Nice one Phil. It will be great when the loft is properly organized and you can go up and pick up what you need, without wasting half the day looking for it. Father Phil has accumulated vast knowledge from first hand experience. Now that you have the fire lighting under father Phil, keep the momentum going and get that Massey on the floor back to life.

Evening. Seeing that hitch reminds me. Iv a 8730 ford and in the market for a pickup hitch. Transpires most hitches seem to come from the emerald Isle. So in your experience which hitch suppler would be the best bet. Trying not to plug of course 😁 😜. That workshop is coming on a treat kind of jealous really 😉 😆 stay safe 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 👌 👍

What a creative genius!!! Your father is a jewel! Beautiful treated timber. You'll need to put lights and electric underneath the floor, Phil. How will you get the tractors out after they are repaired? If the gear is stripped, the piece needs to be tossed or given to an artist interested in industrial welding art pieces for gardens or public areas. What are you going to be doing with the chaise? When are you going to have time to work on it? and you found some stuff you can really use. Excellent!

I piece of advice when you put up the railing make sure you install a 2 4ft gates so you can open them to fork things into the loft and not have worry about damaging anything when doing it and to save your backs from having to carry it up and down the stairs. I did this for my place the first floor was my shop and the 2nd floor was my house. As soon as the building was signed off for completed and okay to move in I had to cut a few pieces off 1 of the railings and I had a gate which allowed me to move in all my house items with a fork lift which was a game changer instead of going up 30 stairs with heavy or bulky item's for the house. I built a 4ft by 8ft metal platform that my forks would lift and would allow me to load things on to and offload easy upstairs. If you need pictures to see what I'm talking about let me know and give me a email address where I can send the pictures and I would be happy to help you out the best I can from the USA. Ryne

Am not sure if the cost & labour off a loft justifies, in one hand you gain abit off space & loss abit in another, but yous will make good use outta it the way your working around it by storing old cabless tractors below.

Things are going to be happenin with that tractor in the very near future! ,! I have been saying that about a pile of scrap sitting in my workshop for years and you know what I am eventually going to bite the bullet and scrap the bloody thing, with the price of scrap at the minute it is my best option as back end knackered, gearbox dodgy and engine in need of a rebuild .
