ronnie & the Rumblers" into the Hard Rock band the "Elves" which turned into him joining up with Richie Blackmore's "Rainbow." Ronnie then went on to replace Ozzy in one of the most iconic bands in music history joining "Black Sabbath" & ended his career how it begun with his own solo group simply called "Dio." IDK for sure so don't quote me, but I feel confident in saying that throughout RJD's entire music career Dio wrote more songs about & titled with the words Rock n' Roll in them than anybody else ever in music history. Dio also arguably created or at the very least popularized the most iconic hand gestures in music. You can go to any Rock, Metal, Country, Hip-Hop, etc... concert right now today & I guarantee you'll see fans in the crowds with their hands held high in sky putting up the 2 finger horn hand symbol gesture, no bout a doubt it. Dio was one of the most iconic singers & voices ever in music. The impact of inspiration & influence he had & gave to others even still today in music is hard to beat. I can go on & on but you already know this man, right? 😂😜🤣 Blah,ha!! Just saying.. ++Peace & Rock n' Roll 4 Your Soul My Friend++ 🤘😎🤘

You left out the part where Sharon Osbourne introduced Ronnie to Tony Iommi after they fired Ozzy. And that the accusations of Ronnie raising his vocal tracks from Live Evil was by someone at the studio who was a drunk and called Tony and lied about it.
