Piccolo Jr., usually just called Piccolo or Kamiccolo and also known as Ma Junior, is a Namekian and also the final child and reincarnation of King Piccolo, later becoming the reunification of the Nameless Namekian after fusing with Kami. According to Grand Elder Guru, Piccolo, along with Kami and King Piccolo, are part of the Dragon Clan, who were the original creators of the Dragon Balls. A wise and cunning warrior, he was the main antagonist in the final saga of Dragon Ball, the Piccolo Jr. Saga, and was thus a ruthless enemy of Goku. However, starting with the first saga of Dragon Ball Z, the Raditz Saga, he began to lose all villainous traits, and when he started training Goku's son Gohan during the Vegeta Saga which led to the two developing a strong bond with each other, he became a permanent member of the Dragon Team and eventually one of Earth's greatest heroes.

I'll be honest. Piccolo ending in GT for sacrificing himself then going to heaven then pretending to be evil and start blasting up the place is honestly the best. Then we see him as a protector of hell is the sweetest thing. Piccolo would rather live eternally in hell dealing with bad souls then eternal mediation in heaven. I love Piccolo, he's the sweetest and greatest character.

@@joshuagcabashe2691 TFS tainted many people's views of Goku as a father. I love their take, but anyone who pays attention knows Goku was a great father who wanted his son to be able to defend himself after Goku dies. He literally puts his life on the line for Gohan many times and has shown his great love, and respect, for his son as well. Just look at Super when they fought, you could clearly tell Goku cares about his son immensely and also has great pride in the man Gohan grew up to become. Yes, Piccolo was a great mentor and uncle, but he wasn't, and never will be, Gohan's father.

I love how Piccolo and Vegeta destroy planetary bodies so easy in season 1 but then they decide that world destroying is a big deal later...until its not again. Also I know its from DBZ abridged not the real cannon, but I love keeping Nail and Kami around in his head.

@@ironreed2654 No, it’s called AoE and Ki control. They reduce not only the area of effect of their attacks but control their Ki blasts so that they don’t end up destroying the very planet they’re trying to protect in every fight.

I wish they could find a way to give him a power up so he’s relevant again. They had an opportunity to do so in the Moro Arc when all the Namekians fused together to fight Moro. If Piccolo could’ve fused him that person he would’ve been very strong.

It's a shame you skipped over the filler episodes like the Garlic Jr. saga or the episode where Chichi makes both Goku & Piccolo taking driving school to get licenses, despite not needing to because they can fly. Piccolo learning to drive was hilarious!

One of the greatest villain to hero character arcs in anime also on a side note I always loved comparing naruto characters to their dragon ball counterpart I say Gaara is the Piccolo -both were born in unfortunate circumstances -boths villainous roles are in a tournament arc -main character beats them up and they start to learn a lesson from the main character -eventually they are a hero and comparing them to where they started is insane -both end up becoming more of a voice of reason -both after reforming have massive respect to the main character -oh also both were introverted with amazing voice actors in both sub and dub

He is the best anime character ever created as he has one of the best character development out of any character in any anime.He my favorite anime character in anime. A lot of people don’t think about how he was literally stronger than Goku and Vegeta as super sayins at one point in Android Sags, even with his WEIGHTED CLOTHING on!

I like how, in the beginning, Piccolo thought himself to be a Demon King, evil incarnate. Neither us nor he knew he was Namekian at the time, so he literally believed he was The Devil. Then, at the end of the series, he ends up in Hell, becoming its protector. Not really a king of demons, but still. Amazing character, with interesting story and character arc

It's amazing. If Goku would have survived (impossible ik) the SBC and only Radditz died then the evil in Piccolo may never have naturally dispersed. While it is a sacrifice willing made it doesn't change the fact Piccolo was finally able to complete his parent's wishes then immediately piss on the Daemon King grave by being Goku's best family friend.
