U played the villian so beautifully!!!! I have never loved watching a villian so much

Given how pivotal makeup can be to a Drag Queens performance as well as their character I am glad that they worked with Jinkx on designing the look of the Maestro.

Jinkx is an absolute force of nature and the only choice for Maestro

I love how they somehow made the makeup very Doctor Who, with the color choices, and the slow change over the course of the episode. While keeping it looking like a face that Jinx would paint on themselves while at a normal Jinx Monsoon show

So I'm not the only one who couldn't stop talking about the great eye makeup!

Love seeing Jinkx behind the scenes & on camera. A true powerhouse of talent. Addicting to watch.

Seriously, this Jinx's portrayal of the Maestro will go down as a classic villain from the whoverse. I want to see her return along with the dream lord.

It's nice to have appreciation for the excellent costume and makeup design. Too often these aspects get forgotten.

This is the adult version of a Disney villain. Jinx uses their face soo expertly they don't even need dialogue. Not for every style of storytelling, but perfect here.

The costume designers deserve a really nice bonus for what they've done.

Jinkx absolutely nailed this role and is one of the reasons why this ep has been my fav of the season so far. Maestros first costume is so cool with the piano keys on the suit and is my fav al so the gold rope one the last one is a nice touch, heard it took long to make that rope whoever did it did fantastic.

Panto Villain used to be a negative way of describing old Who villains, but not any more! How ironic that someone non-English gives the most hypnotic performance of it since the classic series established it, bravo!

Never heard of them before this episode, but they were great as this really over the top panto level villain.

I knew *Jinx* *Monsoon* by name only... had never seen a performance... only one brief interview. 'Maestro' is exactly the time of over-the-top villain that appeals to the kid in me. 💥 They're funny... but can pivot to horrifying in a flicker of an instant. I hope we get much, much more 'Maestro' in coming episodes.

Now I want to know EVERYTHING about Maestro. The perfect little creature, so gorgeous, so mean, very scary and I can't take my eyes out of them.

One of my best friends adores Jinkx and has seen them at many shows in the Boston and NYC areas. After seeing this episode, it is no wonder why she loves Jinkx to the ends of the earth. Brilliant casting, a perfectly nuanced Doctor Who villian. I loved the episode!

My favorite villain since Davros! Maestro was so delightfully insane and just so *different,* it was easy to believe they came from outside of our familiar universe. Well done, Jinkx Monsoon and the writers of Dr. Who!❤

I enjoyed the last look the most, because it was more focused and actually felt like a serious villian compared to the evil over the top drag look earlier that episode.

I couldn't get passed the image of Will Ferrell as Jacobim "Mugatu" Moogberg from Zoolander.

Maestro's last makeup look and mannerisms kind of gave me withdrawal vibes. Like in the earlier looks they were eating fat and happy and actively consuming, but by the last one, the well has started to dry. Rubes was the LAST human with music in her heart. It felt like Maestro was gunning for that last hit.

Maestro is definitely one of my favourite villains, the sudden changes and the pure unhinged energy is just spectacular!

I love Jinx Monsoon and Doctor Who. Ngl, wasn't feeling the casting news when I found out coz I didn't want to be campy campy but she did an AMAZING job and seemed perfect for the role. Sucks no Beatles music made it but I'm sure that would've cost a fortune.

I love over the top villains. Any character can be written as a villain by simply giving the character a motive and letting them do evil actions, but that doesn't make them a good villain. A good villain needs charisma and a certain dominance on stage. Only then can they be truly entertaining. As for Doctor Who the Master would be a great example particularly when the Master was Missy. The Toymaker is another great and more recent example. The reason why those characters work are not only their intelligence and elaborate plans but first and foremost their flair. They are fun to watch and personally I don't really want them to be gone for good since when they are still out there one can wonder what else they might be up to, even if they never return for real. And now we have Maestro....... I love the character. Maestro is funny and at the same time very threatening, all the while looking fantastic. (This was a very interesting insight, by the way.) They are dominiering the scene....... and that's while playing against this particular version of the Doctor. Well, I hope for sure we haven't seen the last of them...... and I believe we have not, given that Henry Arbinger could be seen at the end of the episode. Well, we will have to wait and see. Anyways, a great character, a great episode. I love it.

I'm curious about how this character will eventually get adapted in italian. The Master here is "Maestro", which is the direct translation of that word. Maybe she'll become "La Direttrice"

It's a shame the episode felt sort if mushy? Muddy? Ill defined? So many of its elements hit the mark hard, I think the premise was just too hard to elucidate.

I love this character and feel the folks complaining about it being campy and over the top are kind of missing the point. It's a musical demigod. Literally the embodiment of hammy cabaret and over-the-top vaudeville. The over acting is not a bug, it's a feature.
