nobody asked, but it now exist. you're welcome there is a guide (dbs interval special) that is repeated again in another that says that base gohan is actually ultimate gohan in the manga vs Kefla (no bang) but then he gets the bang during Super Hero after an angry transformation. so take that as you will, this obviously doesn't change anything about Piccolo's scaling, other than making his Ultimate Form vs Gamma 2 more grounded. I would recommend using the Goku vs Broly stuff the most anyway.

Its been my headcanon that the reason why the Shenron potential unlock was so successful for Piccolo was because it unlocked the potentials of 2-3 namekians not just Piccolo as an entity himself.

It was unlocking the potential of The Nameless Namekian. A monster who was expected to have just naturally matured into power capable of defeating Frieza (not to say Saichoro was necessarily correct, but it wouldn't surprise me if the Great Elder was able to sense an approximation of the power sealed within Frieza below his suppression forms.) Bear in mind, just one half of the Nameless Namekian demonstrates potential comparable to Goku and Vegeta, he just lags behind because he lacks the Saiyan Race's hax to break through plateaus far more easily than other races and lacks transformations to tap into latent potential on demand. From where I'm standing, the Nameless Namekian is a monster with potential on par with Goten and Trunks, far above that of Goku and Vegeta but below the apex monsters of Broly, Gohan and Frieza.

Pretty much, because Kami was still his own entity despite being reunited with piccolo (source: piccolo & Gohan vs U6 Namekians) Meaning Nail, Kami AND PICCOLO got their potentials unlocked. Two warrior namekians, and the creator of the previous Shenron (before Dende upgraded him).

I'd guess Piccolo displays extreme regenerative abilities partly because of the nature of his conception and birth, where Demon King Piccolo may have created an offspring that would be able to survive the kind of injury that killed his fathermother. Maybe it was just a latent Namekian ability that was particularly heavily developed in Piccolo and not a completely novel adaptation

If in case anyone asks. Yes. Its precisely thanks to Seth's Long-Format Videos like Goku and of Course, Piccolo's, that I myself was inspired to do my own Composite Scaling for all the movie villains and other characters. Sometimes, its the tiny nuance of the writing, their abilities, to weird statements and canonicity that can make these characters stupidly OP. Love to see these videos come to light because its really awesome to re-evaluate the characters to their opmost calibre, as well as enhance our reason to love (or hate lol) these characters. Piccolo will forever be THE GOAT!

Great video, I'm a little surprised that Piccolo lunging at Dabura with his weights on and scraping with him a little in Dragon Ball Kai wasn't mentioned but not a big deal. Might also be worth mentioning that there is some evidence for Piccolo being relative to Trunks and Vegeta during the Cell Games in the manga: the cover page for chapter 408 (the chapter when Gohan starts killing Cell Jrs) Piccolo, Trunks and Vegeta are depicted as being the only ones still standing while everyone else is downed, and when Cell mentions that Vegeta and Trunks are the only ones holding their own against the Cell Jrs, Cell uses the particle ya, a particle used when describing non-exhaustive lists implying that Vegeta and Trunks aren't necessarily the only individuals holding their own but were merely the first that came to mind. Still not too important either way, but something that might be helpful to the Piccolo Apologists.

There's a difference between the scaling chains for manga versus anime. Anime is a lot stronger than manga. Piccolo was never shown holding off the cell jrs in manga at all while in the anime, characters like tien and yamcha scale higher because they are able to surprise and knock back them though it could be argued that the cell jrs were toying around and suppressed

This has to do with Piccolo not being a favorite in Japan at the time. By the time the anime was launching his popularity was much higher as the show became internationally popular, so he was given more screen time. But his fate of being sidelined was inevitable.@@lapplandkun9273

I always mentally had Piccolo in the Buu Arc a little higher than the level of regular Perfect Cell, but not at the level of Super Perfect Cell. That Always made sense to me. Which again is a bit sad because it's not a lot higher than we see him at in the end of the Cell Arc, where he was fighting a Cell Junior who was arguably at Cell's power level. So Piccolo did have some gains during that period, but they weren't major.

What’s crazy is that he didn’t even mention the extremely huge Anime feats in the Frieza and garlic jr saga. I’ll list a few: 1.) Base Goku spreads his Ki across the entire namekian solar system in seconds 2.) Frieza’s Namek busting explosion is so huge and powerful it is visibly shown affecting the galaxy in a decent scale AND when Namek is destroyed it leaves a hole in space where there’s no longer any stars visible on some cosmic Garou vs saitama shit. 3.) Garlic Jr’s deadzone (whichever interpretation you go with, it’s clear he creates it with his Ki) absorbs the 2 realms with starry skies in the lookout which Kami and Popo go into. The filler actually shows the realms containing stars and even entire solar systems in it. All of this scales to Piccolo at least by the Android arc making all of these solar to multi solar level feats extremely consistent in the anime.

Damn this was a crazy good video, I love piccolo so it's really validating to get this before a Vegeta video piccolo deserves it, I really enjoy how Piccolo gets gassed up in the anime.... Sometimes

Another banger as usual. Just wanted to throw my two cents in while I'm still awake at 4am across the world over here in Finland. I like the subtle religious tone of piccolo fusing with kami being that no matter how old you are, it's never too late to cleanse the evil from your heart. The reincarnated literal demon lord finds his way back to God and becomes one with God, being totally changed afterwards. It's actually such a religious experience that piccolo at first doesn't even want to use his old name, much like how born again Christians or even recovering alcoholics like to use a different name (like wanting to be called Robert instead of Bob for instance) and it fits really well considering this is a world where Buddhism and Christianity exists. I think this is also represented as you say with the speech bubbles being different, but it manages to do this and have this subtlety to it and is able to pull it off without straight up forcing it down your throat. Piccolo has always been my favorite character from way back in the series when I very first seen him get back his youth and vigor. The old demon king, the reborn Ma Junior all the way to orange papi. Glad to see someone besides Quamaan give some love to the OG.
