Then the Night King turns to Bran, kneels and places the sword at his feet, episode ends with Bran giving the White Walkers and the Night King his resting bitch face. The faceless men are also an organization that two fan favorite characters are affiliated with, so audiences are encouraged to think as little as possible about their purpose, methods, goals, etc because developing them as the assassin death cult they are established to be as as that would taint these two characters and we can't have that. That, of course, made a dog's breakfast of Arya's character arc contributing to the writers' not knowing how to end things with her. She's probably one of the most egregious examples of writer and fan favorite characters being spared the logical consequences of their choices, but examples abound.

Catspaw has more significance than just being Valyrian Steel it was meant to kill Bran and is that the dagger that launched the first major war on the show - the Starks versus Lannister conflict that lead to the War of the Five Kings - was then eventually used to end the Great War.As for the Dothraki being killed so easily because one thing it was complete darkness and ran into the full force of the wights along with a few giants, easily to believe they wouldn't fair well.Jon was able to hide behind the rubble because Viserion was badly injured and breathing fire out his neck at that point so he was no where near 100 percent.Arya is a trained assasin for her whole life and has shown her stealth many times even sneaking up on Jon in Episode 1 this season and then past all the wights in the library.The wight walkers are smart and no way would they put themselves in the front line knowing if 1 of them were killed thousands of dead would fall as well.

Actually Season 7 goes downhill in the 5th episode already. This episode sets up Beyond the Wall and the forced Littlefinger vs. Arya & Sansa plot that leads to Lfs incredibly unbelievable and undeserved death. But the whole show in general has its lows in season 5 and 6 already. Jon's and Stannis' storyline and the Dorne plot in season 5 are not that thought-out. Season 6 is a rollercoaster in terms of quality. Arya's and Dany's storylines are bad, unsatisfying, far-fetched and add nothing new. Jon's is mixed while the King's Landing plot is great. The Winds of Winter is the best episode. Battle of the Bastards is visually stunning but unfortunately also implausible and inconsistent in writing.

Yea man, all that hodge podge bullshit about the white walkers, and then none of the main characters even get to fight one in the battle for Winterfell. So disappointing. Jorah gets a Valerian steel sword and for what? He doesn't even get to make use of it. All the mythology and mystery surrounding the enemies, and all that need for dragon glass, etc... goes out the window here. So much wasted time, the last season should be redone, or at least extra scenes should be added in to fill the bullshit gaps here. Go all the way to Dragonstone to get Dragon Glass and see not a single person using it in combat....

The long night battle felt like the characters getting together to go on a holiday team building exercise 😂😂

Sure they're downright susceptible to it, but we saw the Thenn and Tormund kill them with metal or even their bare hands and feet. Another thing the writers kinda forgot.

But my point is that arcane might be overhyped, like many shows for example attack on titan if you watch anime, some people treat it like it's the greatest piece of fiction ever. But that doesn't mean it's not good, and neither do arcane. Personally i loved the first act and everything after was just fine to me, but characters like silco are some of the best characters i've seen in animation in quite some time. And his parallel to vander and relationship to jynx was great. But you probably disagree...

Gotta say, Edd's fate is one setup/payoff that this episode did right. One.

Hear me out: bran could have been scouting the walkers, and those trebuchets would have been real handy if they used them in conjunction with bran, just knowing when and where your enemy will be set up a kill box, make some special dragon glass spiked projectiles and bam you have an instant anti death weapon, next the fight would have been far more intense if they have to fight through the undead horde just to get to the walkers kill them to widdle down the army, slowly but surely making the fight more winnable. Before finally only the night king stands between them and victory, this is where the real battle begins, if for whatever stupid reason you want arya to kill the night king make it matter, make it the only choice have her and Jon get locked in a serious 2v1 situation where the NK is fending off their attacks like its nothing, have Jon be about to die and arya jumps on him he grabs her and shoves his spear through her but in her last moments she looks at him and says "not today" and shoves her dagger into his face, as she bleeds out in Jon's arms we see arya stark close her eyes and nymeria open hers. Bonus points if for every walker death we lose at least one major character show how hopeless this battle is.
