Eren Jaeger is a member of the Scout Regiment and the main protagonist of Attack on Titan. He is the only son of Grisha and Carla Jaeger, the adoptive brother of Mikasa Ackermann, the younger paternal half brother of Zeke Jaeger and the current holder of the Attack Titan, Founding Titan, and the War Hammer Titan. Eren was born and raised in Shiganshina District, which is located on the southern edge of Wall Maria. He lived there until the year 845, when the Colossal and Armored Titans breached the Wall, allowing a flood of Titans to invade and destroy the city. During the incident, Eren witnessed his mother being murdered and eaten by a smiling Titan. This event aroused in Eren an intense hatred towards the Titans, and he swore to wipe all of them off the face of the earth. Soon afterward, his father, Grisha Jaeger, found him and gave him the key to his basement, instructing Eren to find it at all costs and retake Wall Maria. He then injected Eren with a Titan injection. Two years later, Eren along with his adoptive sister Mikasa Ackermann and his best friend Armin Arlelt joined the 104th Cadet Corps. The three successfully graduated, with Eren ranking as the 5th best cadet, and they joined the Scout Regiment following the struggle for Trost. After finding the basement and unlocking his father's memories, Eren learned about the truth of what the Titans are, as well as the history of Eldia and Marley. Eren then vowed to free his home from their true enemy: the rest of humanity that lives across the sea. Eren currently possesses the power of three Titans. From his father, Eren inherited the Attack and Founding Titan. After eating Lara Tybur during the Raid on Liberio, he gained the War Hammer Titan as well.

He sure had one of the most jarring falls from grace ever put to a current gen anime/manga. When from idealistic hero wanting freedom while saving his friends and humanity to a broken jaded shell turning to vengeance and full on genocide. Mikasa finishing him was symbolic, she protected and loved him thus sparing him from sinking deeper, and he already dug quite the hole.

He purposely made himself the villain so that his friends and paradis would be free from war and conflict, he was always willing to risk his life to save his friends, from the very beginning.

I'm just so depressed now...I only started watching Attack on Titan two years ago and I am emotionally drained...this is just too much to take in...like the guy we were all rooting for is dead and I feel like somebody just slapped me in the face I understand that the ending was supposed to be poetic and meant to describe that war and peace are both human nature, none absolute only opposing but it seems so desolate now that it's here. In my mind, Eren represents the human desire for freedom and his strive to get it fueled him. This is the most heartbreaking and philosophic ending I've witnessed and although I don't love it, I feel like it deserves my respect.

I still remember when AOT anime was only one season long…. Get high as fuck and closing all the curtains in my house, binge watching that first season after a buddy told me “ dude it’s like walking dead of anime, anyone can die at anytime!”… fast forward 4 episodes and I sit in shock as the presumed “main character” gets his leg bitten off and then fully swallowed by these large “zombie-like” creatures called Titans….. I’ll never forget just how blown away I was with that first season

(Spoilers but you already know that) The final scenes of the manga depict all or paradis being rebuilt and advancing only to suffer war again in the moderen day and destroying paradis the one thing that stood was erens grave as it grew into a giant tree (similar to the one ymir fell into) the final panel of the manga shows a kid wandering to erens grave and fiing a hole in a tree in it just like how ymir found it with all this in mind i just got 1 thing to say Ah shit here we go again

his character is really well written, from a young opportunist bent on saving the world to protect the ones he loved to a hollow, vengeance fueled terrorist leaving himself open to be killed for the sake of the island. a fall from grace but understandable given the fact that he felt he felt what he did was the only possible way

Eren planned his own birth 🤯 Just a theory But when eren Kruger( the owl) was about to give the attack titan to Grisha he told him to start a family inside the walls and protect Mikasa and Armin. So my theory is Eren was passing those memories to Kruger knowing very well that he will be born.

I've just realised how deep and perfect the war for Paradis arc is 1:War for Paradis(it's so suspence ful and so true ,it has the slowest start as compared to other arcs but the best middle and final episodes) 2:Marley 3:Return to Shiganshina 4:Uprising arc 5:Season 2 6:season 1 I don't know where to place the rumbling arc honestly It's either above the RTS or the Marley arc but not above war for Paradis

What I’ll never understand is why Grisha asked Zeke to stop Eren yet allowed Eren to eat him. I assume Carla’s death has something to do with it seeing that Eren didn’t give him details of her death, but it still makes no sense cause he still chooses to pass on the founders/ attack titan to Eren without said details. Time paradox’s are always a bad idea cause you can always find holes in them.

At the time that he told Zeke to stop older Eren, Grisha didn't know that Carla had died. So when younger Eren told Grisha that Carla had died, I believe he then thought that there was no other way to protect the Subjects of Ymir unless they fought back. Hence why he let younger Eren eat him, so as to help him, through the power of the Attack Titan, to get revenge possibly. But yeah, time paradox😅😅

Fun fact 12:15 is also the time when Mikasa gets her signature right cheek scar, when a rock from Eren's punch flies and cuts her. To me, it has always served as a sad reminder for both of them. *SPOILER* The scar is never mentioned again ever in the anime. *END OF SPOILER*

"everyone can become a killer if you push em far enough" or "You either die a hero or live long to see yourself become the villain" are some quotes that i think Eren can relate to it. the complexity and developpement of the character made me respect him even tho most of his choice weren't that great honeslty. Eren was right, as long as Marley or Eldia isn't annihilated, both are gonna fight fo eternity.
