The pigeon pie thing reminds me a lot of how those really fancy wedding cakes work in the modern wedding industry. [And I suspect this might have been an inspiration for the pie for George.] There's basically a "display" cake which is cut into by the bride and groom, which has been worked on for days, is covered in fondant, and is probably stale, and is not intended to be eaten; and then there's the slices of cake served to the actual wedding guests which is just, like, a normal fresh high-quality sheet cake with icing made for eating rather than looking. The "pie" with the live pigeons in it is presumably just a large pie plate they put a bunch of live pigeons in and then covered with a pre-baked pie crust -- that crust is cut into as a visual spectacle, but never intended to be eaten. The pie everyone is served is probably slices of many smaller pies prepared the normal way with pre-slaughtered, plucked, deboned/butchered pigeon meat in it.

Hello. I hope/wonder if this is overthinking. I know I have made lots of posts about my ASOIAF and GOT headcanons (and published my fan fic on 2 websites) and tried to be clear I am deeply indebted to not only the fan community in general, but specific creators. I mention a couple of times in the fan fic that its ideas are so indebted to others. That, plus the fact that I did not copy and paste text directly from the fan creators I was inspired by, AND am not making any money off the fic........I did not engage in stealing, did I? Well, maybe the list I am about to post is a little paranoid. But I also want to thank and shoutout some BRILLIANT creators out there! I owe them so much! Really helped me enjoy the franchise. THANK YOU TO THEM ALL AND GO CHECK OUT THEIR WORK! In a few places, I may have tweaked some things in my presentation of the final fan fic. But in the end......I never would have thought this stuff (and certainly not the stuff that slightly deviated from some of what they were going for) without them. Far more than any tweaks I made, this is a work that was born from these brilliant makers..... Also....I make the obvious caveat that none of them ever had conversations with me where they said "way to go! write this!" I think people suggesting the final battle against the Night King could/should have been a tag-team effort. - Did the showrunners canonized the idea that the Night King was made at what became the Winterfell Godswood? Or did I just see some fan(s) guess that? Either way, loved that idea! - A reddit like forum somewhere where someone talked about their version of the "Maester Conspiracy" idea - While these do not should up in the work itself, in terms of visualizing the whole of Planatos, I am in personal debut to multiple fan fics about Dunk and Egg's adventures, a speculation from a thread somewhere on how to interpret Dany's House of the Undying vision (loved it so much I consider it canon in my mind), and while how I sketched out in my mind what lies beyond Westeros in a way that was more me making my own things up, the impetus came from a video someone did writing a multipart story in maps of what happens after Game of Thrones ends.

I've been using these videos as a sleep aide lately and I noticed that in the time it took you to get the screenshot for the censored cut and now, this video has only gotten 200k views or so, whereas the censored version got over 2M views. god, the season 6 king's landing arc was so pointless. you can tell all of it had no purpose except to set up the "grand" finale where margaery, the other tyrells, the high sparrow and a couple other characters get eliminated at once. either they didn't know what to do with the tyrells, or they just got tired of writing them, so they just killed the entire family (minus olenna, but she's a redwyne either way), but it's just so cheap and falls flat. people call the sept explosion in 6x10 a great scene, but i disagree. the music is great. natalie dormer's acting is great. the visual effects are great. but the writing really isn't all that good, especially with hindsight - you can never feel the impact of the scene afterwards. it is almost never mentioned the following season. no consequences are faced. such a lazy resolution. take away the music and the scene instantly loses most of its power. a pig with lipstick and a dress on is still a pig. the dress and lipstick are pretty, sure, but beneath it all is still a dirty animal who rolls around in mud and shit.

The white savior memes with Daenerys are pretty funny, but the scene is a pretty good one. Also it makes sense that Davos would not hold Tyrion, his wartime foe, responsible for the death of his son. Tyrion was doing his duty to protect Kings landing.

This episode is a great example of something they did throughout Season 6 became so frustrating with time. They would dip their toes into the lore they essentially abandoned in Season 5 but do it in such a superficial way. I remember feeling excited that certain things finally got screen time, but very disappointed in how they handled it.

Then we get that pathetic scene of her almost dying 30 times only to point out to Jon that Daenerys is a killer..

One day you two will get that invite to GRRM's ranch, and when you get there you'll be jumped by Elio and Linda, who'll tie you to chairs and force you to watch as they and Geroge rank every gag you've ever made at his expense...🙄
