I can understand why people are so shocked about Sebastian after being so used to the cartoon version, but the thing is....... THAT'S WHAT A CRAB LOOKS LIKE! 😆

In the cartoon, they literally grabbed the guy's pink meat to pull through the front of his shell to make a face. That's not how a crab works...lol. Talking live action animals are gonna be weird, but I am 100% into this movie!

That girl can sing.. that belt at the end gave me life. Disney live-actions will always be limited by the fact that anthropomorphic animals or furniture will always be bizarre in a live-action; there's no way around it... I keep thinking about it...nope.

@@TheMontyVerse Honestly, as a kid I never understood his design, because not to long afterwards I saw what a real crab looked like. 😅 You remember when he had all that teeth when Triton was trying to get him to spill the beans in the original? I think it can pass 😆

@@tygerchickchibi That is fair, maybe Lazy is a bit too harsh as I do respect the time and effort the artist put into this CG creations. I personally just feel the live-action Disney remakes feel rushed and uninspired in terms of making things work or creating a world in which things can work better.

Sebastian looks adorable. Like an actual crab A cartoonish version would've been a fail. I'm glad they went that route. And the sea gets pretty dark...it's the sea after all and sunlight can reach so far...and night is night. Science sucks with lighting for some people. 😂

Adorable is not the word I would use 😂. He definitely looks like a regular crab. I actually think the underwater scenes were lit very well, I think they cheated with the lighting underwater well. It is the boat scene with Ariel and Eric that looks too dark.

Sébastien is a ghost crab and they naturally have those eyes. He's the same kinda crab as Mr. Crabs from SpongeBob.

We were overall positive in this video and every other video about this movie but there is no denying that design is lazy and kinda stupid. It is growing on me and it will be my fugly icon of 2023

@Don't Look @ Me I mean, we're more than happy to give the movie a chance, but I think it's perfectly reasonable for us to give an opinion of what we've been shown so far and I don't think it's fair to say we're just looking for something to hate. Otherwise, what's the point of trailers or first looks at anything? That being said, I'm hoping that maybe seeing Sebastian in action in the film will make us see him in a better light!

I'm hoping we enjoy the movie and I'm hoping that maybe once we see it and see more how Sebastian looks in the film as a whole, it'll turn our opinions around! The thing about Sebastian is that in the animated version he didn't even look like a crab. He looked more like a lobster, so it was never right from the beginning. I think that he looks fine. He is supposed to be a crab, so I'm not sure how else he can look!

Kids little mermaid movie. Children have no issues with trailer or movie. Children trailer reactions are so adorable. Children are so excited about seeing this movie. It's some adults who are whining and having issues with trailer and movie.

Just a thought; maybe they lightened a couple of the scenes a bit, but most of the previously released trailers/ teasers were mostly the dark water scenes, and meant to be dark..

I'm sure there's definitely ways Sebastian could've looked creepier than this! That said, I don't think he ever had a human face, so I wasn't expecting that at all. Cartoon Sebastian had teeth, but that was pretty much the extent of it from what I remember.

Saw this trailer and I’m not sure what to think. One hand I kind want to check it out. The other hand didn’t really grow up with the little mermaid. But the trailer was all right and your reaction was awesome. Sebastian was ugly as f**k

This. isn't the cartoon. Watch that if you want cartoonish and expressive animals. It would make no sense for them to look unrealistic in a realistic setting.

After the underwater worlds in Wakanda Forever, Avatar 2 and even Aquaman showed how cool it could be, this just looks like another Chapek-rushed rendering, and this time from normally mediocre filmmaker Rob Marshall. I hope she does well in the lead, but I don’t have a ton of faith in the total project.

My point is that if your going to go with the realist approach (for a talking crab, which doesnt even work in the first place) at least make a google search and make it make sense. They did it with Flounder, so why fumble here.

You hit the nail on the head: It is fake and fiction so why can't we suspend our disbelief enough to have a Sebastian that is both realistically but more aesthetically pleasing? You keep saying real world but clearly this is a fantasy world. Disney really needs to find a better way. You can insult me all you like but it is just my opinion on one aspect of the trailer, we were very positive on everything else.

Yes, Sebastian is a crab but they could have done something to that design to make it look better. Sonic is a hedgehog but they changed his design to make it more pleasing on the eye and the movie thrived because of it. You can't really play the hyper realism card either because this is a movie about Mermaids and magic 🤣. Either way I think this movie looks good and I will be there to watch it opining day.
