Were I Harry Potter once the Second Wizarding War was over I would have seen to it that Dolores Umbridge received the Dementor's Kiss.

Umbridge truly is the most evil character in all of the books to me, and I think that was intended. Voldemort may be evil, but at least with him you know exactly what you get. And honestly, his beliefs didn’t come from nowhere, and there’s a reason many of his followers have those beliefs as well. Heck, even Dumbledore held many of those same beliefs in his early days. Tom Riddle clearly did not have a happy childhood at the orphanage where he was likely bullied for being different. Although his father’s DNA helped give some variety, there are also hints that due to frequent intermarriage to keep the bloodline pure, there are hints that Tom inherited a bit of madness from his mother’s side. Draco Malfoy may have been evil at times, but he was also young, and when he was faced with stepping over the line to true evil where someone could be killed he always did the right thing even if it put him at risk. Dudley was a bit evil, but that was poor parenting, and at the very end the love and kindness and gratitude he shows Harry is truly touching. Petunia came off as being quite evil, which apparently was driven a lot by jealousy towards her sister, but even if she took her jealousy out on Harry in pretty evil ways, she still took him in and insisted he stay in Book 5, even though she knew Voldemort had it out for Harry, and that even with the protections in place they weren’t foolproof, as the Dementor attack on Dudley had proven. Snape, James, Sirius, Lupin, and Pettigrew all have moments of being cruel, but they also all have backstories that make their cruelty more understandable and moments of goodness that partially or even fully make up for the bad. Vernon is clearly very selfish, and he is also cruel to Harry. But in his defense, first, he did do consent to taking Harry in, even if he didn’t treat him right, and second, beyond gossiping and perhaps enjoying when he got ahead of other people financially or in reputation and enjoying when others had setbacks financially or by reputation, Vernon never really went out of his way to hurt anyone but Harry, and even with Harry he seemed to buy into his own explanation of he was torturing Harry for Harry’s own good because he was going to shame Harry’s weirdness out of him and make him a normal, contributing member of society. Sure, he also hurt Dudley by overindulging him, but that was clearly not conscious intent. I could go on, but the point is that while the book lists many truly evil characters and truly indefensible acts - both one-off and patterns of abuse - all other characters either had understandable reasons that contributed to how they turned out or made sacrifices or dangerous decisions that at least partly redeem them or were at least only took their evilness as far as it supported their own self-interest or were at least more straightforward with who they were and why they did what they did and what side they were on. Umbridge doesn’t get any of these mitigating factors. Her evil was truly insidious. It’s pretty clear that her desire to do evil goes way beyond just self-interest. She clearly is a sadist who enjoys hurting people for the sake of hurting them and of pushing her power over them as far as she can. She pretends to be completely harmless and law-abiding and sweet, and uses the law and her position to get the community to do a lot of her dirty work for her. Sure, the punishments with quills that write in your own blood are particularly nasty, and an adult with government powers being allowed to punish minors under her care is quite frightening, but Umbridge’s clearest greatest desire and skill is in gaslighting. She doesn’t just want to hurt people for the sake of hurting them. She wants to prove she can get them to say and do and believe anything she wants them to say and do and believe. And if she changes what she wants, she expects her victims to automatically follow her lead and change what they do and say and believe. Voldemort may enjoy physically dominating someone, but that’s not even close to enough for Umbridge. If she hasn’t managed to completely break your spirit and free will and ability to perceive objective reality all while technically leaving your free will magically intact she is not satisfied. Personally, I would rather face a Voldemort and die for a cause I believe in that face a successful Umbridge and live with my sanity, free will, and ability to perceive objective reality completely destroyed.

And I thought that Umbridge was bad in the books because she only inflicted her punishment method on Harry and Lee as well as getting Fred, George, and Harry a lifetime ban from playing Quidditch.

Voldemort wand was 13 inches so I don’t think the wand being short was due to her moral standards

Dolores is more we found in society as hypocrites. Instead of helping others, she make it worse. I guess she is more like a power hunger too.

So satisfying to know that Umbridge will never get out of Azkaban. I wouldn't go as far as to say she should have been subjected to the Dementor's Kiss, only Voldemort would deserve such a fate, but she does deserve a life behind bars. Also, while on the subject of Dementors, it's probably a safe assumption that imagining Umbridge sacked created one of Harry's best Patronuses.

Since she hates half bloods and muggle born witches or wizards, I would’ve said to her, look who’s talking.

Voldemort was incapable of love from birth due to the love potion used by his mother so his story is actually a tragedy and a lot of the Death Eaters had psychotic dispositions due to their families inbreeding. However I can't think of a word to describe the cruelty of Umbridge, she has no excuse and the fact that she can actually produce a patronus shows that she was too cowardly to immerse herself properly into the dark arts as most dark wizards are consumed by maggots when they attempt to produce one, no matter on their skill level.

We never elected her as Head Girl or Prefect mainly because we seen that she was not fit for the role. She was a disgrace to Halfbloods everywhere , including myself. I was not ashamed that I was Halfblood, and of course she did not like this. I fully disagreed with her notion against halfbreeds, including Were-wolfs, Mermaids, and Centaurs. I always stood next to Harry when she would offend him and I always stepped in when she pushed too much. Politics have no room in a classroom if they are to be taught properly. She was never a proper teacher and could have never hold the competence to teach. I simply wasnt going to take anything that she had said as truth and she annoyed me to my breaking point when she invertedly distrupted my class, on purpose without actually letting me teach.

What?! Umbridge was in Slytherin during her days at Hogwarts? I would figure she would be in Hufflepuff because of her diligence and being doggedly loyal to her beliefs, making her a rare instance of a Hufflepuff that became an evil witch/wizard. Even still, she was one of the scariest villains I encountered in reading as a child: villains that could be found in the real world, magical abilities not withstanding.

Today I am rating the Hogwarts professors. A good teacher has good subject knowledge, kind but strict to students, has a good relationship with the students, makes the subjects interesting, every one understands the essence of the subjects. Based on the qualities, merits, teaching style , actions and some special incidents in their tenure I am marking them out of 10. Note: this is just my opinion and might be different from yours and might not be necessarily correct. This woman is supposed to be a parody/satire of Margaret Thatcher. I... guess I can see a few similarities, like the hairdo (at least with Film!Umbridge), but here's the thing: whatever her flaws were, Thatcher was still pretty badass, and she didn't back down from a fight; Umbridge was a smug bully who thought she was the big deal when she was really cannon fodder. In particular, Umbridge was quite fond of rattling off her various titles to make herself look more important than she was; Thatcher said the following--"Being in power is like being a lady. If you tell people you are, you aren't."
