9 ай бұрынSo I just finished pretty much everything in Armored Core 6 and since I have access to all the parts now I began brainstorming with whatever few neurons I have left on things I'd like to test out.
How about I check what's the longest distance a single swipe of a laser blade can cover?
Is this viable? No. Is it fun? Not Really, but it's pretty interesting.
I beg of you not to use this in PvP or you'll have a bad time...

I really hope for dlc for AC6 not only for more missions but more parts like imagine a rocket hammer that hit hard but slow deployment and storage or a chain axe that's acts as lighter chainsaw with being faster but less damage.

What I'm hoping for if they decide to do DLC is for them to re-introduce right handed melee weapons, I miss my Knight Build something fierce.

Shoulder extensions, right hand melee weapons, and internal weapon bays and actual hangar units. I'm aware you can replace back weapons with arm weapons with OS tuning, but my compulsive need to slap on every bloody gun conceivable to my AC like it's Last Raven all over again is something I miss in ACVI. Oh, and weapon arms. I wanna see how hilarious some of them can get with 6th Gen gameplay.

I would really love more utility parts like flares to counter rockets or maybe a shield that makes you move faster when its deployed but overheats if its out too long

Yeah feel free to just tack in whatever you want, keep in mind I got rid of any expansion slot because it surprisingly has weight and was enough to reduce the range by 1 meter lol

Definitely love that you took the time to work out these numbers, and reinvigorated my initial love for the laser blade. Went with the dagger, moonlight and even the baton or lance at times, but the sheer joy of that almighty oldschool swipe the laser blade gives is literal “chef’s kiss” in quality and fulfilment. Plus the charged version reminds me of Jehuty(ZOE1&2) doing the burst slash attack

Just so you know, the charged attack of the coral oscillator gives it a range of like, 250m, but its slow and you're locked in place, itd be cool if you checked it out tho!

@@cow12344 coral oscillator is the last reward of combat log hunt which is as default you need to open all the stage mission until NG++, and complete all the stage with combat log icon in it

The blade technique I love to use it procing the blade attack at the end of an assault boost. It comes out so quick that even a charge attack ends up hitting them. I use the really fast assault boost boosters that look like beaks.

Ngl. Favorite part of all the head pieces is when the Raven head you unlock goes into combat mode (When you enter combat or Assault Boost the visor flips down). Taking photos has never felt so cool lmaooo

hm. that ~200m lunge really opens up the book for weapons to build stagger with. the el cheepo liniar rifle builds a lot of stagger and they probably wouldn't expect you to be able to capitalize on a stagger from that far.

A couple things I've picked up from other videos people might want to know also to help the longest reaching blades idea. So you can QB during a melee charge and keep doing that to infinitely close distance with any melee that has a dashing charge attack I believe, not sure. That makes most of them usable at any range and with a lot of movement to help dodge incoming damage. All as long as you have the EN. As for other builds you can just use the laser lance and basically cheese the forward distance very easily. Not sure how far it goes but definitely far. And finally a tip for landing that illusive charged pilebunker. You can actually use the first tip in this comment in conjunction with a back mounted pilebunker and as you QB you do it towards them and then swap out your weapons to the pilebunker and hold LT to get an almost guaranteed charge attack. Takes a bit of practice but very satisfying to pull off. Good luck, Ravens

@@Chris3s Not sure what you're asking is worth it or not, but I'd say yeah at least learning the quick boost out of a melee charge is very useful in all cases PvE and PvP. If you're talking about swapping out the pilebunker with a different melee then doing the tech with that it's probably not necessary at all since most melee other than the pilebunker have reasonable ranges, but it looks cool and feels real good so go for it

I was also testing lunge a couple weeks ago and I found that if you quickboost before attacking the effective range is increased to 280 and assault boost bringing it down to 260 instead which might be because of the air break effect you get when canceling assault boost. Overall great video 👍

can't you smoothly transition from an assault boost while keeping your momentum? i have heard that you can do that, it's either tapping the ascend button or the quickboost button, can't remember off the top of my head

Funny that you called this information worthless when it’s actually extremely useful for anyone wanting to make a melee build. As the fact you figured out the AC weight greatly affects the distance your melee attack covers is something most players wouldn’t have even considered.

This actually looks pretty fun, I should make a melee oriented frame. Give it a pulse shield LS, mess around with some energy melees, stick a longer range rifle on the right shoulder and just throw the right hand out in tandem

Lunge might also be affected by the chest stat Booster Adjustment. Considering weight was a factor it might also tie into the lunge distance!.

quick tip for future videos: you can sort parts by stat so when you're trying to find the part with the highest or lowest of a specific stat you don't have to look through each one

The Wuerger for me has been pairing rather exceptionally well with melee weapons that have the initial burst. Have it charging while melee cancelling for a quick semi long range laser poker which does a decent amount of impact

Tried it, you get owned a lot but it's really satisfying to get some style points. Two melee for left arm switching back and forth lots of kicking. A small assault rifle or smg to keep stagger built up and a side grenade launcher to put some heat on someone that is staggered but has too much distance to punish

Laser lance is a must, the best melee weapon in the game by far. The 2nd one can be debateable, the pile bunker has a shit thrust by high impact and good damage.

I remember previous AC games on PS2 actually changed how blades attacked depending on the leg type. Quads would stab instead of slash. I'm way too lazy to test it myself, but maybe leg type could make some difference?

Fun fact: using this same setup, the laser lance can reach up to (a slighty inconsistent) 227m of distance on an uncharged hit, beating the laser blade by 27m (from what i tested, LB can reach up to 200m but its really inconsistent).

the sweeping rings of the laser blade is great clear. But the oscillator has much longer range on a charged sweep. Never use the noncharged on the oscillator.

dash distance might have too do with how much the AC weighs. lighter means further hence why you got a bit less with the mid weight reverse joints.

200m is what the game defines as "long range" when you inspect long range assist on the FCS menu. So basically, your laser blade is a threat at ranges that exceed the effective range of many guns in the game. Lmfao.

Booster efficiency only looks at QB EN consumption and then does a deductive or multiplicative factor, melee attacks has a different EN consumption

Hope to see more Hypothetically if pvp was slower paced you could fake out the Enemy with the shorter and longer animation of the dagger charge attack then switch to the quick long blade for mix up
