Kicked it around the 1, lands on the 19. 80 yards in the air - that was impressive.

*I was at Yankee Stadium when this game was played. The Yankees were supposed to play the Red Sox that night, but they were rained out. It was going to be Roger Clemens against Pedro Martinez. So I went to Stan's across the street to watch the Giants blow this game. Ed McCaffrey broke his leg. Then I went to work. The next morning was 9/11.*

Man, I was so excited for Williams after this - too bad he struggled to get it away in time too often. Dude had an insane leg.

@BaddogSports8 жыл бұрын
Patrick Roll LOL! Sorry. It slipped my mind. I don't usually make a habit of remembering punters. I remember Sean Landeta, Brad Maynard, Mike Horan, Jeff Feagles, and Matt Dodge.That's about it lol.

MrBaddog7676 haha no worries thats the only reason I remember him... fricken Matt Dodge..

Patrick Roll Lol! Yeah. Matt fricken Dodge. That guy was AWFUL! I'll never forget that stupid loss to Philly in 2010 because he punted the ball right to Jackson. What a dip shit lol

You took the words right out of my keyboard,ericradford,but that was still a boomer.NINETY-ONE yards,EIGHTY in the air. Probably the NFL'S most powerful punt ever.

Everytime I tell people, yeah Rodney Williams from GT had a huge punt for the Giants! 90+ yards!? Then I look up the play, find it here, and remember exactly what day it was just by seeing that field and knowing the broadcast... and then go… “Oh shittttt that’s right..” 😢🤯

Remember that he broke his hand and they had him punting with it wrapped He also ran a 4.5 40 but fucked up and decided to fake and run for a first on his own

I remember this game. I remember Shaun Williams' hit on Ed McCaffrey. And I remember this punt by this rookie. Thought he'd be punting bombs for a long time.

Williams was the fourth black punter in NFL history,and this was (I believe) the fourth 90-yard or farther punt.

Awesome video. Thanks for the great comments guys. I can tell you it was more of a great kick than it was the air or wind. The return man, Delta O'Neal was one of the best at the time and he judged the kick the best he could. Check the history, more punts over 50 yards than any other punter in an NFL season.

@@thegreatgumbino420 *Correct, but Randall Cunningham actually had a number of punts in his career, the longest being 90 yards. That particular one was against the Giants.*

I still remember watching this game. Read up about him (black punter - caught my eye). Turns out he had some accident or another in HS which gave the options of quitting football altogether or being its punter. Well, he got himself to the NFL. Commentators believed his athleticism could allow great fake punt opportunities. Was kinda surprised his career didn't pan out too well.

You can definitely blame the Mile High air for this one.
@naturallyme2776 жыл бұрын
bigblue999 So what excuse does every other punter that has played there have? Thin air or not your looking at the record for the Ny Giants and Monday Night Football. RW also holds the record for most punts over 50 yards in a single season.
@brianb74234 жыл бұрын
I’ll blame Jason Elams career then on the air
